Hotel Grecian Bay

This hotel is bizarre would be a 2 star on a good day. Starts at check in with not even a smile or any glimmer of personality, Then they take you to your room and it’s like walking the corridors of a public hospital In fairness the Junior suite was very nice which was a relief considering we had paid over 700 euros per night Next we went to the pool area for lunch firstly we tried the grill but were put off by the guy behind the counter waving his arms and shouting at everyone no service no service we are takeaways 😅 we then ventured to the restaurant by this stage we could see what type of experience we were in for so I decided to play safe and order a Pizza…., well what a great plate of disappointment it was 😭 We decided to leave early so checked out at 8am despite the fact we had paid 700 €+ for the next night. On checkout there was no query as to why infact the lady could barely speak Also around the pool and beach area we saw more litter than our entire trip around Cyprus

We stayed here for 2 weeks at the end of August, this is an honest review. The hotel is in a fantastic location, on the beach and close to Ayia Napa centre. The sunbed allocation system is great, if you're not happy where you are then the helpful staff will move you if possible. The only thing is the sunbeds are really close together so you can't move them at all, you're nearly touching the person next to you. The pool itself is a really good size, it desperately needs cleaning the grout between the tiles is green. Our room was large and we had a seaview, our cleaner was a lovely lady and did a fab job. The room was dated and a bit shabby in places, we were in the west wing. The beach club does good cocktails and food, this can be delivered to your sunbed if you prefer. The cats are well looked after there, they have a feeding station and you can feed them there if you like. The hotel staff do feed them as well. Please take biscuits and water with you when you leave the hotel for all the other stray cats. We feel the hotel needs renovating as it's dated in all areas. Lovely staff and very clean. We wouldn't return as we don't feel its worth what we paid and wouldn't class it as 5 star. There are better hotels, in our opinion, in Ayia Napa for the price paid. There is a shuttle bus that will take you to Grecian Park and you can use all the facilities there, well worth doing. All that said, we did enjoy our holiday.

Stayed for 10 nights bed & breakfast, with side sea view. We arrived late at night I have to be honest I was a bit disappointed with our room 560 in the west wing. After seeing the pictures on the website & you tube it didn’t look the same at all, furniture was a bit dated and worn in places, bathroom was modern, room was cleaned to a high standard everyday and towels changed, we left 2 bath robes to be changed but only 1 was replaced, when we opened the curtain to go onto the balcony the hooks at the top came loose it was like that until we left. The carpets along the corridor had lots of stains not sure if the west wing is due to be refurbished like the rooms on the website Breakfast was fantastic so much choice we always went 7.30am plenty of tables to sit in or outside. Grill bar food really good huge portions The sunbed booking system is a brilliant idea worked really well Last but not least the staff! each & everyone is amazing they are all friendly & nothing is too much trouble. We would definitely stay here again but upgrade to a sea view room not in the west wing

Fabulous holiday. We were treated exceptionally well by the hotel. We emailed well in advance and we were treated to sea views and rooms next door for the kids. That was a lovely start but the real gem was having 4 sun beds at the front of the beach for our fortnight. That was lovely. The food is very good, the service from the likes of Stelios, Afonso, Sami and everyone at the beach bar really made it a lovely break. We hired a car to visit Protarus, went on a beautiful boat trip, did the water park and really made the most of the hotel’s exceptional location for restaurants. I love this place.

The hotel is awesome in many ways . Location just outside Ayia Napa was perfect , close enough to walk into town and get dinner or hit the square (10 mins) but also just on the edge so quiet at night. Little shop on your door step that sold most things like beach stuff , alcohol , snacks etc . Pharmacy next door for those unwanted holiday problems . Looking out to sea , to your left a lovely beach bar , didn’t eat there but done small plates like hot dogs and burgers as well as smoothies and alcoholic drinks if you think you’ve not drank enough the night before 🤪 . To your right a huge club like bar that plays chilled house type music all day and most of the night . Lovely food and a nice chilled atmosphere through the day . Music is far enough away to not disturb you if you don’t want it to . Beach is gorgeous, lovely golden sand and the sea was out of this world , crystal clear and the warmest I’ve been in . Many days it was like a huge pond it was so still ! Hotel itself is fully air conditioned, as soon as you walk in from any door it hits you , very impressed . We left our room at 20 degrees all holiday and the double hit of cold ac when entering the room was the best feeling ever . We did stay in August so the heat was quite something 🥵 On that note I must say the pool was too warm . I don’t think it was heated so maybe they can’t control it when it’s 37 degrees every day but it’s wasn’t refreshing at that time of year . Slightly disappointed with the hotel in some areas , I think 4 star would be more appropriate only because 5 star is the best of the best and it lacked some luxury but wouldn’t put me off going there again in any way . Evening entertainment is non existent which is a real shame . I think there was some sort of Spanish type dancers on one night by the pool which didn’t look great . Just some live music on a few nights wouldn’t have gone a miss , could hear various other hotels putting on a good night but we didn’t get one on our weeks stay . Staff were all amazing , the private beach guys did an amazing job of keeping us fed and watered , order from the app to your sun bed and they were there with your order in record time , the girls making up the rooms done a great job every day . Beds were extremely comfy and the staff at breakfast cleared unwanted plates almost as soon as you’d finished . Breakfast was 10/10 in my opinion. Overall the hotel was extremely clean and well managed . The staff were always happy and couldn’t do enough for you . The beach is lovely , one of the best I’ve stayed on and location is perfect . Might not hit the full five stars as far as luxury goes but everything else exceeded the five stars, we will definitely return , thank you Grecian Bay for making our trip to Cyprus a memorable one
