Well, initial impressions were favourable considering this was a cheap holiday in the sun. We arrived Sunday 28th Sept, greeted at reception by one of the owners, checked in, told the meal times, and told our room was on 2nd floor. Room was OK but dated and tired but clean'ish apart from the mould in the bathroom. Food choice was limited for European tastes and warm at best, canteen lids stacked up so they were left open. No mention of what drinks were included in the "all inclusive" package 🤣. Barman was miserable as could be, no smile, barely any acknowledgement you were there. I asked for a rum and coke and was met with a shrug , I pointed to a captain Morgan bottle on the wall and said rum.... captain morgan. This seemed to work as I got my rum and coke, at no point was I told it was chargeable. Later that night after eating out because the food was awful I was met by another member of staff asking for my room number...you can guess what that was now for. And so it got worse. We heard from some other British guests we chatted to that they were being moved because the hotel was closing on Thursday 2nd Oct, we were booked til Sunday 5th!. We'd not been told anything, Nada! Considering we checked in the day before we thought this was ridiculous. I found the owner and asked him, his initial response was 'who told you' !!. Over the next day or two more of the owners family arrived, more sunloungers disappeared into storage to the point there were hardly any left, none left on the beach as they were all removed. Staff and family basically took over the place to the point where the bar staff began using the pool and splashing what few guests were left due to diving in etc. We hardly ate at the hotel as food was not good, we also felt like they were doing.us a favour staying there and they were just waiting for us inconvenient guests to leave. Upon the day we were told to vacate (initially to a hotel not of our choice and further away from town which I refused) neither of the owners were present to arrange transport or assist in any issues we might have needed them for. They also tried charging me 7 euros for the Captain Morgan which I had no idea was not included in all inclusive, despite all the upheaval to us they still felt it was chargeable 🤣🤣. I was told to be ready after breakfast which we were, no manager/s on site, just a young Turkish lad behind the counter who didnt understand the situation.... he got the manager on the phone and he told us to either wait an hour for him to turn up or get a taxi to the new hotel 🤣🤣🤣. I said im not waiting and im not paying 7 euros for the drink which eventually.he dropped and after a few minutes the maintenance man drove us to our new hotel in town which was fortunate as there were a few issues on check in. Summary, stay well away

Maxsea Beach Hotel Turgutreis Choose somewhere else. 1034487414 This is not a 3 star hotel, it is a very poor 1/2 star at best. Staff are untrained and always on their phones, guests are ignored - when we were trying to check out the male receptionist was having a 'phone conversation with a female (on speaker) at the front door of the hotel and completely ignored us for at least 10 minutes - I had to tell him to come to the desk and cut his call. Restaurant - is not such, it resembles a canteen, the food is dire and served cold, no allergy awareness whatsoever and no attempt to accommodate. The tables in the beach side awning are filthy and you have to clear the previous days dirty pots/glasses and ask for a cloth to wipe the grime off the table. Young men behind bar by dining room are absolutely clueless; ask for a red wine and you are told there isn't any, then 20 minutes later you see someone else being served one! Bedrooms and balconies need a deep clean. Shower rooms are dated and in need of a refurb. My husband and I were chatting to a local man who asked where we were staying and when we said Maxsea, he grimaced and said the place had previously been used as accommodation for other hotels' staff and he thought it needed pulling down, he is right. I do not understand how anyone thinks this level of dreadful service is acceptable. I doubt that the very cheery and positive reviews are genuine.

We recently stayed at the Max Sea. We based our choice on the superb location + even better reviews. We arrived in the early hours of the morning + after much gesturing and little spoken English we were shown to our rooms. The rooms were basic, but we hadn’t paid a fortune. Unfortunately the rooms and balcony weren’t very clean, with old paper labels stuck to the work surfaces and the A/C pipe drained on the onto the balcony, making it very slippery. The food was ok, but the choice was limited + not very warm. The bar staff appeared very interested in their phones if not customers. The bar staff had very limited English + as a result as result ordered drinks weren’t always what was requested. Coke became beer + wine was what came to hand irrespective of colour. The most amusing thing was watching the young staff trying to use a corkscrew. One held the bottle, whilst another pulled on the corkscrew, like a tug of war. We booked for 14 nights, but stayed only 5 as the hotel was closing down for the season. We were relocated to another hotel which was an improvement. We couldn’t work out why our original booking was accepted, if they knew they were closing 5 days into our 14 day stay. The location was really good, but the cleanliness, service and communication skills, less so.

Had a lovely relaxing break here, staff great, location superb right on its own beach. The new management team were very informative around plans for next season around refurbishments, it is a little dated. Very clean, housekeeping every day, Chef provided the food which was traditional Turkish mixed with a continental assortment. The area is quiet, albeit the location of numerous very large hotels, walk into town along the prommanade in 20mins, bars/restaruants etc and large market. We found that september was ideal time to visit. Tak a trip to Kos and explore the old town. If you want to do nothing but relax its great.
