Meliá Ho Tram Beach Resort

We stayed in a 2 bedroom pool villa and had a mixed stay. Pros: The villa - the villa is beautiful, comfortable and a great size. We really enjoyed the villa and it was well maintained. Housekeeping was good as well. We also really enjoyed our meals at Muối which was our favourite restaurant (service and food were good here). The hotel grounds and pools are also beautiful. Spa was mostly good. Cons: Service was patchy and well intentioned but not great. The staff at Level pool were very reactive and would sit on their phones most of the time unless you went up to them. Lot's of opportunities to check on guests but never happens. Blender was also broken for days at Level pool (how does it take multiple days to fix an issue like that). Spa was nice but needed more seating and we did not like having to wait in a crowed locker room with undressing strangers before and after the treatment (why not just have changing facilities in the treatment rooms) - it was a bit of a take away from the luxury. Key issue as we were there over a peak period was the main pool. Seats were always reserved at the pool and the hotel did NOTHING to enforce any time limits (yes there is a 30 min limit on the pool rules) but none of the hotel staff did anything to enforce this. At 7am most mornings every lounge would be reserved by people who did not show up to 11am. Hotel is just neglecting this issue even when we raised with them. Food quality was ok, but not great for the price in our view - we had a disappointing dinner at Breeza were food was sub-par. Overall, the service was mixed, most staff were well intentioned but meals would come out at different times, staff would miss orders, and language barrier could be an issue which I have not had at other 5* resorts in Vietnam. The hotel's rural location makes getting good staff an issue I imagine, and this did show.

I was completely satisfied with my stay at Meliá Hồ Tràm Beach Resort. The staff are wonderfully friendly and genuinely kind, the food is excellent, and above all there is a rare sense of calm and tranquility. I love cooking, so it was a real pleasure to discover that culinary classes are included for all all-inclusive guests. Chef Huy and his assistants Kai and Bunny — you will stay in my heart forever! It was an outstanding and inspiring cooking class. Thank you so much! Special thanks as well to Chef Hoa, with whom we prepared paella — he was absolutely wonderful. I highly recommend taking cooking lessons with this team — it’s a true delight. Thank you to the hotel for such a wonderful vacation. I would love to come back.

I cannot express how amazing this resort is for a relaxing getaway from home. The staff here are beyond friendly, and are happy to help with any issue, as well as making your stay both welcome and enjoyable. The waiters at the Breeza restaurant are the kindest and friendliest people, as are the staff at Muoi. The staff of whom ran our cooking and coffee classes were amazing to work with, with a special mention to Ngan who ran our coffee class. The AI menu here was extremely generous, and the swim up bar at the main pool truly made this experience amazing. I would highly recommend this resort to everyone!

An amazing dining experience with outstanding food. We asked Nga (our wonderful waitress for the evening) to select a menu that showcased both Vietnamese flavours and the restaurant’s house specialties — and wow, what an incredible selection of dishes. Everything was delicious and beautifully presented. Both the food and service were truly first class. It felt more like a high-quality standalone restaurant than a typical hotel restaurant, if that makes sense. I would highly recommend visiting if you’re staying at Melia Ho Tram or travelling through the region. A special shout-out to Jason (Restaurant Manager) for running such an exceptionally well-managed restaurant.
