JAZ Makadi Star Resort & Spa

Visiting the hotel for the second time . I had the perfect experience, first time was my honeymoon and now during my birthday . Starting with the reception , Mr Mohammed and Mr Abdulrahman at the reception were very helpful and very professional whenever we wanted any help or had any questions everything would be sorted at once . Moving to the restaurant chiefs and the waiters they were all very cheerful smiling always making sure that you are satisfied with the service , the sweets chief Mr karim was very very funny and helpful the head of the cheif was always there asking us for opinions and also asking us if we need something extra , Mr Nagy among the waiters team was extremely helpful , Also Mr Ashraf and (sorry Iam very bad with names ) Mr Salah . The head of Food and beverages was always walking around checking , asking for feedbacks. The food Taste was On Spot I would call it perfect and the best taste and quality I have ever had in hurghada (and I have been to many high reputation hotels). The boys at the bar were always around they make very good cocktails , special thanks to Mr Ahmad , and Ramadan. Housekeeping team was extremely helpful and the room was always clear ,, they made us some very nice room decorations for my birthday which was extremely lovely. Last but not least the animation team , I enjoyed participating in the olimpiada which was really fun , I would like to thank Mr Seif , Big Mido , Mr ahmad and Barbara for their very good job. I really enjoyed my second stay at the hotel it was as perfect as the first , looking forward for more visits

After our holiday to Thailand was cancelled, we grabbed a last minute week here, and boy did we come up trumps! Absolutely everything about this hotel is top drawer, from the staff, to the animation, to the food and beautiful landscaping and gardens. The evening entertainment was generally pretty good, with the odd exception but even when it was less so, the bar staff kept our glasses full, and a good evening was had. Talking of this, both on the beach and at the pool, our glasses were never empty, and the pool and beach staff even remembered our favourite drinks after just a day, which is very impressive! We had a room that overlooked some quarrying going on across the road, yes it could be a bit noisy, but we enjoyed sitting on the balcony and watching, so no problems there. Yes, the sales people could be a bit relentless but we found a simple no thanks always worked, and we never booked anything. We had previously stayed next door at the Makadi Gardens and I will go as far as to say that the Star is at least twice as good, which is saying something! Only downside, which was not a major issue, is that we appeared to draw the short straw with room cleaning sadly, with tea and coffee never replenished and sometimes we had to hunt out water too. He would bring in sheets to change the bed and just forget to do it so we would come back and find it on the bed ready to do. But others we spoke to had great service with this, so it wouldn't put us off. The fact that we loved this hotel so much, and the great dive centre on the promenade, means we will be booking to come again next year. Thankyou!

We recently stayed here for a week and honestly had the most amazing holiday from start to finish. The hotel is absolutely spotless, with beautiful gardens that are constantly maintained and kept looking stunning every single day. Everywhere you looked was clean, tidy, and clearly very well cared for. The staff truly make this hotel special. Every single member of staff went above and beyond and genuinely could not do enough for you. A special mention has to go to the pool bar staff, especially Ahmed, who was fantastic all week, always friendly, welcoming, and hardworking, making sure everyone was looked after with a smile. The animation team were also brilliant and such good fun to be around every day. They created such a great atmosphere without ever being too much, and really added to the overall experience of the holiday. Mina, the hotel manager, was exceptional and clearly takes great pride in the hotel and guest experience. His professionalism and friendliness really stood out. The food was fantastic throughout our stay with plenty of choice every day. We especially loved the pool bar at lunchtime, such great quality food and service. The on site à la carte Italian restaurant was also outstanding, with top class service and delicious food. Our room was cleaned daily to an excellent standard and was always spotless when we returned. Overall, this hotel exceeded our expectations in every way. Amazing staff, fantastic food, beautiful surroundings, and an atmosphere that made us feel completely relaxed for the entire week. We would return in a heartbeat and highly recommend Jaz Makadi Star to anyone looking for a perfect holiday in Egypt!

Our 5th visit to this Egyptian home from home. On arrival we were greeted back by all the staff who recognised us, slightly put off by the amount of new staff members. Any worries were soon dispelled. They soon got to know us by name, what we drink, like to sit etc etc. Entertainment. We were sad to see the girls go while we were there. That was more than made up by the energy of the new guys. Big Mido needs no introduction. Once seen never forgotten. Part way through the first week we were happy to see Mena back to the front office. Any problems although were were minor they were dealt with immediatley. Also back from vacation were the fantastic guest relation team of Uta and Elaina, always checking in with guests. If anything is wrong and is fixable they will go beyond call of duty to ensure it is carried out. Food wise nothing really changes.The buffet remains as good as ever. Something you would like, just mention it. We visited 3 a la carte restaurants. Italian, Indian and the Grille. all very good in there own rights Whilst we were there the dining times were changed at the buffet to open at 7pm. I always like early dining option and 7pm is slightly too late for us. I know the sea cannot move nearer the hotel so please put an easy way for disabled to reach the beach would be a bonus. Many hotels run a golf buggy shuttle, including some Jaz hotels. Time to start looking at some method especially now moving to adult only where the chance of more disabled guests has increased.. This was mine and my partner’s second stay at Jaz Makadi Star & Spa, and we were so excited to return. We were especially looking forward to seeing some of the staff from our previous visit, so it was a shame that many of them were no longer there. Our room was 138 and unfortunately the balcony overlooked a construction site. Building work started very early most mornings with loud drilling and banging, which wasn’t ideal when trying to relax. On a few occasions, the fire alarm also went off repeatedly in the mornings at one point three times in one morning. We were told this was due to guests smoking in their rooms and setting the alarms off, but it was still very disruptive. One thing I would highly recommend is having lunch by the pool. The food there was always fresh and delicious, and sometimes offered more variety than the main restaurant. A special mention to Farahat, who made the best cocktails and mocktails we’ve ever had he works incredibly hard and is constantly on his feet. The entertainment was okay overall, although the entertainment team really made the atmosphere enjoyable. Panoo in particular was amazing always polite, attentive, and friendly. We also had a spa treatment during our stay, and it was honestly one of the highlights of the holiday. I would absolutely recommend booking a treatment as the experience was fantastic. I also visited the salon for a pedicure, and Hayley was so gentle, professional, and kind. I really loved the experience. One downside was the people approaching guests around the sunbeds to advertise activities and treatments. Some could be quite pushy and rude. One man in particular became frustrated when we said we wanted time to think about booking a spa treatment. He repeatedly pushed the price, told us he would lose commission if we didn’t book with him, then slammed his book shut and walked away muttering under his breath. It made me feel very uncomfortable and uneasy, and I ended up going back to my room afterwards. On a positive note, the beach is beautiful, very clean, and always lively. I would definitely recommend going snorkeling it was one of the best parts of the trip. Overall, despite a few disappointments, we still had a lovely holiday and there were definitely some standout members of staff who made our stay memorable.
