Sunrise Garden Beach Resort – Fantastic First Trip to Egypt We’ve just returned from a wonderful 7‑night stay at Sunrise Garden Beach Resort, and as a family visiting Egypt for the first time, we couldn’t have asked for a better experience. We were a little sceptical before travelling — a couple of friends had said they wouldn’t return to Egypt — but after reading reviews and watching YouTube videos, we chose Sunrise Garden. We’re so glad we did. The hotel is absolutely fantastic and fully deserves the praise it receives on TripAdvisor. The staff are a real credit to the resort; every single person we met was friendly, welcoming, and eager to help. A special mention goes to Ali, the lobby drinks waiter, who looked after our family throughout the week and always made us feel at home. A lovely genuine person, thankyou Boss :-) The hotel is spotlessly clean, and the food is excellent with a wide range of options every day. We tried the Mongolian à la carte restaurant, which was superb. The beach is beautiful, and the sea is warm and perfect for swimming. The pools are fantastic too — we especially enjoyed the one with the swim‑up bar. Mustafa, the lifeguard, was incredibly helpful in finding us sunbeds and parasols when things were busy. We ventured out to the marina and Sheraton Street. Top tip: download InDrive — it works like Uber, but the driver sets the price. We paid 165 EGP from the hotel to the marina. On the way back, we took a blue/orange taxi from Sheraton Street and agreed 400 EGP before getting in. We also booked quad bikes through the operator who walks around the hotel (red top). We paid £30 each, though you could probably haggle more. The guides do expect a tip, but the experience itself was fantastic and definitely worth doing. The only small downside was that there weren’t many other British families at the resort. It didn’t affect our holiday, but it would have been nice for our 12‑year‑old to meet some friends. A few guests from other countries were a bit pushy in the buffet queues, but it was a minor issue overall. In summary: we had a brilliant stay and would happily return. Sunrise Garden Beach Resort gave us a perfect first taste of Egypt.
