A Wonderful Holiday! We Will Definitely Be Back! We had an amazing holiday, and this place absolutely deserves another visit! The pool, the beaches, the food, the drinks, EVERYTHING IS AMAZING! A heartfelt thank you to all the staff who made our vacation truly unforgettable. Special thanks go to the wonderful and always smiling waiters Georgi, Borjan, and Stefani. And an extra special thank you to Bojana, who went above and beyond to make our holiday even more enjoyable. Besides being highly professional, her warm communication and beautiful smile always brightened our day and made every meal a pleasure. The bartenders were equally outstanding. Mar, Aleks, Zvonko, our lovely Mirjana, and the wonderful Angel were always welcoming and full of positive energy. Angel is polite, cheerful, and incredibly friendly, and his cocktails were even better than we could have imagined. You could find him at almost every bar — from the Pool Bar and Mojito Bar to the 4 Elements Bar — always serving drinks with care, passion, and a smile. Once again, we would like to thank every member of the staff. They truly deserve all the praise for making our stay so special. Without a doubt, we will be coming back!

Our second visit to the property, although not our favourite TUI Blue for Two property, we loved the location on our previous visit so decided to return. We flew on a TUI flight that arrived on a Sunday morning, there were other flights that landed at the same time and we had to hang around at Gruz port for approximately an hour waiting for other guests to arrive before the private boat transfer to the island departed. When you arrive on Kolocep it is a short walk to the hotel. At this point I would like to stress that anyone with any kind of mobility issue will struggle with the location, from getting on/off the boat to walking around the hotel which requires navigating inclines and steps to get to the accommodation blocks and facilities. There are no lifts and lots of trip hazards. We arrived ahead of the official check in time, but perfectly timed for lunch, so had a bite to eat. When we had finished our meal our room was ready, but our bags had not, so we were grateful that we took swimwear and the necessary accessories as hand luggage so that we could immediately relax. Tip: do not remove the airline’s luggage label when you arrive in Dubrovnik, this is used to marry up your baggage to your room. We had booked a standard double room, it was spacious and airy, although fixtures and fittings are looking very tired (we had a door missing from our wardrobe). There is some hanging space (hangers are in short supply) and drawers, with a safe provided free of charge in the wardrobe, and an umbrella too. There should be a ‘Do not disturb’ sign in the room, we did not have one until we requested from reception. There is no amenity kit in the bathroom, the hairdryer is adequate. Bathroom towels just about cover your modesty and were stained. The balcony is small, it accommodates 2 chairs with a small table and affords no privacy from adjacent rooms. The fridge contained 2 bottles of water upon arrival that could be refilled from the dispenser at the entrance to the villa. There is a kettle, tea and coffee were initially supplied but thereafter we had to help ourselves to rations from the restaurant. Pool towels are provided in reception, again, not always spotlessly clean. The pool is clean, opens at 0800 every morning at which point towels are laid down, it is supposed to be a no smoking area but this is not policed and vapers were in abundance. The snack bar is like a self-service kiosk at a dodgy motorway service station. The lovely small beach outside the property is public so it does get busy with day trippers (including children!) We are not big drinkers, the beer and wine were acceptable, but on the whole the choice was of poor quality especially the soft drinks, local brands are used which are extremely sugary. If you want hot drinks you have to help yourself from the vending machines in the restaurant 24/7 (this also applies at meal times). Tap water is perfectly safe to drink. The quality of the food was good, sometimes it could have been hotter, but it did become repetitive as the week progressed. Flies are a major nuisance in the indoor section of the dining room, it would have been nice if the dead ones could have been removed from the windowsill and a solution found to prevent them sitting on food when it comes out of the kitchen. We went to the culinarian and had a very good meal, it’s a great option to get a change of scenery. There is a full activity package available during the day. The evening entertainment is average, there is no waiter service for drinks, empties don’t seem to be collected nor are tables wiped clean, chairs are uncomfortable and beware of the mosquitoes. We jumped on the local ferry and visited the neighbouring islands of Lopud and Sipan, both are well worth a visit, only around EUR 8 per person for a return trip. I can recommend the lunch box provided by the hotel which can be requested using the Blue App if you want a picnic on your travels. My major issue during our stay was the room security - upon arrival our door would not lock, the receptionist’s solution was that we just had to slam it shut! The maintenance team were however deployed and it was fixed - only to fail again within 24 hours and once more the following day. The receptionist’s attitude every time we reported it was very lackadaisical and I am thankful to TJ, TUI’s exceptional representative, for his understanding of our concerns and his very prompt assistance in resolving the problem (a key was provided which then highlighted the fact that you can’t actually lock the room from inside if you only have a key card for access). TUI’s rating system is not consistent, we have been spoilt at other 4* TUI Blue for Two properties that are far superior to Kalamota Island, we did however enjoy our stay because we knew what to expect. There are some minor niggles that I have mentioned that with minimal effort could make the experience so much more comfortable. Given the stunning location, the short flight time and the amount that is available to see and do in the area I am sure we would consider returning again.

From the very first moment we arrived on the island, we knew this holiday would be something special. The peaceful atmosphere, crystal-clear sea, beautiful surroundings, and excellent organization created the perfect place to relax and enjoy every single day. The entire team deserves recognition for making our stay so memorable. Everyone was welcoming, professional, and genuinely committed to ensuring that every guest felt comfortable and appreciated. A special thank you goes to the Housekeeping team, who kept our room spotless throughout our stay. Their attention to detail, cleanliness, and dedication did not go unnoticed and made us feel at home every day. The Food & Beverage team was simply outstanding. Every meal was made even more enjoyable thanks to the professionalism and kindness of the waiters. We would especially like to thank Toni, Borjan, Georgi, Stefani, and Patricija, who were always friendly, attentive, and happy to help. Our biggest appreciation goes to Bojana. She truly stood out with her warm personality, genuine kindness, and constant smile. She was always attentive, communicative, and made every dining experience feel personal. Her professionalism and positive attitude are exactly what great hospitality is all about. The bartenders also deserve the highest praise. A big thank you to Martin, Mar, Aleks, Dime, Zvonko, and Mirjana for their excellent service and friendly atmosphere. Finally, we would like to give special recognition to Angel, who made every visit to the bar a memorable experience. Whether at the Pool Bar, Mojito Bar, or 4 Elements Bar, he always welcomed guests with a smile and prepared every cocktail with exceptional skill and genuine passion. His professionalism, positive energy, and friendly communication made him one of the highlights of our holiday. It is the people who make a hotel truly exceptional, and this team is a perfect example of that. Thank you to everyone for your hard work, dedication, and kindness. You turned our vacation into an unforgettable experience. We highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a relaxing holiday with outstanding service, and we will definitely be returning!
