Having previously been to Croatia quite a few times I have always wanted to stay at this particular TUI Blu hotel as I do love the Croatian islands. We stayed 10 nights from June 12 and had an absolutely wonderful time here. The set up was very well organised and everything ran perfectly from first day until the last. After arriving at Gruz harbour we had to wait about an hour and a half for the public ferry over to Kolocep, which was fine as there is a place there to sit and get refreshments, then a half hour boat ride to the island, then a short stroll along the front to the hotel. Check in all very easy with lovely friendly and helpful staff on the desk and great room 424 overlooking the tops of a couple of villas out to sea and the mountains. Room kept perfect all week by the staff, and all the cleaning/Bell boys/maintenance staff are a credit to the hotel. Yes there are quite a few steps and slopes around, but if you dont have any mobility issues then this should not pose a problem, and will certainly help keep you trim!! The hotel itself is kept perfectly clean with a lovely pool out front,a lovely temperature too and the beach and sea in front of that with plenty of sun loungers and parasols on both. The sea is great for swimming too so perfect for lovely relaxing days at either. The island itself is car free, which is lovely and there are some great hikes across and around the island, but bring some decent walking shoes for this as it can get quite steep and loose underfoot in parts. There are a couple of bars around the other side of the island and a couple close to the harbour by the hotel which were great with lovely views of the sunset from and the culinarium restaurant next to these which includes a free meal there with your stay. There is also villa Rosa close by the hotel to the left as you walk out of the hotel but we were home the day before they had a bbq there with drinks included for 38 euros, which we would have definitely tried, and it sits on the peninsula with lovely views out to sea and over to Lopud island, which is well worth getting the ferry to as having stayed there before we really like this island and it has more bars and restaurants to try so nice for a change and it has a long sandy beach on the other side, think this is called Sunji beach and there are also boat trips that can be booked to go there and also to the blue and green caves for snorkeling, which we loved. Very easy to book trips from either the hotel reception of the lady sitting just along from the hotel. The hotel itself puts on entertainment during the day and evening, the usual things like aqua dance, water polo and more pool games and games on the beach and around the grounds and also music in the evenings and quizzes and musical bingo too all run by Teejay and the fitness instructor.Great guys and very engaging.Coctail making too.Maybe ask Martin at the bar for his pink one!! The restaurant is lovely with great views over the bay,and Martin the manager does a great job running it.All the staff in the restaurant work so hard and are all so friendly too,and i wish i could shout out to all of them but I can't remember their names but Toni we loved, always had a laugh and a smile and ofcourse how could we ever forget Patricia, such a special lady with a fantastic sense of humour, and time for you always,She even had a special name for me,something to do with my suntan!! Also the lady at the 4 elements cocktail bar was great and that's such a nice place to relax after 6 in the evening. So all in all a great place to stay, can't honestly think of anything negative. Would I go back? Can't believe i came home!! Thankyou to all at Kalomoto island xx

The island is beautiful and so unspoilt. There are always sun loungers at the beach/pool. The food can be a bit repetitive but you can always find something to eat and the salads were delicious. A big thank you to Marek who was really helpful before I arrived and also Patricia who was always there with a smile and to chat. I had a sea view room and would recommend the view was stunning

A lovely hotel! Our holiday began with a very smooth transfer from Tui, with a small wait at the port for the ferry. When we arrived on the island we were blown away by the beauty and then again by the hotel. It was clean, comfortable with amazing staff - especially the bartender with red hair at the 4 Elements Bar who made the best cocktails (especially the Aperol Spritz!). Maybe the best company were the two cats who roamed the hotel grounds. The selection of food was very tasty, big fans of the chocolate cake, but did lack variation from day to day. That’s why a trip to the Culinarium is a must - one dinner is included. All in all the hotel is wonderful and would highly recommend. Kolocep itself is amazing. If you fancy a quieter beach day, head across the island to Cathy’s Beach. There is a small shop by the port to buy snacks and swimming googles. Make sure you bring a lot of water as it gets hot. Dubrovnik is one ferry ride away and a nice, busy day out which makes the peace and tranquility of Kalamata Island more profound.
