Agaya Didim Resort Hotel

Hotel clean, service good, food and food choice good. Kids club really good, all day things to do for adults and children.

First of all, it’s important to understand that this is a very traditional Turkish hotel. Until the last couple of summers, it mainly catered to Turkish guests, so don’t expect everyone to speak fluent English. The staff always do their best though, and everyone we met was friendly and welcoming. The pool area is absolutely incredible, and unlike many hotels, there was no sunbed/towel reservation issue, which was a huge bonus. The beach is literally on your doorstep and is beautiful. The entertainment team work really hard and were excellent. The only downside for us was the live singing evenings, as they were mainly Turkish music, which wasn’t really to our taste. The food is very Turkish. If you’re expecting lots of international options, seafood or shellfish, you may be disappointed. There wasn’t much fish available, and the menu became quite repetitive after a week. The beach bar also has a limited menu (around seven items), so after 10 days we’d definitely had enough of it. The gym is very basic, so don’t expect a fully equipped fitness centre. The hotel is quite isolated. There are only a handful of small shops within walking distance, so if you want restaurants, shopping or nightlife you’ll need to get a taxi into Didim. The biggest issue for us is that this is not a 5-star hotel. We’d rate it closer to a good 3-star. Jet2 actually sent us a letter during our stay explaining that the hotel’s star rating had been reviewed and changed to 3 stars, although friends travelling separately didn’t seem to receive the same information from Easy jet Overall, we had a lovely holiday thanks to the fantastic pool, beautiful beach and hardworking staff. Just go with realistic expectations about the facilities, food and location, and you’ll probably enjoy your stay. If you want your kids to have English friends on holiday there is 5% English .

The services at this resort excedeed our expectations, every request we had during our staying there was accomplished by the stuff who were very friendly and helpful. Special appreciation to Mr Bekir, one of the managers, who had an excellent collaboration with our guide and local travel agent, mrs Mihaela (Ela), who was also very professional. The hotel is highly recommended for the families with children especially and it’s very animated, during day and evenings. We loved the food, everything was delicious, both traditional and international meals. The dancing and circus shows are a must see and on day time the animation team is very good.
