JAZ Palmariva Beach

Just back from a wonderful week at Jaz Palmariva Beach and oh my.....what a great week it was. We arrived quite late (10pm) The hotel is still pretty quiet at this time of year. So we just sat and had a drink before going to bed. The place was so chilled and warm. Got up the next morning to go to the pool to find most of the beds reserved with towels. But we managed to find a couple free so we reserved them before going for breakfast. Breakfast was varied with breads, cheeses, salads but my favourite was the omelette station where you request what you want in your omelette (if anything) and they make it fresh in front of you. Staff were very attentive in the restaurant at all times. Overall the food was very good and varied for breakfast, lunch and dinner. I really can't complain. Around the pool is quiet one minute and then noisy the next, the entertainment staff run around shouting what is happening - whether it be darts, yoga or water aerobics.....i found this to be quite annoying as they run around the pool areas for a half hour or so trying to get you to participate. I personally just wanted to relax with my book and podcasts and they interrupted me every time they walked past. I would maybe put a board on display saying what is happening that certain day and then maybe announcing it once or twice to remind people of the time. We went to the beach for the last three days and it was lovely and relaxed.....The only bad thing about the beach was the amount of jelly fish! I couldn't go in the water because there were so many of them....there were some brave people that went in though! When i wanted to cool down i took the small walk to the pool. The evening entertainment is so bad (sorry guys) but we avoided this by playing pool above the reception area and playing cards away from it. I would recommend that when it gets busy over the summer months to do the kids entertainment by the kids club......not right by reception where people are wanting to relax. I am not sure if i would book this holiday over the busy summer months as i suspect you might not get the same service and outcome we did. Overall this was a great holiday and i would love to come back for another week right now!

Rooms Bright, comfortable, renovated room. Excellently cleaned daily🥰( building c, top floor )Upon request, we received slippers, bathrobes . 1 bottle of water per day. Minibar - paid. Everything is great. Nearby activities No activities. Not enough seating during the evening animation programs. Safety Safe, supervision when entering / leaving the territory is really strong. Pedestrian paths There is nowhere to walk. The adjacent hotel is being renovated. Beautiful, comfortable beach for swimming.. Food and drinks Monotonic, small selection, but delicious food. We liked the asian ala carte. Wifi is very poor, bring your own internet access The service staff at the reception, room and grounds managers are pleasant, friendly, smiling and always ready to help🥰 In the restaurant - tables are cleaned slowly, it is difficult to find a free place during dinner. In the bars - terrible "service", cocktails are not made according to the menu, the answer is "we don't have cocktails", in the beach bar they only pour alcohol, the juice is gray from the machine itself (this is cocktail making 🤣🤣🤣), the bartenders are frowning and unhappy. It's scary to even go to a bar, especially if Ehab works, who has no idea about politeness and communication with people. He allows himself to scream at vacationers and insult them, telling them to hide their phones because he imagines himself as the beauty of the world that everyone wants to take pictures of him😂

Just back from a week at Jaz Palmariva Beach with my adult son, we had a room each in B block looking across at the hotel under renovation across the way, to be fair there was only occasional building noise from that site but its emptiness did effect the atmosphere. We found the rooms, pool area and restaurant to be very clean, (thanks Sharif), the gardens were pretty with lush grass and pretty flowers and shrubs acknowledging that a lot of climbing vegetation had been recently cut back. The weather was great during the day but we experienced a strong breeze all week which made it quite cold on an evening, forcing mostly people into the hotel lobby which is fortunately quite large. The beach is pretty but we only sat there a couple of days as it was too cold in the breeze which also pushed a lot of jelly fish onto the shoreline, putting us off having a swim in the sea. I like to have a walk, there is little option turning right along the beach, but turning left and heading north up Makadi Bay is a super 2.2 mile (each way) walk along the sea front which felt safe and very pleasant and pester free. There are security guards at each hotel. We found the staff to be very hit and miss, they really didn’t like us walking up to the bar and asking for a drink, reception was a similar experience although to be fair there are a lot of nationalities in this hotel, many different languages to master. ( Perhaps this is down to it being Ramadan and the staff fasting whilst we were eating and drinking). I was very surprised to see the pool bar staff cleaning the plastic glasses in a sink, I didn’t see any washing up liquid, just assumed that for hygiene there would be a dishwasher. We used the a la carte restaurant one evening, we were too late to book the Italian in the main building so we settled for the Indian outside, the food and service were great, a super experience but despite wrapping up we were very cold by the end of the evening. The tv in the room regularly showed premiere league football and there was a bbc news Chanel also. We had booked with Love holidays and their partner Sun international provided us with efficient transfers and also two great trips, one to Luxor and the other to Bianca Island, both were really good days out. Overall we enjoyed our holiday but don’t think I will come back to this hotel.

Jaz Palmariva is a lovely hotel. All of the hotel staff (are fantastic. The food is second-to-none and has to be the best I've had whilst staying at any hotel on holiday. The hotel was so thoughtful too and suprised me with a cake in my room on my birthday. It was such a nice touch considering I didn't say anything. And the cake was delicious!! I also felt really secure in the hotel with the amount of security and cameras around the place. There is, however, one *serious* problem with this hotel. The shops that are located on-site. The proprietors are purposefully ripping the people who stay here off which, I have to stress, is the ONLY reason I am not marking it as a 5* visit. You expect a higher mark up in these stores naturally, but they were around 400%. There was one occasion whereby I went and bought the same item on two seperate occasions and ended up paying two totally different prices. It's almost like they make it up! The response was "If you get a taxi to the marina it'll be more expensive" - what sort of comment is that?! Very disappointed by that.

Nothing to complain at all. Rooms clean, lovely meals, friendly personal, clear water, long beach walks and as long as the sea was calm, a nearly untouched snorkling spot at the outside reef. I was rebooked from another hotel and was a little bit scared because reviews said, the hotel is closed, but it wasn't. Renovation is ongoing but mainly at the other hotel and nearly every hotel is doing so in January. Daily, I enjoyed stretching and yoga with the lovely annimation team.
