After our British Airways flight was cancelled, our group of 18 were taken by coach to this hotel — and it turned what could have been a stressful night into a lovely experience. The hotel is stunning, the food delicious, and every member of staff was attentive and welcoming. A special thank you to Jamie Ellis, Front Office Manager, who looked after our entire party thoroughly and professionally. His calm organisation and friendly manner made all the difference. What began as a disrupted travel day ended with us feeling comfortable, cared for and genuinely impressed. Highly recommended.

We have really enjoyed our stay at the GrandResort in Limassol and would definitely consider returning. We arrived at around 2am after a late flight. As we’d missed our first day’s meals, the hotel gave us meal vouchers to use at any point during our stay so that we didn’t lose out on food we’d already paid for. We thought this was a really thoughtful gesture and it made a great first impression. The location is excellent. It’s just outside the centre of Limassol, so you get a much quieter setting, but it’s incredibly easy to get into the city. The number 30 bus stops almost directly outside the hotel, costs just €2 per adult each way, and children travel free, making it an easy and affordable trip. The hotel itself is beautiful and right on the beach. It’s spacious without feeling overwhelming, with lovely décor and a luxurious, relaxing atmosphere. At the start of our holiday it was wonderfully peaceful. The buffet restaurant was never crowded, there were no queues, and we never had any trouble finding sunbeds after breakfast, which was a huge plus. As the week went on, however, the hotel became much busier. It seemed as though there were quite a few local visitors, possibly on day passes, although we’re not certain. Unfortunately, the peaceful atmosphere changed quite noticeably. The buffet became extremely busy and, if you weren’t there as soon as the restaurant opened, some dishes had run out and weren’t being replenished quickly enough. The staff seemed to be working hard but struggling to keep up. On one occasion there wasn’t any cutlery laid out on the tables, so we had to wait, and every day there was lots of food left on the floor that never seemed to get cleaned up. We also noticed litter and debris on the stairwells and around the hotel that didn’t seem to be cleared promptly. It’s these little attention-to-detail issues that let an otherwise lovely hotel down. Our room was modern and a good size overall, but the housekeeping could have been a little more thorough. We noticed some grime around the shower door, there was a previous guest’s hair on my bedside lamp, and the walls are looking quite tired and marked in places, so they could do with a fresh coat of paint. None of these issues spoiled our stay, but they did take away slightly from what is otherwise a lovely hotel. The bathroom also felt quite small for a family of three, and the storage was lacking. There was only one wardrobe with very limited drawer space, so we simply couldn’t unpack three suitcases and ended up living out of them for the week. The staff throughout the hotel were friendly, welcoming and helpful, which really added to the experience. We appreciated how thorough the lifeguards were as some guests did try to take liberties by the pool and were swiftly told off. The man on the lobby bar was also so friendly and really lovely with our son. The only other downside was the cost of drinks. As half-board guests we expected to pay for them, but €11.50 for two Pepsis and one apple juice felt excessive. We ended up buying drinks from the supermarket across the road instead, which was much better value. Our five-year-old has absolutely loved the holiday. There is plenty to keep children entertained, making it a great choice for families. We would have liked to see a little more evening entertainment aimed at adults, as most of the activities seemed focused on children. Overall, this is a lovely hotel in a fantastic location with excellent staff and a relaxing atmosphere, particularly when it’s quieter. There are a few areas where attention to detail could be improved, particularly around housekeeping, cleanliness in the busier periods and room storage, but none of these outweighed the positives. We would happily return, although we’d probably choose a quieter time of year to enjoy the peaceful ambience we experienced at the start of our stay.
