Great hotel friendly staff. Shout out for our room service Mohammed Hasheen, Amr from animation, the towel guys the waiters and kithen staff who's tireless effort from early morning till guests go to bed just to please you. Thankyou. A reminder a small tip goes along way with these people and they'll make your holiday special. Remember they do this everyday for a tiny fraction of what most people earn and I mean small. Tipping is not expected but very much appreciated, so be generous, they will take sterling, dollar and Euros.

Hanane (guest relations) was exceptional. I have been associated with hospitality for many years, and this lady is top of the tree! Definitely management material! Thanks to all staff for their smiles and help.

The hotel itself and the grounds are beautiful and very well maintained – easily 9/10. The rooms are also lovely, spacious and comfortable, again around a 9/10. Unfortunately, that’s where the positives end. The food and overall restaurant experience were extremely disappointing and nowhere near what you would expect from a 5-star hotel. The main restaurant feels chaotic and overcrowded, more like a busy canteen or cattle market than a quality dining venue. It is clearly far too small for the size of the hotel, and we regularly had to queue just to get a drink – something I have never experienced in a supposed 5-star establishment. The quality of the food itself was very poor, which is why we ended up eating out for the majority of our stay. When you are staying at a hotel of this standard and price, you expect the food to be one of the highlights – here it was the complete opposite. Another frustrating policy is that guests are only allowed to use one of the speciality restaurants during their stay, which felt extremely restrictive and disappointing, again never experienced this before. The majority of the staff also seemed quite miserable and unwelcoming, which added to the overall poor experience. Ironically, the friendliest people we encountered during the entire stay were the security staff at the main entrance. The concierge service was also frustrating – you cannot book a standard taxi through the hotel. They only offer private transfer cars starting at around £15, which makes it feel like they are more interested in pushing their own services rather than helping guests. Overall, while the hotel looks the part, the food, restaurant experience and service fall far short of 5-star standards. We left feeling very disappointed and would not return.
