Riu Palace Zanzibar

Not a 5-star resort/hotel. Let's stick to 4-star. Rating our experience as average since we expected to arrive to a 5-star accommodation. Must be said that the people working are very friendly and helpful. The general buffet (morning-lunch-dinner) is very nice: very extended & fresh. Downside to the buffet during lunch & dinner: the wine they serve is not drinkable and there is no choice. The place has three "à la carte" restaurants. They are decent, though not 5-star worthy, and sadly here there was no choice of wine either. Luckily the wine served was much better than at the buffet. But still. They also mention to have a place for snacks during the day. This is an absolute joke tbh. It's a self-serve counter with some overripe melon, dried out burger meat, ... Absolutely terrible. The drinks are at all the bars cheap liquors and rather poorly made cocktails, again not 5-star worthy at all. The hotel does have great access to the beach, and their garden is beautifully landscaped. If this would be communicated as a 4 star, it would live up to expectations but it is so not a 5-star place.

It’s a very good hotel; we came as a family and were delighted. The staff is very friendly, and I’d especially like to mention Roni!

Wow great and amaizing hotel starting from the day we arrived to the day we depart this place have special people and amaizing surroundings especially the beach and sea,good food,drinks and so on come to the entertainment team RONI is the best of the best,alongside with his team and boss Simba did a great job to make the guest enjoy their staying at the hotel,without forgetting the crystal food very nice with the staff smiling as Devotha this hotel I give 10/10
