Hotel Amathus Beach

A Canadian Army veteran, in the 1970s I did two tours with the UN in Cyprus. In 1974/75 during the troubles Amathus Beach was one of the only hotels to remain open so we used it a lot for 48 hour passes and even some for their 2 week leave. In 1978/79 things were mostly back to normal so my wife could come over for my leave, in February 1979. We spent the first week at Amathus Beach, then on to Paphos and Nicosia, where I was stationed. When we booked a cruise embarking in Limassol I suggested we spend two weeks in Cyprus before boarding. One day we took the city bus from our condo downtown out to the hotel. What a change from 1979 when there were only 2 hotels east of the city, and not much else. Now it's completely built up with high rises, very modern. When we entered the Kalypso dining room I mentioned to the hostess it was 47 years since we'd been there. She was shocked. A few minutes later a gentleman came over, reached out to shake my wife's hand, and said 'Welcome back'. My reply - 'you weren't here in 1979'. But he was. Mario was a very young waiter then, with a picture to prove it, and now supervised the main dining room. Had a great chat with him. Then a great lunch, with the best white, recommended by our server, that we've had since arriving here. They do some decent wines now, unlike in the 1970s! Spoke to several other senior staff who were intrigued by our visit, one in particular who helped us locate the dining room from 1979, now a room for large events. Also spoke to some younger staff who were curious about what things were like in the old days! Overall great hotel, great memories, great lunch, great staff! Thanks for making our trip down memory lane so special.

My stay at the Amathus Beach Hotel Limassol was nothing short of exceptional. From the moment I arrived, I was met with a level of warmth, professionalism and attention to detail that truly sets this hotel apart. The resort itself is stunning, immaculately maintained, beautifully designed and perfectly positioned along the coastline. Every element, from the elegant rooms to the incredible dining experiences and serene pool areas, reflects luxury and comfort at its finest. What truly elevated my experience, however, was the outstanding leadership of the Resort Manager, Efthymios Katsenios. His presence is felt throughout the hotel, ensuring every guest is cared for with genuine hospitality and excellence. Efthymios goes above and beyond to create a welcoming atmosphere and his dedication to delivering a flawless guest experience is truly remarkable. The service across the entire team was impeccable, attentive, friendly and always willing to go the extra mile. It’s rare to find a place where everything feels so effortlessly perfect. The pools were lovely, although the Children’s pool was closed and the main pool was on the cold side. However the heated indoor pool was great for the children to swim in. Kids Club facilities are amazing, equipped with soft play and extensive activities. Children have to be 4yrs old to be left unattended, however you can gain access to supervise younger children. If you’re looking for a luxurious, relaxing, and unforgettable stay in Cyprus, the Amathus is simply unmatched. I cannot recommend it highly enough and will absolutely be returning in the peak season.

Amathus have the best location at all! The Atmosphere there is just amazing. Rooms are very clean with a nice design behind it. Noise level is just the waves from the sea. Great service management. It's worth every vacation. The amenities gives you what you need it in every angle.

Staying at the Amathus Beach Hotel Limassol, was a great experience and we highly recommend it. The whole environment was so friendly and warm, making us feel welcomed at all places. Personnel were amazing kind and very willing to help at all times. The room and all the places we visited were extremely clean. Thank you Amathus hotel for making our short holidays beautiful. We will be back for sure.

We stayed at this 5 star hotel in for a weekend escape as a couple, and it exceeded all our expectations. Everything was amazing from start to finish. The highlight was definitely the staff! So friendly and welcoming, especially Michael the porter, who was incredibly kind and helpful. Our sea view room was beautiful, with a breathtaking view, and the breakfast had everything and more we could have asked for. We will definitely be returning! Highly recommended.
