TUI BLUE Side

Definitely not 5* (comparing to other 5* hotels in Turkey & this area) mainly due to poor service & ‘cost cutting/ penny pinching) Although I don’t need or expect a hotel full of brits this is completely German focused from evening music to tv channels & a bit tiring when staff keep talking to you in German even after a week. NO air con!! Controlled by hotel to not go below 23!! Way too hot for me & could not sleep all week! No wine, snacks, fruit in room. Coffee machine with one pod each per stay! (Others chargeable ) Very basic shampoo & shower gel. Extremely poor service, good luck getting a coffee with your breakfast or wine with your dinner & virtually impossible to get a drink during evening entertainment. Very disappointed & would not recommend.

This is a 4 star hotel not a 5. It should be noted also that this is a German orientated hotel (90% German guests) and the language spoken and tv channels etc reflects this. On the plus side sunbeds were plentiful at the pool and beach, the food was pretty good and the room was good and cleaned every day. On the downside, there was some penny pinching. The air con could not be set below 23 degrees. This was a problem. I complained but was told that was the hotel setting and couldn’t be changed. The room was too hot at night. The room coffee machine had 2 espresso pods supplied with a note advising that if you wanted more there was a charge of €1 each! The mini bar was re-stocked but the complimentary snack of 1 bag of peanuts was not. The balcony lights in the hotel were all permanently deactivated! There was often a long wait for drinks when seated in the restaurant. Some staff were good but some were very uninterested even rude on one occasion when drinks were requested. Non of this would happen in a high end 5 star hotel. Somewhat disappointing as we expected better from Tui blue.

Beautifully clean and well kept hotel the food was exceptional and all the staff pleasant - if you expect to only speak English you will not like this hotel - all inclusive package with the ability to dine in their à la carte restaurant depending on the stay you book beach is very close - there are many cats about some should be neutered

Overall the Tui blue was very good. Located in a good position opposite the beach, with its own bar/restaurant and plentiful well cushioned sun beds. Our room was a side sea view that overlooked another hotel. The room was excellent with a well stocked fridge. The entertainment was very good in particular the South African girl and South African male singers who were on a different night. The best group were also South African an il divo type group. Food was plentiful and varied and the culinarily great. The hotel was catered more for the Predominately German clientele which was a slight negative in that there were only a few English there while we were there. The staff were very good and always had smiles on their faces. We found Side to be very nice and the day trip to the ruins was good.

First of all make no mistake the overwhelming guest are German. However don't let that put you off. The hotel is lovely. The rooms are quite and spacious we had one facing the side of the hotel facing another hotel right opposite their kitchen extract, luckily we don't use the balcony so the smells didn't effect us. I would recommend asking or upgrading to a pool view if you use your balcony. The pool was cold and not heated so needs the sun over the next couple of months to warm it up a bit, but there was plenty of good quality sunbeds available up to 9.00am ish in the morning. Visit the pool Bar the Barman was a lovely man who looked after us all holiday, We are not beach people but there was loads of sunbeds on the beach to use. The hotel is on the beach so no walk at all. The food was fantastic and plenty of choice in the dining room, The Turkish staff did mainly speak German and greeted you in German however once they knew you were English they changed to English (how many of us can say we can do that). The Spa was delightful (extra cost) but well worth it. The Tui staff were brilliant again German but one lady spoke perfect English and helped us out with our printed boarding passes before we went home. Don't bother with the Welcome meeting its in German but download the Tui Blue App its a big help. All in all a lovely clean smart beautiful hotel with lovely staff. We will definitely be back in the future.
