Having visited Hurghada many times as a family, this is our first time at Sunrise Garden Beach Resort. We love this area and all hotels we have stayed in previously are extremely close by. We were taken to our rooms (9305 & 9306) and were blown away! These looked brand new and the rooms are big! They have loads of drawer space, double glass fronted wardrobes, seating area, walk-in shower and freezing aircon! The rooms each had a balcony and also a connecting door so acted great as a family room. We were right by the aqua park and slides, so all round these were essentially, perfect! The hotel is shared (like all we have stayed in) with Mamlouk, so you have not only multiple pools to choose from but bars, restaurants and a la carte's. The beach is nice and has a good breeze, well needed in August when extremely hot! You need to get a sunbed by 7am at the beach if you want either front row or second row. Any later than this, forget it. The beach is lovely and has nice sand, you can walk straight in and dont need to walk far before you can swim. Some other hotels we have stayed at you need to walk quite a distance before it even begins to get deeper, so this was great for us. The beach is a little smaller than other places we have stayed so as a result its more crowded. You get used to it but for us it was a little negative as it was constantly busy with little let up. There is a toilet by the beach restuarant but that appears to be the only one! Pools are nice, but again really busy. Get a lounger early or forget about it, especially in peak season. Waterslides are great fun, but after the first 10 minutes of opening the queues just get silly, you spend more time queuing than much else. Its as though the hotel is bigger than the facilities. Equally though, its a lovely hotel and amazing staff so you have to weigh things up yourself. Overall, minor things but worth noting. We ate breakfast by the beach each morning, smaller selection but it has everything you need in my opinion. It also acts as a lunch bar and italian/Egyptian a la carte in the evenings. The main buffet restaurants get too busy with children running wild so for us this was ideal as even in peak season only a handful of people were ever there - perfect! Bar drinks by the pool and beach restaurant sometimes have long queues so it takes a while to get a drink. I suggest you take a flask or big jug meaning less visits. ** Things to do ** Excursions we would recommend are Orange Bay, snorkeling, jeep/quad safari camel and horse riding in the sea (1 of the best). Mini Egypt was also fun, but only about an hour long which didnt justify the price. Make sure you visit the Marina also. The restuarant menus at the Marina are repetitive so just chose one that you like the look of and you'll have a great meal. We spent £75 for 5 of us including drinks, and all had tomahawk steaks! We have visited the Marina a few times. ** Getting Around ** The hotel taxi is expensive so either use indrive (egypt uber) or a guy called Sammy (+20 0120 1144133). We have used Sammy for many years now. Good english, good prices and now a personal friend to us. Highly recommend, 100% reliable! ** People to look out for ** Animation Team - Ouzo and Kastila Ouzo especiallly has been a great friend to us and someone we certainly hope to see again. All are amazing friendly positive people, but Ouzo will look after you and the family the entire holiday. He is an amazing hard worker!! Main Reception Bar Fady, Karam, Mohammed are absolutely brilliant. They are such hard working and caring people. Best cocktails in Egypt we have ever had, taste just like they do in the UK. Always smiling, a great team, and we feel like family now when with them, its been amazing. Room Cleaner Ahmed Jamal. Great cleaner and such a friendly guy, thank you so much! The staff here work so hard. They have to deal with a lot, especially some of the horrible guests that are extremely rude to them. The staff have to put up with a lot which is sometimes hard to watch, but credit to them as they do a great job of dealing with this. We always make an effort to speak with most staff, tip them and let them know how grateful we are for making our stay pleasant. Overall, this has been a lovely stay. Hard working staff, lovely rooms, the location and its facilities means we would return for sure.
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Our stay at SUNRISE Garden Beach Resort was amazing from start to finish. The hotel is beautiful, very clean, and perfectly maintained. The rooms were comfortable, the beach was lovely, and the pools and aqua park were fantastic. The food was delicious with plenty of variety every day, and all the restaurants offered excellent service. What really made our holiday special was the friendly, professional, and hardworking staff who always made us feel welcome. The entertainment team kept everyone engaged with fun activities and great evening shows. Overall, this was one of the best holidays we've had, and we would definitely recommend SUNRISE Garden Beach Resort to anyone looking for a relaxing and enjoyable vacation in Hurghada. We can't wait to come back!
