After spending thousands of pounds on what was supposed to be a relaxing family holiday, we left feeling completely disappointed, frustrated and exhausted. This was, without question, the worst hotel experience we have ever had. I genuinely do not understand how this hotel is advertised as a 4 star property. Within the first half an hour of arriving, we had to be moved from our original room because of the condition it was in. We were relocated from the apartments to another block, which was still completely unsuitable. Throughout our stay, we experienced numerous problems, including cockroaches, broken facilities, poor cleanliness, unpleasant odours, stained ceilings, a lack of lighting, inadequate air conditioning, overflowing bins, missing towels and rooms that were simply not fit for purpose. The hotel itself appeared dirty, neglected and desperately in need of renovation. Everywhere you looked, there were signs of deterioration, temporary repairs and poor maintenance. We later discovered that the hotel had been closed since the Covid pandemic and had only recently reopened, which certainly explained the condition of the building. The food was another huge disappointment. There was very little choice, flies were constantly landing on food in the restaurant, and the overall hygiene standards left us feeling extremely uncomfortable. We personally witnessed food being transported from another hotel and left outside before being served. The snack bar was no better. Food was frequently cold and staff members were seen smoking close to the food preparation area. We ended up spending a considerable amount of money eating elsewhere because we simply didn’t feel comfortable eating in the hotel. The pool was equally disappointing. The water was often cloudy, debris floated on the surface and the floor felt slippery underfoot and later discovered glass at the bottom of the pool. The lack of customer service was perhaps the most frustrating part of the experience. Despite asking repeatedly to speak to the manager, our requests were ignored for days. When I finally managed to meet him on our 9th day, he told me that he had been completely unaware of the issues because messages had not been passed on to him. One particular member of staff at reception was especially rude, responding to our concerns by saying, “What’s your problem? This is what you’ve paid for.” To make matters worse, alarms sounded repeatedly throughout the night of of the nights , leaving guests standing on balconies trying to work out what was happening. The alarms were eventually disabled altogether, which was extremely concerning from a health and safety perspective. We also received little support while we were still at the hotel. Despite countless complaints, the problems continued throughout our stay. The only positive thing I can say is that the location itself is absolutely beautiful. Protaras is stunning, and several local businesses completely rescued our holiday. The staff at Station Bar, Pani’s restaurant, the local kebab shop, Tipsy o Turtle and the local supermarkets were all incredibly welcoming, friendly and helpful. They provided the level of customer service we had expected from the hotel itself. We spent thousands of pounds on what should have been a wonderful family holiday, yet our children were asking to go home early. Instead of creating happy memories, we spent our time chasing clean towels, reporting faults, buying food elsewhere and trying to get somebody to listen to our concerns. The people of Protaras were fantastic, but unfortunately the same cannot be said for this hotel. We would never return, and I would strongly advise anyone considering booking the Marlita Beach Hotel to think very carefully before doing so. A beautiful location simply cannot make up for an experience like this.

One of the most wonderful hotels we've ever stayed. The hotel location was amazing. The staff were very helpful and always to help. Breakfast was plentiful with a wide variety of choices. All the meals were excellent. The rooms were always clean. We already booked our next holidays at Marlita . Thank you for a wonderful vacation....

DONT GET RIPPED OFF GOING HERE KEEP YOUR HARD EARNED CASH !!! I honestly don’t know how this hotel is rated 4 stars. After spending thousands on what was supposed to be a family holiday, we left feeling completely ripped off and disappointed. This was easily one of the worst hotel experiences we have ever had, and it got to the point where my children actually wanted to come home. The food was diabolical, with very little choice, but what made it even worse was seeing flies landing on the food in the restaurant. My 10-year-old son actually put his empty plate down and said he couldn’t eat because seeing the flies on the food was making him feel sick. I reported this to a member of staff, who simply said “OK” and walked off in the opposite direction. Absolutely disgusting. We also personally saw food being brought around the back of the hotel from Anastasia and left sitting on metal trolleys before it was served at Marlita. Seeing this did nothing to reassure us about the food or the way it was being handled. The snack bar was just as bad. Staff were sitting around the bar smoking, with cigarette smoke blowing towards the food area. When you eventually get food, you can’t even take it back to your sunbed because it is served on a porcelain plate and you have to sit at the tables. On one occasion I ordered nuggets and they were freezing cold. I asked for some salt and the member of staff put their hand into a bowl underneath the counter and sprinkled it directly onto my food. This completely put us off eating there. They also ran out of certain drinks on several occasions, and the music around the pool bar was full of swear words, which I found completely inappropriate for a hotel marketed as a family hotel. There was virtually no atmosphere and the pool was another major disappointment. The water was cloudy and there was debris floating on the surface. As you walked into the pool, the slope felt slimy and slippery, and you had to be extremely careful not to slip. After the first day we simply stopped using the pool and went to the sea instead. The rooms were disgraceful — extremely dated, poorly maintained and full of obvious bodged repairs. The cleaning was also nowhere near the standard you would expect. The bathroom sink wasn’t even properly wiped, the floor was brushed, rubbish was taken away and on occasions we were left without towels. Our sheets were only changed once during a two-week stay, which is completely unacceptable. The restaurant was also uncomfortably hot. There was an air-conditioning leak which caused me to slip, and the problem was not properly dealt with. Everywhere you looked there were signs of the hotel being dated, broken and generally run down. If I had paid for a 2-star hotel, I would perhaps have had different expectations. But I paid for a 4-star family holiday and the experience was nowhere near what I would expect from a 4-star hotel. We spent thousands on this holiday and instead of relaxing and enjoying ourselves, we were dealing with dirty facilities, poor food, flies, smoking around food, inadequate cleaning, uncomfortable rooms and a pool we didn’t feel comfortable using. The fact that my children wanted to leave says everything. The only positive thing I can say is the location, which is lovely. Unfortunately, a good location does not justify the rest of the experience. We would never stay here again and I would strongly advise anyone considering booking this hotel to think very carefully. Don’t make the same mistake we did.

i have recently came back from the hotel , I just want to say that I was really impressed with everything . The staff is very professional and friendly always ready to help , drinks are lovely they are very good and the view it’s amazing . I could definitely say the money are worth it . Clean room with an amazing sea view always clean we had our towels toilet paper shower gels soaps changed every day . thank you very much guys.
