The Lumos Deluxe Resort Hotel & Spa

Stayed here for 10 nights (2 adults and 4 older teens). The hotel is clean and the rooms were fine, though a little tired. The animation team, reception staff, and housekeeping were all excellent. The on-site restaurants were lovely—make sure to book in advance upon arrival because the slots fill up quickly. The Gypsy Cafe located near the hotel also serves a lovely variety of food and gave us a nice change from the buffet; the owner is very attentive toward tourists. Because the hotel is located far from the airport, it is absolutely worthwhile to pre-book private transport to save time. Good location, lovely beach, and beautiful area. However, we rated our stay down for two major reasons: First, we booked a shopping trip via the hotel guide to what we were advised was a local shopping centre. This was not the case. We were taken to a local shop (similar to a shack) with highly inflated prices, where the shops adjacent to the hotel sell the same items at a lower cost. The owner states prices are fixed but then significantly inflates the agreed price at the time of payment. I do not recommend using the hotel guide for this. Second, and most importantly, I experienced highly inappropriate and degrading behaviour from one of the hotel lifeguards. He made highly suggestive comments, crossed personal boundaries, and asked me to meet him outside of my marriage. This completely ruined the comfort of our stay, as I had to actively spend the rest of our holiday avoiding him. I have since raised a formal complaint regarding this individual through our booking agent. Management needs to ensure that clear boundaries and professional etiquette are strictly enforced with their poolside staff so other female guests do not experience this.

We had an excellent experience at The Lumos Hotel, and a big part of that was thanks to Ismail, the lifeguard. He is truly outstanding at his job and goes above and beyond for all the guests. Ismail is fantastic with both adults and children. He is always friendly, approachable, and happy to help whenever anyone needs assistance. The kids absolutely loved him because he made their time around the pool so much fun, especially when helping them on the slides and encouraging them safely. He has a great way of interacting with children that keeps them entertained while making sure they are always safe. What impressed us most was his professionalism. He is constantly alert and has his eyes on everything happening around the pool area. You can relax knowing that Ismail is paying attention and taking his responsibilities seriously. He creates a safe, enjoyable atmosphere for everyone and is a real credit to The Lumos Hotel.

We stayed at this hotel with two families of seven. Due to a flight delay and being checked into the wrong hotel, the manager at this hotel was helpful, calming us down, and showing us the hotel grounds and rooms while we were resolving the issue with the tour operator. The food is good; you won't go hungry. The service is good, but the bartenders are surly. The rooms are cleaned daily. The beach is clean, with small pebbles and a good entry into the sea, but small children need life rings or armbands. The entertainment staff is top-notch, and the guys are great: men versus women shows, magic tricks, different activities every day for both adults and children, yoga, aqua, bossa, darts, and volleyball. We went to a beach party with the entertainers and were delighted. The fire show, foam rolling, and transformers were top-notch. A big thank you to Margo at Aqua for helping with everything. We highly recommend this hotel and will be back.

We had a really lovely stay at the hotel. Staff was always friendly and helpful, and there was plenty to do inside and around the hotel to keep the family entertained.
