Camping Park Umag

We recently returned from a family stay at Camping Park Umag. There were 6 of us in total, myself, my wife, three adult children, and a 13-year-old this was without a car, flying into Trieste and getting a transfer. For this trip, we booked a Eurocamp Premium mobile home, and the accommodation was absolutely great. It looked completely new, modern, and clean. The Eurocamp staff on-site were incredibly friendly and welcoming from the start. We did have a minor issue with the hot water and drainage during our stay, but the team sorted it out straight away without any hassle, which we really appreciated. As for the park itself, the camp is absolutely beautiful. It’s incredibly clean, well-maintained, and massive in scale. You get direct access to the beach, and the water is genuinely crystal clear. Just keep in mind the beach is all rock with no sand, so swim shoes are a must (you can pick them up here for around €10). There’s a fantastic buzz along the waterfront with plenty of activities like tennis and volleyball, plus various water sports available and the inflatable aqua park for an extra fee. Over at the Canova Bay and pool area, things are stunning. The pool bar is great, and the restaurant right by Canova Bay was very reasonably priced, had great friendly service, and featured lovely live music with stunning views. We were also fortunate enough to be there for the campsite's official "Camping Day" celebration, which was a fantastic evening of entertainment. The night kicked off with some great live music, followed by a brilliant fire show, and finished with a truly spectacular fireworks display. It was a brilliant highlight of the trip. However, being here as a family of six without a vehicle highlighted a few distinct drawbacks you need to prepare for. First, the on-site prices are very expensive. It seems since our last visit to Croatia, and since the introduction of the Euro, everything has gotten significantly more expensive generally. The two on-site supermarkets are basic; they have most of what you need, but the selection is limited and the prices for basic items are crazy. Approximate examples include €4 for Pringles, €5 for a tin of tuna, €3 for juice, a can of beer is around €2, and €8 for a box of ice cream. There are a number of bakery shops where a croissant is €2.25. There is nothing directly outside the camp either, and the couple of supermarkets further out carry similar price tags, around a 10 to 15-minute walk. While bike hire is available, the pricing is completely unreasonable. It’s €20 to €25 a day (from 10am to 7pm), and hiring bikes for a family of six for our stay was going to rack up €900, so it simply wasn’t an option for us. On top of that, you need to bring cash with you as well. Some shops and bars do not accept cards at all, and the on-site ATMs hit you with a hefty fee of around €6 per withdrawal, so bring some cash with you. If you want a sun lounger or umbrella by the pool, expect to pay a small daily charge of €4.50 and €4 respectively, though they have plenty of them and we were always able to secure them. The dining on-site is a bit of a mixed bag. No Name Street Food was expensive for what it actually was and just "okay." On the flip side, the restaurant in the center of the camp was very good and much better than expected, very reasonably priced, and served really tasty pizzas and pasta, fast food in area A was reasonable and the Laguna restaurant was very tasty. The Happy Drop cocktail bar has a lovely vibe, and Charlie’s Bar was another highlight, offering a great atmosphere and live music right on the shore. If you like an early morning walk like we do, be aware that almost nowhere opens for breakfast before 10am. The one great exception is the Netcaffe, which became our go-to for morning coffee, the staff here are lovely and it is very reasonable. There is also a brilliant little bar and shop beside the bakery in Area A that opens at 7am serving coffee. The staff there are incredibly friendly and accommodating, they’ll even put the GAA matches on the TV for you if you ask! A couple of minor infrastructure negatives to note: there is a noticeable lack of toilets. Some of the bars and restaurants don't even have their own restrooms, meaning you often face a bit of a walk just to find one. We also noticed a lack of security presence. It’s incredibly easy for non-guests to just walk into the camp. We were given paper sticky wristbands on arrival, but they fell off four out of six of us within days just from swimming. We noticed lots of people weren’t wearing them, and security never checked or asked anyone questions. One great tip if you want to explore on foot without a car: stay off the main road directly in front of the camp, as it has no footpath and isn't safe. Instead, walk along the waterfront towards Dajla, where you'll find a couple of wonderful, relaxing beach bars. In the opposite direction, you can walk through the campsite and take a small access road that leads straight into Lovrečica, which has some lovely restaurants and beach bars that offer great coffee with stunning views, this is well worth the walk. Ultimately, this is a great, fun, and beautiful campsite. The positives definitely outweigh any negatives, and we would absolutely come back. We just want to lay out the real costs so other families can prepare and budget accordingly!

We have stayed at Park Umag for three consecutive years, and until now we have always enjoyed our holidays here. Unfortunately, this year's stay was a huge disappointment. There was loud noise throughout the campsite until around 3:30 a.m., even though the campsite's own rules state that quiet hours begin at 11:00 p.m. It was almost impossible to get a good night's sleep. During the night, we could feel people crashing into our mobile home so hard that the entire unit shook. Shortly afterwards, we discovered several people on our terrace. They appeared to be heavily intoxicated. I immediately went outside, and they ran away as soon as they saw me. Thankfully, nothing was stolen, but the experience left us feeling very unsafe. The following morning, we reported everything to the reception, including the excessive noise, the people on our terrace, and the fact that they had crashed into our mobile home. The only response we received was that, if it happened again, we could call reception and they would send security. We expected a much more serious response to such an incident and a stronger commitment to enforcing the campsite's quiet hours and ensuring the safety of its guests. It is very disappointing to write this review because we have chosen Park Umag for our holidays three years in a row. However, after this experience, we no longer feel that we can enjoy a safe and peaceful holiday here. Sadly, this was our last stay at Park Umag, and we will not be returning.

Very dirty NEW pools!!! We were here the whole week they didn't clean the floor. There are beers under the sun loungers, patches, dirt comes out of the manholes. Lots of children, babies, I'm not surprised you get some bacteria on your skin. Very disappointed with the cleanliness of the pools. In other camps in Istria, as soon as they close the pool, they immediately clean the floor. Everything in Camp is very good, but pools very very bad. Such a large Camp **** could have better cleaning.

The majority of reviews for umag eurocamp park seem to be from people with caravans (when we had a caravan we used our own toilet and shower !!!) We were on a sun holiday in a static caravan ( chalet) it was spacious with a covered terrace , 2 toilets 3 bedrooms small but sufficient. The sea was a short walk, swimming pools good and the grounds were excellent, with men out daily from 9am cutting grass and keeping the place tidy. This is predominantly a German/ Austrian park, probably due to the proximity to both countries. They can get a little loud, but so can people of all nationality. I would definitely return. I cannot comment on the shop, as we went to lidl in umag, nor did we go to the beach bar as we sat on our terrace with wine. Eurocamp representative was helpful and informative.

lots of germans, loud!!!! no respect to others they are veryloud until the morning, bikes, rollers are run very very fast within the camping never again!
