We recently stayed at Queen’s Palace and, overall, I’d say it was an average holiday with both positives and negatives. The biggest positives were the pool area, the water slides, the entertainment team, the drinks and the staff. The entertainment crew work incredibly hard throughout the day and evening and make a real effort to involve everyone. The bar and restaurant staff were always friendly and helpful, which made a big difference. I also want to mention the lifeguards, who were excellent. I witnessed first-hand how quickly they responded when a child got into difficulty after coming off one of the slides and needed to be pulled from the water. Their reaction was immediate, professional and reassuring, and they deserve a lot of credit for how alert they were. The beach was also nice, although the beach snack bar often ran out of food quite quickly, especially during busy periods. Unfortunately, there were several things that let the hotel down. The food became very repetitive after a few days, with little variety from one day to the next. Around the pool, the decking and steps became extremely slippery when wet. Although there are wet floor signs in some areas, I nearly slipped over numerous times myself, and both of my daughters also slipped over while simply walking around the pool. My wife unfortunately fell down some wet steps, which was quite concerning and is something the hotel should continue to look at to improve safety. Guest Services were also very helpful when my wife fell. They checked on her, offered assistance and handled the situation professionally, which we really appreciated. The main pool is a good size, but it’s all one depth. This meant my daughters had to wear floats because it was too deep for them, while the children’s pool was too shallow for their age, leaving no real middle ground. The hotel shops are also very expensive. We found that the shops just 500 yards down the road sold many of the same items for around a third of the price. Our biggest disappointment was the behaviour at night. Children were regularly running up and down the corridors as late as 1 a.m., shouting, banging on doors and causing chaos. It made getting a good night’s sleep difficult. To the hotel’s credit, when we reported it, security responded immediately and dealt with the issue, but it seemed to be an ongoing problem rather than an isolated incident. We also witnessed a fight in the dining area, with people slapping each other near the food counters, which wasn’t something you’d expect to see in a family resort. Overall, there are definitely good things about Queen’s Palace, particularly the friendly staff, attentive lifeguards, helpful Guest Services team, entertainment crew, pools and slides. However, the repetitive food, slippery pool areas, noisy corridors at night and some issues with guest behaviour mean I don’t feel it quite lives up to the standard I was expecting.
So this is my honest review. I'm on day 5 of my week stay here. I'll start with the positives. The lobby is nice and clean and welcoming. The lounge bar is chilled and relaxing as is the downstairs coffee bar. Good bus service to the beach. Watersports at the beach are crazy prices. The jetski is €100 for 15 mins and the jetcar is €300 for 15 minutes. The slides by pool are good fun. The room is a good size and clean with everythingyou need. Now for the not so good bits. The rest of the hotel is fairly grubby. The corridors have rubbish left out woth plates or food left on the floor. The staircases have not been cleaned for at least the duration of our stay but I would say a few weeks or more. The main restaurant is the usual free for all chaos. Lots of food on the floor. 3 times in 5 days I have cut into my meat from the show cooking station to find it's not cooked properly. You won't go hungry but meal times are not enjoyable. The drinks are poor. Either to weak or way too strong. It's hit and miss depending on who serves you. Again not a deal breaker but just not enjoyable. We end up asking for extra mixers to adjust the strength ourselves. The pool bar has a good selection but nothing is chilled. The beer is warm so not really an option. The pool is very crowded, especially in the afternoon, although saying that today seems much quieter. The indoor pool is closed as they doing some repairs. Everyday they tell us it will be open tomorrow. But it never is. The evening entertainment is so loud. If you have a young family don't expect to get any sleep before 23:30 as the rooms do nothing to keep the noise out. You honestly struggle to here the TV over the entertainment (we use the firestick). Land of legends is great. Some big queues for a maybe 2 to 3 hours for some slides in the waterpark. Taxis are a rip off. Some ok little shops not too far from the hotel. Kadriye market on Tuesday was good and worth a visit. We used a dolmus bus which is cheap and easy. Overall I would rate it about 6 out of 10. Definitely not a 5 star hotel. It is more in keeping with a standard 3 star. I wouldn't recommend it friends or family and wouldn't return. We have made the most of it and it has not been awful. From the other guests I have spoken to, it appears to be a mixed bag. Some can't fault it and others agree with me. The main complaint from everyone is the food and drink.
Hotel is a good location for land of legends but not much else to do. The hotel need to action the feedback others have left, sort out the smoking areas. The sunbeds are touching each other and smoke is everywhere. Also, the entertainment is that loud you cant hear your TV in your room. Not everyone wants the entertainment, and for those who do, just turn it down, youve been repeatedly told yet do nothing about it. Were all shattered, we wont return.
From the time I have arrived so far my stay has been pleasant, food is good , slides are fantastic for the kids so far a great experience
It was good staff are moody and just walk past you but animation team are fantastic especially Mo he’s amazing so kind and friendly The food is boring it’s just always the same The pool is really slippy round I slipped a few times but slides are amazing and the pool is very big and quite warm to be honest bar staff are rude The rooms are always very clean and bathrooms round the hotel are very clean The beds are hard as a rock
