We’re currently staying here with my husband and our 4-year-old son. There are definitely plenty of positives, but unfortunately a few negatives too.
The hotel itself is beautiful, with lovely views and spacious rooms. We upgraded to a family swim-up room, and if your budget allows, I would absolutely recommend it, it really made our stay even more enjoyable.
The food has been fantastic. There’s a huge variety, everything is fresh, and it’s some of the best hotel food we’ve had for an all inclusive. There’s also a snack bar serving takeaway-style food such as burgers, nuggets and gyros, which were all delicious. This was especially handy with a young child as we could take the food back to our room when we wanted a quieter lunch time.
The location is another big plus. There’s a bus stop right outside the hotel, and it’s less than a 10-minute bus ride into the centre of Protaras, making it really easy to explore the area.
Unfortunately, the biggest downside for us has been the lack of entertainment and activities for children. We’ve never stayed at a hotel with so little on offer for families. It’s such a shame because it lets the hotel down.
All of the evening entertainment takes place on one outdoor terrace, but there simply isn’t enough seating for the number of guests during the summer. One evening there was a DJ, but we couldn’t stay and enjoy it because every seat was taken. On another night there was a magician performing for just an hour, starting at 9pm, and the area became so overcrowded with adults and children that it felt uncomfortable and at times, unsafe because there was barely any room to move.
Because there’s so little outdoor seating, many guests end up sitting inside the lobby in the evenings instead, which isn’t ideal especially if you’re holidaying with young children and looking for a relaxed evening atmosphere. It would be great if the hotel could rethink this and provide more seating or an alternative entertainment area.
Housekeeping was also quite inconsistent. Our room was only cleaned twice during our week-long stay, which was disappointing.
Another issue was the lack of sunbeds around the pool. Thankfully, because we had a swim-up room, this didn’t affect us too much, but I imagine it would be quite stressful for guests relying on the main pool area.
Overall, we’ve had a nice holiday and there are many things this hotel does really well, particularly the food, rooms and location. However, due to the lack of entertainment, limited evening seating, inconsistent housekeeping and shortage of sunbeds, we personally wouldn’t choose to return.
