Remisens Hotel Albatros

First of all I loved the location and the town of Cavtat is stunning. A short walk to the centre with an abundance of bars and restaurants. The hotel itself was ok, clean and relaxed atmosphere. The rooms are basic and quite small. The shower was pathetic, no pressure and the bathroom had a funky smell. The outdoor pools are freezing but that was more than likely the time of year. Indoor pool was fine but no changing facilities. On our second last day, returning from lunch we noticed our room had not been cleaned. I then noticed i must have left our room safe open and a sum of money had been taken (around 170 euros) we immediately reported this to reception, at first they seemed uninterested but after a while they summoned the manager. He assured us he would check the room log to see if anyone had been in after we left. He showed us the logs and was adamant nobody had been in but it was clear there was an entry where a cleaner had been in for 2 minutes and left without cleaning. The Manager was obviously aware and tried to cover this up. The police were contacted and the cleaner interviewed she gave a story to the Manager and a separate and completely different story to the Police. Without any solid evidence no further action was taken. Yes I was foolish to leave the safe open, however it does mean an invite to steal.

May 2026. This hotel has apparently no concept that you are paying them to stay there on holiday. Late last night there was a group making really excessive noise between 2 and 4am. I went to front desk who essentially shrugged but told me they'd send security up. Security was really reluctant and couldn't apparently find the room...I pointed to it through the window....it's the one with all the people shouting on the balcony..another guest appeared down to complain too as I was leaving. About 4am it stopped. Next morning, I tell reception staff , new team, who apologise and ask what want. I said a nights sleep tonight...he said he couldn't guarantee but they are checking out in another day so it's only another night .... A hotel that you pay a lot of money for a holiday with 3 kids and grandmother that cannot ensure you get a night's sleep? Incredible. Management just went " what do you expect us to do"....5 mins later a third woman passed me and said she too has complained last night & today with no satisfaction.... So, if you want to pay for a room in a hotel that they apparently have no control over then this is hotel for you....you get a room but after that it's not their problem. They have your money and then apparently have no ability to do anything when guests decide to do what they want. There are lots of nice hotels in the area, go to one of them instead. Total disappointment.

⭐⭐⭐⭐ Lovely Stay at the Albatros Hotel, Cavtat We’ve just returned from a wonderful stay at the Albatros Hotel in Cavtat and were really impressed with how easy everything was from start to finish. We flew with KLM from Norwich to Dubrovnik via Schiphol, and the whole journey was smooth. We booked our transfer through Booking.com for £18 — the driver was waiting for us on arrival and the hotel was only about eight minutes away. I also booked the return transfer at the same time, which made things very straightforward. On arrival, reception gave us exactly what we had booked: a clean, spacious room with a balcony and a beautiful sea view. As we arrived late, the hotel had kindly left a ham salad, fruit and bottled water in the room. There’s also a kettle with tea and coffee, although we tend to bring our own. A special mention goes to Mari Jana, who was incredibly helpful and gave us great ideas for things to do during our short stay. We bought return tickets for the Adriana boat, which leaves from the jetty right outside the hotel and takes around 40 minutes to reach Dubrovnik Old Town. You can take an Uber, but we preferred the scenic boat trip. Tickets were €20 per person return. Cavtat itself is a lovely 15‑minute stroll from the hotel, with bars, restaurants, supermarkets and a post office. There’s also a small shop inside the hotel. Our barman, Mato, was especially kind and full of helpful tips that made our stay even better. The restaurant is large and offers plenty of choice — meats, fish, pasta, salads, breads and desserts. As with most all‑inclusive hotels, it’s not Michelin‑star dining, but the food is plentiful and varied. I personally found the dessert selection a little limited, mostly the small creamy cakes you often see in similar hotels. A couple of small negatives: I’m not keen on seeing children (and occasionally adults) touching food with their hands, especially the pizzas. People would tear pieces off rather than using the utensils provided. This isn’t the staff’s fault, but perhaps offering pre‑cut slices or having a staff member at each station would help. I also noticed a single ant on the table on two occasions, and some old food under one of the serving units. The restaurant overall looks very clean and the staff are genuinely lovely, but a quick move and mop under the units would make a difference. Despite these minor issues, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would happily return to the Albatros. Overall, I would give it 4 stars.

As a returning guest after 10 years, but now with restricted mobility. Having visited the hotel previously I was aware of most restrictions I may encounter. Accessibility to the restaurant is now available from reception by lift instead of stairs, much easier for mobility restricted and children in pushchairs. Check in was quick and efficient, and I was allocated room 339 which is close to the lifts, but no lift noise, perfect for mobility restricted, I would have that room if possible when we return. The room was kept clean by room staff with a change of bedding on day 4, and towels by request. Grounds were clean and tended daily by ground staff. The only mobility problem encountered was the electronic gate exit to the beach on to the public road, there is a high kerb both sides of the gate which requires assistance from the pool staff to open the locked twin gate to allow exit or entry to the hotel area. Pool staff were always available and helpful to help with the locked gate. All staff were helpful and pleasant, a special thankyou to Dani and Mato at the bar who helped make an excellent holiday, always greeted you with a smile. On our first trip out to Cavtat I was helped by Srdjan of pool staff, to exit to outside by the indoor pool. There was a step of 50mm which caused exit problems with my small mobility scooter, next day there was a nice new ramp which made exit and entry easy, thanks to Srdjan. Food was plentiful and kept topped up and fresh, there was something for all tastes and was of a good standard for every meal. The standard of the hotel is much better than it was 10 years ago, clean and fresh looking with excellent staff and of very good value for money We look forward to our next visit which is now dependant on mobility, as it was one of out best holiday breaks in the last few years.

We had a really great stay at this hotel. We arrived late at night, so it was a lovely surprise to find that food had been left for us in the room. The all-inclusive food was tasty and varied enough, so there was always something good to eat. The hotel is quite large, but still very clean and peaceful, which we really appreciated. The reception staff were especially friendly and helpful, and the same goes for the rest of the staff too. The location worked well for us. The walk to Cavtat center didn’t bother us. In April, the beach area nearby was still quiet, which actually made the stay even more relaxing. Overall, a very enjoyable and calm stay. We would definitely recommend it!
