Pickalbatros White Beach Resort

Pickalbatros White Beach Resort is an amazing, exceptionally clean hotel that is absolute paradise for families. The kids' pools are fantastic—and honestly, just as much fun for the adults as they are for the little ones! The entertainment team works so hard and keeps the energy high all day long. The beach parties and foam pool parties were absolute highlights! The kids' club is brilliant too, especially the parades featuring giant characters that the children adored. When it comes to food, there is a huge variety to choose from, and the drinks and cocktails were mixed to perfection. Having a dedicated sweet house packed with desserts was such a treat! My only minor downside was that ice cream was only available in the evenings, which felt a bit limited—it would be great if they served it during the daytime by the pool instead. That said, the entire staff team is incredibly friendly and works tirelessly to keep the resort, the grounds, and even the swimming pools maintained to a very high standard of cleanliness. Having direct access to a gorgeous private beach tops it all off. We would definitely return!

Overall — 8/10, but we would not return We genuinely enjoyed our holiday at White Beach. This is a good hotel, and there is a lot it does very well. Housekeeping was excellent, staff were generally friendly, breakfast was very good, the sandy beach is lovely and safe, and the children’s pool setup is outstanding. For families with children around 2–6 years old whose priorities are excellent shallow aqua pools, plenty of shade and a safe sandy beach, White Beach is a very strong option. However, we paid considerably more than several alternative resorts we considered, and apart from the exceptional pools for small children, we didn’t feel the overall experience offered enough additional value to justify that premium for our family. Our children are already ready for larger water slides and missed having an amusement area. My wife would like a proper aqua park with slides for adults, while both of us missed having a coral reef where we could snorkel directly from the beach. Combined with the limited evening activities for young children, low shower pressure and our experiences with the pricing of the on-site excursion and transport providers, we would choose a different resort next time—ideally one with a proper family aqua park, more evening entertainment and activities for children, and a good house reef for snorkeling. One interaction in particular made us uncomfortable. During our first meeting with a member of management, we were told about another guest who had gone to hospital, subsequently complained publicly, and that the hotel was pursuing legal action related to that guest’s social-media reviews. Whatever the circumstances of that dispute, we found it very strange and inappropriate to discuss legal action involving another guest with us. Best suited to: families with children approximately 2–6 years old who prioritize excellent children’s pools, shade and a safe sandy beach. Less suited to: families with older or more adventurous children, adults wanting larger water slides, families looking for amusement activities in the evening, or anyone for whom snorkeling directly from the hotel beach is an important part of a Red Sea holiday.

I loved everything about my stay. The staff were incredibly friendly and attentive, the rooms were spotless and comfortable, and the food was delicious with plenty of variety. The pools and beach were beautiful, the entertainment was enjoyable, and the overall atmosphere was relaxing and family-friendly. The service exceeded my expectations, and every detail was well organized. It was truly one of the best resort experiences I've ever had.

We stayed at this hotel for 14 days. Overall, we had a decent holiday, but considering the amount of money we paid, this hotel did not meet our expectations. The price-to-quality ratio is simply not what it should be. We have stayed in cheaper hotels where the service was significantly better. Looking back, I feel misled by the many positive reviews. Perhaps this hotel deserved them years ago, but based on our experience, it certainly does not offer good value for money today. One thing that really stood out to us was the difference in how guests were treated. As guests from Europe, we noticed that white European visitors appeared to receive noticeably better service. If you wear a headscarf or look different, the staff seemed far less interested in helping you or checking in on you. This gave us the impression of unequal treatment, which was very disappointing. Reception The reception staff were not particularly welcoming. The check-in felt rushed, impersonal, and lacked the warm hospitality you would expect from a hotel in this price range. Cleanliness This is where the hotel truly deserves praise. Both the hotel and the rooms were exceptionally clean. Everything, both indoors and outdoors, was spotless, and the housekeeping staff did an excellent job throughout our stay. Swimming Pools The pool area is spacious, and there is plenty for young children to enjoy. However, during our 14-day stay, there was at least one incident every single day where someone had pooped in one of the pools. The affected pool would be temporarily closed, cleaned, and reopened, but the frequency of these incidents suggests that stricter supervision or preventive measures are needed. We also noticed a significant difference in service around the pool. During an entire day, staff approached us only once to ask if we wanted something to drink, while they regularly approached white European guests several times. This reinforced our feeling that guests were not being treated equally. Beach The beach is nice and clean, but the water is very shallow. It is ideal for families with small children but less enjoyable for adults who want to swim. We recommend bringing water shoes because there are many small stones and shells in the sand and water. Food The food was good, with plenty of variety. However, many dishes lacked seasoning and were quite bland, often requiring salt or other seasoning. The lunch buffet also became repetitive after a few days. Entertainment The mini disco for children was enjoyable, and our child loved it. However, the music was played at an extremely high volume, which seemed excessive for such young children. The young man who hosted the mini disco and worked at the kids’ club was outstanding. He was genuinely friendly, enthusiastic, and interacted wonderfully with the children. He was easily one of the highlights of the entertainment team. Unfortunately, the rest of the animation team lacked enthusiasm. They looked as though they were performing out of obligation rather than enjoyment, and there was very little energy or interaction with the guests. The evening entertainment was disappointing, and the DJ did little to improve the atmosphere. Final Verdict Overall, we had a pleasant holiday, but this hotel is simply not worth the premium price it charges. There are many hotels offering better service and a much better overall experience for less money. Would we return? No.
