Sunny Days Palma De Mirette Resort & Spa

My husband and I just spent a week at the Sunny Days Palma De Mirette Resort in Hurghada, and I wanted to share our genuine experience for anyone considering this hotel. Overall, we had a fantastic and relaxing time, though like any resort, it has a few quirks depending on what you are looking for. Stepping away from the hotel topic for a moment, I want to strongly recommend Sheriff Egypt for anyone looking to book excursions in Hurghada—you can easily find them online just by searching their name. Their prices are significantly lower than what the hotel guides charge, and the quality is top-notch. We booked two trips through them and couldn't be happier: Cairo Trip: We chose the small-group tour (capped at just eight people) with a private guide, which made the whole experience so much more personal and unhurried. Hula Hula Island Boat Trip: The yacht we went on was brand new, comfortable, and modern. All of their guides spoke fluent English, were extremely knowledgeable, and made us feel safe and well-cared for the entire time. Highly recommended! Arrival, Check-in, and First Impressions. We arrived around midday after a smooth transfer from the airport. The reception lobby is quite grand, bright, and breezy, overlooking the Red Sea. Check-in took about 20 minutes because it was a busy arrival window, but the front desk staff were polite and managed to get us a room in a great spot with a partial sea view close to the main pool. The resort layout is expansive, split between areas with direct access to their signature lagoon and the main beach sections. The grounds are very well-kept, with gardeners constantly tending to the palm trees and flowerbeds. Our Room. We stayed in a standard double room. It wasn't ultra-modern, but it was spacious, impeccably clean, and the air conditioning worked like a charm—which is a lifesaver in the Egyptian heat. The bed: Very large and comfortable (we had two twins pushed together with a single mattress topper, which is standard for couples). Housekeeping: Our cleaner did a wonderful job every day, surprising us with fresh towel art (swans and hearts) on the bed accompanied by fresh flowers. Balcony: We spent our evenings sitting out on the small balcony watching the sunset over the water. Beach, Pools, and Snorkeling. This is honestly the biggest selling point of the resort. Palma De Mirette has a unique setup with a protected coral lagoon and its own offshore reef area. The Lagoon: The water inside the lagoon is calm, crystal clear, and warm—perfect for just floating around without worrying about waves. Snorkeling: Bring your goggles! My husband spent hours snorkeling right off the hotel’s beach area and saw a surprising variety of colorful Red Sea fish and even a small stingray near the breakwater. Pools: There are multiple pools. The main pool gets quite lively with music, animation team activities, and water aerobics, while the quieter pool zones are great if you just want to read a book on a sun lounger. Towel cards made getting clean beach towels hassle-free. Food and Dining. We were on the All-Inclusive package. The main buffet restaurant offers a huge variety for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Breakfast: Freshly made omelets, stations for pancakes, local cheeses, pastries, and a great coffee setup. Lunch and Dinner: There is always a carving station (beef, turkey, or roasted chicken), a great selection of fresh salads, Egyptian rice dishes, pasta stations, and an overwhelming dessert table with traditional Middle Eastern sweets and cakes. The Highlight: Sitting outside on the terrace of the main restaurant for dinner with the sea breeze. We also tried one of the a la carte options mid-week, which made for a nice, quieter change of pace. Bars: The pool bars and beach bars kept us well-supplied with cold local drinks, iced coffee, and fruit juices throughout the day. Service and Atmosphere. Egyptian hospitality truly shines here. From the waiters at the dining room who remembered our drink preferences by day three to the bartenders and animation crew, everyone was warm, attentive, and hardworking without being pushy. The animation team ran stretching sessions, water polo, and evening shows in the amphitheater, but they were never aggressive if you just wanted to relax by yourself. Final Verdict. Sunny Days Palma De Mirette isn't a hyper-luxury, ultra-modern boutique hotel, but it offers incredible value, a fantastic marine environment for swimming and snorkeling, and a genuinely warm atmosphere. My husband and I left feeling completely refreshed and happy with our choice. If you want a fun, sunny beach holiday right on the Red Sea without breaking the bank, this place is well worth booking!

Really impressed with our stay here. We went as a family of 5 with a 2 year old. Bedroom was ideal and cleaned every day to a high standard . Swimming pools were ideal for every type of activity. The food was ok with lots of local cuisine but not much else for us Brit ( But then we are spoilt for choice at home) Drinks always available, be it alcoholic or soft drinks. Water is available always. The Chinese restaurant was superb! The staff couldn’t have been more nicer and helpful, they made are stay so much fun and always at ease, a credit to the hotel, your team are amazing! A mention to the lady near reception who was always happy to help with any questions. Believe she was a rep, thank you. We will be back. Thanks again for an amazing stay
