Xanadu Club Makadi Bay

This hotel exceeded all our expectations. The territory is large, very neat. It is full of flowers and greenery. Everything is taken care of down to the smallest detail. You can always find free sunbeds both by the beach and by all the pools (which was a very pleasant surprise, you didn't have to get up and do anything). The service staff is very polite, always ready to help️ We traveled with grandparents and a small baby. While we were having dinner, the waiters carried the baby so that we could eat in peace. The food selection is huge, three ala carte free restaurants and of course a huge main restaurant, where everyone will find something to their liking. Additional snack restaurants, where you can fully relax. Very convenient, you don't have to rush to fit into the schedules, especially when traveling with a baby. We spent our time mainly by the relax pool, which is heated and by the sea. The sea resembles the Mediterranean, never runs out, the sand. You can also find coral. The drinks are imported (which is very rare in Egypt) so they will suit everyone's taste. There are shops around the hotel (as far as the prices go), but if you don't need something impressive, it will be enough. Every day there are different events. During the day on the beach, in the evening in the arena or by the pools, and for those who prefer something quieter, there are live guitar, piano or violin performances in the lobby. This is really the first hotel we will return to.

Just returned from this hotel / resort having spent 10 glorious nights there. We were a party of 8 - 5 adults and 3 kids. We arrived on the late flight arriving at the resort around 11pm. We went to the Xanadu hotel reception but were advised our booking was for the Xanadu club (same resort just a newer part). As we had not done much research on the club we were a little bit in the dark. However after a short golf buggy ride to the Xanadu club reception we were greeted with a fantastic reception long winding staircase and marble as far as the eye could see. We were also pleasantly surprised as we had been given adjoining rooms and a family room for the 3 rooms booked. We had a side sea view (block 7242/44) in the adjoining rooms. Rooms were very well presented, widescewen TV which we were able to hook up our fire stick. Large queen size bed in one room plus pull out sofa (which we didn't use) the other room having 2 single beds. Both had fridges /mini bar but no alcohol (this wasn't a problem as i explain later). Shower /bathroom was well equipped decent hairdryer and powerful rain shower with hand held option. Toiletries supplied inc body wash shampoo and conditioner. Towels changed daily. No usbs in the room just as a note. We didn't take many adaptors as we are used to usb so we were relying on power banks most of the time for charging. The Xanadu club is nearest to the beach gym and main show bar and shops. It's also convenient for the on site water park which opens 2 X per day in a morning and after lunch 2-4:30. Shuttle buses are regular and ferry you around the resort as it's a far trek up to the main hotel. Both the hotel and club have their own main restaurants and themed ones. Club has Turkish and Italian which can be booked also sushi for and extra charge. Turkish was excellent and well worth a visit. The Italian was also but the Turkish stood out. Book these using the WhatsApp link given at check in. Facilities - we were situated mostly around the heated pool which is smaller then the main feature pool at the club. Towels are obtained from the towel huts near the beach or pool. They are pretty relaxed about towel cards if not busy as we had extra for cushions on the loungers. Mention to Abdul the towel guys what a dude. Poolside you barely have to move waiters constantly checking if you need drinks. Snack bar next to beach offers buffet then late switches to al a carte. There is also a pizza restaurant which serves woodfired varieties and a smaller snack bar behind this. We need to mention Mustafa (roller skate guy) around the pool. Really looked after us during our stay. Top service. Drinks around the pool consisted of iced latte , flavoured iced latte, pop and beer generally serve in cans. Stella (Egyptian) and Heineken 330mls Main restaurant - breakfast and evening meals taken here. Big shout out to some of the waiters who made our stay really welcome. Akram Harby - made us special roses out of napkins always ensured we were looked after. Ahmed Shalaby - Evening meals were a pleasure constantly checking in on us and making sure we had everything we needed. (Even brought me some white toast to the table as there wasn't any at the toaster!) Zeyad Talat - always had a smile on his face keeping the drink flowing and coffee machines ticking over. Always want out of his way to say hello. We really enjoyed the blue bar for late afternoon drinks as well as the lounge bar and lobby bar for late drinks. As a note of you like a drink in your room we found it best to take a few cans from the bar back with you after a hard day sunbathing. This resort was exceptional, very clean staff always sweeping the pathways looking after the gardens. Resort was totally spotless and we really enjoyed the holiday. Wouldn't hesitate to recommend this resort to anyone.
