Cavo Maris

A lovely resort hotel close to a sandy beach. With adequate sun beds and plwnty shade on site. Big pool and multiple food outlets. We stayed all inclusive and found the buffett had more than enough variety to not require eating in any of the other venues. The staff were all polite and friendly with a warm welcome. Supervision in a busy dining room was managed well by Christina and Christos and Comfort's smile and welcome aleays warm.The room was inland facing with a walk in shower and balcony, a very comfortable bed. A little noise from the road but not enough to disturb sleep. Would definitely return here again.

We stayed at Cavo Maris Beach Hotel for one week with our two children and had a wonderful time. The location is excellent, right next to a beautiful beach with crystal-clear water. It is also very convenient, being only a 5-minute drive from the centre of Protaras, around 10–15 minutes from Ayia Napa, and approximately 45 minutes from Larnaca Airport. The hotel was clean throughout, our room was comfortable, and the staff were always friendly and helpful. The facilities are fantastic for families, especially the pools and outdoor areas. Our children loved spending time by the pool and on the beach. The Kids Club was excellent, offering a variety of fun activities that kept the children entertained throughout our stay. The atmosphere around the hotel was relaxed, welcoming, and very family-friendly. Overall, we had a fantastic family holiday and would happily recommend Cavo Maris Beach Hotel to anyone visiting Protaras. We would definitely consider returning in the future. what a gorgeous hotel, so clean and beautifully furnished, the staff are lovely, very friendly and helpful, our room was spacious, beautiful decor and all amenities you need. Protaras is so perfect for a week or two away just the right mix of restaurants and night life and beautiful scenery, we would recommend this hotel and this resort to anyone, whats not to like and we will be back!!

Negatives: It wasn't half term then but there were just so many children who (as described by a couple on our first night) were absolutely feral and their parents were worse. No respect or manners for other holiday makers and vile to staff who asked them to abide by some of the few rules. Anyway, that wasn't the hotel's fault. Read on. POSITIVES: Massively bigger than we realised. Everything was immaculately clean. Staff on the go all day. All staff were very very nice, if you had a question they all had a good knowledge of the hotel. They couldn't do enough for you. Rooms beautiful - modern, clean and spacious. Everything you needed. Control panels on the walls for aircon, lights, etc. Common areas/lifts/corridors all immaculate as were bars and restaurants. We booked B&B planning to go into the Strip every night by taxi 12 Euros each way (easily walkable but my friend has mobility issues) for traditional Cypriot Tavernas etc. We did this on the first night but were very disappointed to find it so busy & touristy, like a British seaside resort in full swing. Now we sound old and grumpy but we aren't. The reception offered us a deal for All Inclusive or All Inclusive Premium for 5 consecutive nights. All Inclusive is just eat at the buffet and pay for the restaurants but Premium is eat at the Restaurants too, pre booking. As we didn't like the Strip we took up their Premium offer for 360 Euros each. It was well worth the money. The food in each restaurant was amazing and they didn't scrimp on portions. You need to check what is open when though as the Taverna was only open Lunchtimes until 3.30pm and Saturday nights - not every night, the best food. One of the others was closed one night too. The Bistro menu was great, fabulous burgers. Sushi or Stone Grill also great but I didn't get to try the Sushi in time. You need to be careful when ordering drinks you might think are free. There is a tiny red x by the side of some drinks on the menu that mean you have to pay. All the cocktails were beautiful. Loads of sunbeds and umbrellas all in very good condition, poolside, further down the steps, Adults Only area then the steps /track went just down to the beach which was so close. More sand was put in while we were there. The sea was cold but normal and looked so clean. At the side of the main pool is a large jacuzzi for adults only ( a few ferals tried but were moved out if their feral parents didn't intervene), the actual pool was lovely and warm but due to number of children and floatables we didn't go in from day 4, we stuck to the jacuzzi & sea. There is a 2 years old new swim up bar in that pool and new bar building beyond that with a children's pool & pool with water features in. The swim up bar was great, but unfortunately being in the main pool surrounded by children spoiled it. They have spent a lot of money on it all in the 2 years but IF they only had another pool for Adults Only - the whole place would be perfect.

Just returned from a great week here, we would definitely recommend. Location good if you’re looking for a quiet hotel, situated between Protaras and Aiya Napa, 10 minutes either way in a taxi 10€. Staff very pleasant and attentive and food good, plenty of choice. We had a superior sea view room which was very comfortable with all mod cons after recent renovations. Live music every evening was good. We were all inclusive and paid extra to dine in the Italian restaurant one evening, very nice. No problem at all with sunbeds unless you want front row of the pool area. We also visited the spa and had treatments which were amazing. Would definitely consider revisiting, good value for money.
