If you are looking for a quiet, romantic getaway where you can read a book by the pool without interruption, you might want to look elsewhere. But if you are traveling with toddlers and have a realistic (or slightly desperate) sense of humor, the Pickalbatros White Beach Resort 5* is a surprisingly great choice. Here is our honest take after surviving a week here with two small children. 🏊‍♂️ Pools & Water Slides. The pool area is genuinely beautiful and well-maintained. However, traveling with toddlers means your pool time isn't spent lounging—it's spent playing lifeguard. The kids' splash park is a massive hit. Our three-year-old treated it like a full-time job and threw a magnificent tantrum every single time we tried to leave for lunch. 🛏️ The Room. We booked a family room, which was spacious, clean, and modern. It stayed that way for roughly the first twenty minutes. After that, it quickly turned into an improvised playground filled with sand from the beach, half-eaten snacks under the furniture, and a drying rack overflowing with tiny wet swimsuits. Shoutout to housekeeping: The staff were incredible. They folded towels into adorable swans and elephants every day, even though our toddler immediately destroyed them. We tipped them well because they truly earned hazard pay. 🍕 Food & Drinks. With multiple restaurants on-site, finding something to eat is easy—getting a toddler to actually eat it is the real challenge. The buffet is huge. While there is plenty of great food for adults, our children survived almost entirely on a balanced diet of French fries, pizza, and ice cream. The atmosphere is chaotic during peak hours, but the servers are fast, friendly, and very understanding when your child drops a plate of food on the floor for the second time. 🏖️ The Beach. The beach features soft white sand and warm, shallow water, making it very safe for little ones. Building sandcastles was a daily ritual, right up until the moment someone tried to taste the sand. The views of the Red Sea are lovely, even if you are mostly staring at them from behind a pair of sunglasses covered in fingerprints. We had an incredible experience booking our tours with Sheriff Egypt! Their prices are noticeably lower than what the hotel guides charge, offering much better value for money. We highly recommend booking their private tours to Cairo and Luxor. Our guide spoke fluent, excellent English, and we traveled in a brand-new, comfortable 2026 model minivan. Everything was seamless and stress-free—we couldn't have asked for a better way to explore! Final Verdict. Would we recommend Pickalbatros White Beach Resort for families with small kids? Yes, absolutely. You won't come home fully rested—traveling with toddlers is hard work no matter where you go. But the staff is exceptionally kid-friendly, the facilities are top-notch, and the kids had the absolute time of their lives. Pack extra wipes, lower your expectations for sleep, and enjoy the trip!

Pickalbatros White Beach Resort is an amazing, exceptionally clean hotel that is absolute paradise for families. The kids' pools are fantastic—and honestly, just as much fun for the adults as they are for the little ones! The entertainment team works so hard and keeps the energy high all day long. The beach parties and foam pool parties were absolute highlights! The kids' club is brilliant too, especially the parades featuring giant characters that the children adored. When it comes to food, there is a huge variety to choose from, and the drinks and cocktails were mixed to perfection. Having a dedicated sweet house packed with desserts was such a treat! My only minor downside was that ice cream was only available in the evenings, which felt a bit limited—it would be great if they served it during the daytime by the pool instead. That said, the entire staff team is incredibly friendly and works tirelessly to keep the resort, the grounds, and even the swimming pools maintained to a very high standard of cleanliness. Having direct access to a gorgeous private beach tops it all off. We would definitely return!

Overall — 8/10, but we would not return We genuinely enjoyed our holiday at White Beach. This is a good hotel, and there is a lot it does very well. Housekeeping was excellent, staff were generally friendly, breakfast was very good, the sandy beach is lovely and safe, and the children’s pool setup is outstanding. For families with children around 2–6 years old whose priorities are excellent shallow aqua pools, plenty of shade and a safe sandy beach, White Beach is a very strong option. However, we paid considerably more than several alternative resorts we considered, and apart from the exceptional pools for small children, we didn’t feel the overall experience offered enough additional value to justify that premium for our family. Our children are already ready for larger water slides and missed having an amusement area. My wife would like a proper aqua park with slides for adults, while both of us missed having a coral reef where we could snorkel directly from the beach. Combined with the limited evening activities for young children, low shower pressure and our experiences with the pricing of the on-site excursion and transport providers, we would choose a different resort next time—ideally one with a proper family aqua park, more evening entertainment and activities for children, and a good house reef for snorkeling. One interaction in particular made us uncomfortable. During our first meeting with a member of management, we were told about another guest who had gone to hospital, subsequently complained publicly, and that the hotel was pursuing legal action related to that guest’s social-media reviews. Whatever the circumstances of that dispute, we found it very strange and inappropriate to discuss legal action involving another guest with us. Best suited to: families with children approximately 2–6 years old who prioritize excellent children’s pools, shade and a safe sandy beach. Less suited to: families with older or more adventurous children, adults wanting larger water slides, families looking for amusement activities in the evening, or anyone for whom snorkeling directly from the hotel beach is an important part of a Red Sea holiday.

I loved everything about my stay. The staff were incredibly friendly and attentive, the rooms were spotless and comfortable, and the food was delicious with plenty of variety. The pools and beach were beautiful, the entertainment was enjoyable, and the overall atmosphere was relaxing and family-friendly. The service exceeded my expectations, and every detail was well organized. It was truly one of the best resort experiences I've ever had.
