Marko Polo Maradiso Hotel by Aminess

My partner and I booked a 7-night stay at the Marko Polo Hotel, paying €2000 with the expectation of a premium 4-star experience. What we received was barely on par with a neglected 2-star motel. From the moment we arrived, the experience was completely unacceptable. We had to carry our own luggage to the room, which immediately fell short of standard hotel classifications. We were promised a sea-view room, which was not provided. When our travel agency contacted the hotel to rectify this error and arrange the promised upgrade, the front desk staff was incredibly rude, hostile, and flat-out refused to assist us. The room itself is in a deplorable state: - Cleanliness: The carpets, ceilings, and walls are all stained, old, and dirty. The housekeeping is severely lacking, as we found thick black dust left on the tables. - Safety & Fixtures: The tiny, outdated TV has its power outlet literally hanging out of the wall. The bedside lamp is so unstable and broken that it actually falls onto the bed. Elements of the sliding window track are completely broken off. - Poor Furniture Design: The closet door constantly pops open on its own because the poorly fitted safe door pushes against it from the inside. The nightstand lamp is so old that it leans over the bed, dropping on me sometimes. - Bathroom Hazards: The bathroom is so cramped and poorly designed that the door hits the toilet when you open it. Worse, the showerhead pops off its mount when the water is turned on, instantly flooding the bathroom floor. - Missing Amenities: It completely lacks standard 4-star amenities. There are no room slippers, no shower cap, no individual shampoo or conditioner - just a single, generic "all-in-one" body and hair soap dispenser bolted to the wall. Do not waste your money or your vacation time here. The 4-star categorization is entirely deceptive, the facilities are heavily degraded, and the customer service from the front desk is abysmal. Save your money and book elsewhere.

Excellent location, really helpful and friendly staff, fantastic pool area with a wonderful view. The hotel is quiet and clean. Great value for money. The rooms are a little dated but in our this opinion this just added to the charm of the place.

Do not stay here. Only thing good is the breakfast. Hotel in dire need of a full remodel. The staff at front desk was not friendly but always eyeing you. Rooms are subpar and I do not stay in fancy hotels but this facility is old and sad.

Very helpful and friendly staff that greater us with a smile from check-in to checkout! The room was very nice and worked out very well for our family! Outdoor pool area was beautiful and a great place to spend some quality family time! Located about a 10 min walk from the main part of the city so not too bad of a walk at all! Would definitely stay here again!

On first sight hotel lobby and general area are very good .pool area very good lovely views.But that’s when reality kicks in .We had booked a superior suite room 108 for any one else’s information .the first thing we needed after 12 hour journey was a shower the shower came apart in my arms piping broken shower head broken what water that came out of shower escaped through the seal flooding bathroom. Obvious signs of damp in ceiling above. Then there is an industrial sounding loud noise outside of room 24 hours a a day . Bathroom hadn’t been cleaned basket full of rubbish.We reported shower on 14th to reception and left on 21 May.the shower still broken when we left When we said about noise man on reception seemed oblivious and nothing was done .Korcula lovely but in all honesty find yourself another hotel to enjoy the island.
