Family Hotel Amarin

This is a lovely hotel, we are here now, for a week, full board. The grounds are well kept and facilities are thoughtful and well designed. The pools are not too deep and our children spent a lot of their time in the lazy river. The gaming room is a nice touch and we've not seen one of those before. There isnt really any entertainment programme, or a lot for kids aged 8-12. Our son usually plays a bit of football on holiday but there wasn't much going on in that respect. There was a good outdoor cinema, but its only once a week. This is at the higher end price wise for families, and full board opposed to all inclusive. Whilst we aren't bothered about alcohol being part of a package, I was surprised that given the marketing and price position, there were a few things missing which I would have expected having stayed in similar resorts. The most important being lack of water stations, or anywhere to fill water bottles. It is extremely hot here, and you have to ask at the bar for your water filling up. They clearly dont like doing it either. Coffee is only available at breakfast. The only reason I can deduce for this is they want you to pay to buy coffee for the rest of the day. I've never been to a hotel where coffee and soft drinks aren't complimentary or available throughout the day, even when not all inclusive. The food is nice, but repetitive and there is only ONE restaurant that is free. That said, it isnt over busy, and it was fine for the kids - which is the main reason we pick all inclusive or full board over self catering. Rovinj is worth a visit, we used both the land train and the water taxi, but expect extortionately priced tourist tat. Kids loved it, obviously 😆 On balance this is a lovely spot, but overpriced in comparison to other hotels we have experienced.

Our fifth and the last time at this hotel. The reception employees did not order the taxi for our departure to the Pula airport for our departure, prepaid, double checked from my side. Saturday 5am. Sleepy reception employee was not even able to order a new taxi, no contacts, so I had to order and pay private taxi, no safety children seats, killing speed. These all with my beloved four small children!!!! Six people were ready to the happy end of our vacation and one of Maistra employeed just totally messed up!!!!!!? Hope to catch our plane.

We visited this hotel for a family holiday through jet 2 holidays.On arrival the booking in process was fast and efficient.The hotel is geared up for children and there is so much for them to do.From climbing nets in reception to kids club,mini gym,games to play,swimming pools indoor and out to all sorts of activities in the grounds ie swings,slides,climbing frames etc.The beach is 50m away and is a blue flag beach and sun beds and umbrellas are free to hotel guests. The buffet food was the best quality we have had on any of our holidays.We stayed for 10 nights and the food was different over this period.The only negative was that the drinks machines were to slow and took three presses to fill a glass.My granddaughter had her 7th birthday while we were there and the hotel gave her a card,two balloons,a cake and a drinks mug with her name and age on it.She also twisted her ankle in the mini gym and they gave her a bag of ice to ease it but the next day they sent a get well note and some biscuits and fruit.The reception staff were so helpful with any problems and information you needed.We were a family of 6,2 grandparents,2 parents and 2 children ages ranging from 7 to 69 and us oldies did not feel out.of place.What a great holiday and hopefully we will be back in the future.

Fantastic resort. Can’t recommend enough for families especially with pre teenage children. Arrival. Parking is free and the car park was busy but we found never struggled to find a space. It’s about 10 mins north of Rovinj in a costal area that’s easy to find and really beautiful. Reception was great and there’s an indoor climbing rope area our son (aged 7) loved. Room Fantastic. We had 241. The view was amazing over the pool and sea and we benefitted from a bigger balcony as we were next to an emergency exit. The room was so comfy and well designed with a pull out kids bed we could put away easily in the day. Really spacious and fun with a kids wall they could make creations. Bathroom was great too and room service efficient. Food Buffet was plentiful and delicious. We never struggled for choice for us or our son. Tabes always free and queues not bad at all. Choice of indoor or outdoor seating and staff incredibly efficient. Hotel facilities. Kids at the heart of everything. There’s a ground floor with table football, kids gym, theatre with interactive screens and computer room we used. All great and a nice break from the sun. Bar area great also and prices reasonable. Pools Amazing and plenty of sunbeds. A shallow kids pool, lazy river and deep pool so plenty of choice. Nice bar area for paid drinks. Plenty of shade. Grounds Incredible. It’s impeccable maintained with loads of playgrounds. The private beaches are superb (stones not sand as per area). Bit smooth and walkable but I’d recommend aqua shoes. View of Rovinj incredible and water sports available. Really lovely and safe. Advice Water taxi from Amarin to Rovinj is really great way to arrive in the town. But there is also a small train from the hotel. Both reasonably priced and easier than parking. We had a car so did trips to Trieste in Italy (2hrs) and Piran in Slovenia (1.5 hrs). These were great and roads tolls are reasonable. Overall We would not hesitate to re book if returning to the area. It’s one of the best hotels we’ve been to and we travel 3/4 times a year as a family so I don’t say that lightly. The family feel is unrivalled and the amount of child friendly activities has really been prioritised here which in turn helps parents ! Mention to the staff too who work incredibly hard in all areas.

Travelled as an extended family group of 9 with 3 kids. The hotel is incredible for kids- endless entertainment, kids gym, trikes to hire, games room, kids club , kids beauty treatments (our eldest two had a massage) great food options, high chairs, bibs, weaning food etc play net in reception kept them occupied for ages! As adults we found it not so great at meeting our needs but were happy the kids were. The restaurant is like the Ikea Canteen and absolutely chaotic at times. Food for veggies was limited and drinks are from a machine (soft drinks are NOT coke etc) The bar on the terrace was beautiful but everything closed at 10:30. Lights off, no options of coffee after dinner. We ended up getting the land train into Revinj most nights as we couldn’t bear the food and were not able to sit together as a 9. Revinj itself is absolutely beautiful. Rooms were good, all facing the sea. Coffee shops to walk to along the coast. Restaurant cafe on the front doesn’t do food yet so no where to get kids a snack within the hotel. Could buy a drink and ice cream but that was it which we found tricky at times. The beach was lovely, never found hard to get beds and kayaked over to the island. Pool was busier and not our scene. We would return but would factor eating out in the cost. Lots of families I’m sure would be happy with the buffet but wasn’t for us. In all, the hotel for kids is incredible but adults do miss out at their expense. Service in hotel was great, no complaints. Weather was incredible and we had a lovely week. Be prepared for the insane passport queue at Pula airport!
