TUI BLUE Makarska

Fantastic hotel with excellent service. The location is very good by the water front. Lost to see in the region and the little town has a great atmosphere. Very nice room with big terrasse and beatiful view.

Bit of a detailed one here, but this hotel deserves it. Me and partner have just come back from the most amazing week here celebrating a couple of special occasions. From the get go the hotel went out of their way to make it special for us; a lovely note and treats in the room, friendly service and just generally a great time. The room was private and quiet. Handy hint, if you like it cold at night (which we do) if you have a room not in the main building you have more control over the air con. We kept the room at 18 degrees and it was perfect. We had the best night sleep. A note for newer couples the bathroom isn’t properly seperated from the main space; it’s just a swing door. We didn’t mind but more private people may. The hotel itself is stunning and in the most beautiful surroundings. The views are to die for and we saw 2 dolphins on our first day! We spent most of our time at the beach or by the infinity pool, we didn’t like the other pool as much. The pool is fab and we found the odd occasion where we could have it to ourselves. Also highly recommend renting the day bed; it’s a super private space with service and was a really lovely experience and space. The Bali beds were also lovely but felt a bit too close to each other for our preference. The pool and pool bar does close at 6; we noticed another couple getting a bit upset by this. Would suggest keeping the sunset bar open til sunset! It’s such a beautiful space it’s a shame it closes so early. The beach is also just stunning; so incredible - it does add up a bit as 30 euro a day for 2 beds and an umbrella but it’s worth it for holiday and the gorgeous views and sea if you make a day of it. We didn’t have too much food at the hotel so can’t comment massively; we had some of the bar food and that was lovely with beautiful views again. For breakfast; food is good, what you’d expect from a buffet with lots of options. Only frustration is that it’s advertised from 7-11 but the food is packed up at 10, even if a lot of it is left. I’d suggest either changing the times until 10 or to leave the food out til 10:30/11am. We went into the Igrane promenade for every dinner and can highly recommend doing the same; Croatian culture and food is incredible and should be enjoyed! The highlight of our stay was the service. Honestly I cannot thank everyone member of staff enough for how utterly wonderful they were. Special shout out to Yossip on reception who gave us a great tour and olive oil tasting, Renato at the culinariun for just being kind and lovely and giving great service, Marin for being so so helpful and hilarious, also (and I’m sorry I didn’t get everyone’s names) the girls on reception who were so welcoming, the girls on the bar and just generally the whole team. You are a credit to the hotel. Thank you all. The final bit of feedback for the hotel (which likely sits with the owners really); the hotel is kept very very clean by the onsite team but it’s in need of a decor update; lots of missing tiles around the swimming pool, staining on the walls, broken bits here and there. I think it was built about a decade ago but dedicating some time and money to updating this would go a long way. If in doubt; book this holiday. It’s the best we’ve even been on and we’re already planning a return ❤️❤️❤️

Weeks stay here we loved this hotel, please note if you want to stay in Makarska this hotel is not there, Igrane is a small beautiful fishing village of you’re looking for a peaceful holiday this is it! Hotel lovely staff all very nice beautiful terrace to have drinks on, lovely views of your balcony is in the right place Pool area really nice able to get sunbeds Beach lovely but no private beaches in Croatia think it was 25€ beds and brolly which is a lot if you want to go every day We only had bed and breakfast and found the breakfast to be really good loads of choice guy cooking fresh eggs each day Housekeeping could do to clean balconies each day as you get a lot of swifts visiting which make a mess ours wasn’t swept for a couple of days We found it hard to get from Igrane to anywhere else the best mode of transport seems to be boat, we went on the Germain boat-advertised as you walk through Igrane to hvar island, you could go other places too including makarska, not many busses taxis expensive would have to be organised tours if going anywhere really Go to skif restaurant it’s the best but we ate at a few different ones and all good similar prices to uk €4-5 a pint Would love to go back

Absolutely amazing hotel and location. Would come back in a heartbeat. It is secluded and £30 euros each way to Makarska but it has its own little promenade, bakery and gelato. No hassle, it’s the most beautiful beautiful place and absolutely gutted to be leaving. The staff who work in the hotel drinks bar are also amazing and constantly go over and above. Truly fabulous and an asset to the team. The breakfast was also good, we would recommend walking to local shops to get drinks as can be expensive by the pool all day.

Bit of a mixed bag. Firstly, the hotel is in a great location, with a nearby village and harbour / sea front, and a great public beach. The staff are really welcoming and friendly. The hotel is kept very clean and tidy. There's plenty of shade from the pine trees in the hotel grounds if the sun gets too much. The excursions that we went on were really good and very interesting. Some of the odd things. TUI say that their hotels reflect the surroundings that they're in. Just corporate blandness including the rooms as far as we could see. You would have to look hard to say you were in Croatia. Upon arrival, our room had a couple of issues. The wooden slats in the bottom of the bed had fallen out so the mattress collapsed as soon as you sat on it. I made a temporary DIY repair. The basin plug was jammed. I reported these issues to reception on two occasions during our stay but no repairs were made? The hotel does not serve lunches or even any snacks, so it's a case of nil-by-mouth until evening dinner. However, there's a good local supermarket for snacks. And the local family run restaurants on the harbour-side are amazing. We lunched in these places and took most of our evening meals here, as they are great value for money, really lovely food, free after dinner liquors and they supply tap water for free!, which the hotel doesn't? In the evenings you have to pay for water! But don't let these niggles put you off. The hotel has a really nice calm atmosphere. They get in some great evening entertainment. The surrounding area is amazing. The sea water is crystal clear and will really revive you on a hot day! And do make use of the local restaurants!
