Xanadu Makadi Bay

Great holiday at Xanadu over the May half term. The room and Bar staff are incredible and will do anything you help make the stay an enjoyable one. Ibrahim who looked after the room couldn’t do enough to make sure we had everything we needed (Best staff member we have encountered at any all inclusive resort) Food was ok but have experienced better in other resorts. Children did pickup a bit of a stomach bug which wiped them out for a day but it followed a boat trip we took so hard to know what caused the illness. We tend not to revisit the same hotel twice but would be tempted to come back here.

This was our 2nd stay at Xanadu Makadi bay, again the service was impeccable from the moment we arrived to the day we left. Food in the ala cartes were amazing, waiters were all fantastic and very attentive. Special thanks to goes to Sara at Reception and all the staff in the restaurants I can't remember them all.. We also used the Xanadu Club during the day, and again all the staff were amazing. Booked to return back in July for 2 weeks and again at Christmas for 2 weeks..

We arrived very late to check in after a flight delay, and the staff were very friendly and efficient. This was our third visit to the hotel. Our room was spotlessly clean and spacious with plenty of storage space and a great view of the pool and the sea. It was cleaned to a high standard every day as was the rest of the hotel. We had some minor issues with the room which were dealt with very quickly so not a problem, we were impressed by the speed of resolving any problems and the call back from reception to check issues had been resolved The hotel itself is very large with plenty of space to relax and no issues finding a sunbed. There is also the adjacent Club Xanadu hotel which can be used, a great addition providing even more choice of facilities. All the staff were excellent, friendly and helpful and this is what makes a good holiday. All day we were looked after, brought drinks, crisps and asked if we needed anything by attentive staff The a la carte restaurants were of a high standard, with excellent food. The food in the buffet restaurant was also very good and there was so much choice available. We tried all of the a la carte restaurants and loved all of them We enjoyed the evening entertainment and the choice of live music at some venues, quiet bars to relax and good shows at the large amphitheatre. There were buggies available if you did not fancy the walk which we found very useful at times Now back to the staff, everyone at the hotel was brilliant, so helpful and friendly, a special mention to Khaled Ahmed at the pool who looked after us every day, he remembered what we drank and what time we drank it! Bishoy at the Agora restaurant, Nour at the French, and Hamdy, Abdullah and Moustafa at the Italian and the a la cart breakfast, such lovely people, so thank you! Apologies if I can’t remember everyone, but you are all a credit to the hotel The all inclusive drinks were available 24 hours a day at three of the bars including the Club Xanadu hotel. With numerous other bars throughout the complex The only disappointment was that branded spirits have now been removed from most of the bars and are only available in the main building lobby bar. As a gin drinker, it meant that I could no longer enjoy a gin and tonic by the pool or watching the evening entertainment, as unfortunately I didn’t like the local gin. No sure the reason for this as I tend to choose a hotel that serves branded drinks as the quality makes a big difference. Even the Sky Bar had no branded spirits Overall, we enjoyed our holiday and we would definitely recommend this hotel

I stayed at Xanadu Makadi Bay for 4 days and unfortunately had a very disappointing experience. The beach was extremely overcrowded, and it was almost impossible to find a spot even early in the morning because many guests reserved places with towels for hours without using them. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a relaxing or quiet beach vacation.

It was our second time to this hotel and it was as amazing as ever. We came for longer this time & had no regrets! 10/10, the staff could not do enough for us! If you are polite and friendly to them they are lovely back. Ahmed from the Sky Bar gave the best service, a great member of the team!
