We had an excellent stay and would happily recommend this hotel. The standout aspect was the service—every member of staff we interacted with was friendly, professional and genuinely helpful, making us feel welcome throughout our visit. A special thank you to the lifeguards, who went above and beyond to interact with our son. He is autistic and can sometimes struggle to make friends, but they took the time to include him, have fun with him and make him smile every day. Those small acts of kindness meant more to us than you'll ever know and made our holiday truly special. The security team also deserve recognition. They were always visible around the hotel, day and night, and their presence made us feel safe and reassured throughout our stay. The bar staff were equally fantastic—always friendly, welcoming and happy to help, creating a lovely atmosphere. The hotel itself is absolutely beautiful. The corridors, public areas and overall décor are stunning and very well maintained. Our family room was comfortable, but it did feel a little basic in comparison to the rest of the hotel. Updating the wooden chair, wall art and a few of the furnishings would help the rooms better match the hotel's beautiful aesthetic. There were a couple of areas that could be improved. Housekeeping only cleaned our room on three occasions during our ten-night stay, so we ended up tidying and cleaning it ourselves when needed. It wasn't a major issue, but more consistent housekeeping would have made the experience even better. One thing that wasn't the hotel's fault was the behaviour of some guests. We found the lack of manners from a small number of people quite disappointing, with people barging through others without saying sorry or excuse me, and unnecessary banging off people and noise around the hotel. Thankfully, this didn't take away from our holiday, but it was noticeable. As the only Irish family we came across during our stay, it was lovely to experience such an international atmosphere. That said, it would be wonderful to see a little more Irish or English music and entertainment included in the animation programme so families from Ireland and the UK could feel even more involved. Overall, our experience was extremely positive, and what will stay with us most is the kindness of the staff. Thank you to everyone for making our family holiday so memorable, and especially to the lifeguards and animation team for making such a positive difference to our son's holiday. We would happily return in the future

**Blue Star Hotel – All Inclusive (1.5/5)** Unfortunately, this was one of the least relaxing all-inclusive holidays we've had, and we wouldn't recommend staying here. The biggest issue was simply that the hotel appears to accommodate far more guests than its facilities can comfortably handle. There are nowhere near enough sunbeds for the number of people staying at the hotel. Although signs say that reserving sunbeds with towels isn't allowed, the rule isn't enforced. If you're not up before around 8:00 am (and even that can be too late), you have virtually no chance of getting a sunbed. The same problem applies to the evening entertainment. There aren't enough seats for guests, so if you want somewhere to sit, you need to claim a seat around two hours before the entertainment even starts. That isn't my idea of a relaxing holiday. The rooms are very basic. They were clean thanks to the hardworking housekeeping staff, but don't expect anything more than the essentials. If you're a non-smoker, I'd strongly consider another hotel. Smoking is allowed in many outdoor areas, and you can smell cigarette smoke throughout much of the hotel. The food was, without question, the biggest disappointment. We'd seen reviews about the hotel mentioning food poisoning. Thankfully, we didn't experience that, but the quality of the food was genuinely poor. Even simple dishes such as pasta were badly cooked. After a few days we started eating out because we simply couldn't face the food anymore. Between 12 pm and 4 pm, snacks consist mainly of burgers and chips. The burgers were almost flavourless, and the buns were stale. The drinks offering is also disappointing. Beer and basic spirits are included, but cocktails cost extra. Soft drinks are served in very flimsy plastic cups that crack or collapse with the slightest squeeze. The pool area is directly connected to the bar, and the flooring becomes extremely slippery. We saw several people slip during our stay. Thankfully, nobody appeared to be seriously injured, but it looked like an accident waiting to happen. The lifts are slow and frequently busy. If you're staying on one of the higher floors, expect long waits throughout the day. The hotel offers a shuttle to the beach, but it's first come, first served. It's only a small minibus, so there were often more people waiting than there was space for. If you miss it, a taxi costs around €5, which isn't unreasonable. The staff were mixed. The housekeeping team were friendly and did a great job keeping the rooms clean. However, many of the bar staff appeared unhappy. On one occasion, I witnessed a member of staff become visibly angry with a guest who simply asked to have cola added to a whisky after initially ordering the drink. It was uncomfortable to watch and not the sort of customer service you'd expect on holiday. One thing worth mentioning is that the majority of guests (80%) during our stay appeared to be Polish, with relatively few visitors from other countries. That's not a criticism in itself, but it may be useful information for some travellers. The best part of the hotel was actually the reception lobby. It was air-conditioned, comfortable and one of the few places where you could reliably find a seat. There's also a small clothes shop next to the hotel with very reasonable prices, and the owner was genuinely friendly. Overall, this hotel just felt overcrowded, noisy and stressful. Between the poor food, lack of facilities for the number of guests, constant competition for sunbeds and seats, slow lifts and disappointing atmosphere, it simply wasn't the relaxing holiday we were hoping for. Save your money and book somewhere else. **Our overall rating: 1.5 out of 5 (and that feels generous).**
