Pickalbatros Golf Beach Resort

Hi All, Hope you find this helpful. I arrived back yesterday from our holiday in Sharm, so I’ll start with the main concern many people have mentioned: the construction work around the resort. Currently the Lazy River, gym, tennis court, gaming area, and night discotheque are under construction and are expected to be completed between 12–17 March 2026. Once these are finished, it wouldn’t surprise me if work begins on other areas of the resort, as there are still a few things that clearly need improvement.While main salt water pool is accesible but due to constuction work around it no one use it. Our main reason for booking this holiday was to play some golf and spend time at the beach and pool. Like many guests, we were also given access to the Luxury Suites, which allowed us to use facilities at both resorts (including the gym). After spending time at both, here are our pros and cons. Pros 1. Staff From the moment we arrived, the staff were exceptional. Rahim at reception, Diaa (Front Office Manager), Mohammed in the dining area, and two Mohammeds at the Irish Bar all went above and beyond to help with anything we needed. While Luxury Suites had better food and bar options, the warmth and friendliness of the staff at Golf Beach Resort was outstanding. 2. Spa A must-try if you stay at Golf Beach Resort. The spa is newly built and the staff are fantastic. We tried the spa at both Luxury Suites and Golf Beach, and the experience at Golf Beach was noticeably better, with great attention to detail and overall service. 3. Royal Wing Rooms The rooms are excellent and located very close to the heated pool, which was well maintained and very enjoyable. There’s music throughout the day, creating a relaxed atmosphere. 4. Beach The beach is very well maintained. Because of the layout of the decks, it’s best to arrive early to secure a good spot, but you can still usually find somewhere to relax. Snorkelling here is fantastic. The coral reefs are beautiful and definitely one of the highlights of the stay. 5. Golf Course The golf course is one of the biggest in the Middle East. It’s very well maintained and great fun to play. Cons 1. Main Restaurant Food The food became repetitive and quite boring. We stayed 8 days and I can’t recall a single dish that really stood out. Sometimes the same dishes were served at both lunch and dinner. While it’s understandable that the hotel wants to avoid waste, the menu could definitely be improved. On the positive side, the fresh fruit and juices were excellent at every meal, which helped a lot. Desserts were also quite repetitive. 2. Other Restaurants We only managed to try two restaurants: Vintage and Tagine. Vintage (Italian) – Unfortunately it lacked atmosphere. The pasta was undercooked, the soup was okay, and the Caesar salad was decent, but overall it was underwhelming. Tagine – This was better than Vintage. There were many dishes for four people, though it would have been helpful if the server explained them. The baked pasta was very poor and barely touched by anyone at our table, but the rest of the food was reasonably good. Most of the other restaurants were closed, which was disappointing. 3. Evening Entertainment Entertainment was quite limited. Each night followed a similar pattern: samba dancing followed by live singers in the open area from 8:30 pm to around 10 pm. While the singers were different each night, many of the songs were the same, so it lacked variety and energy. Hopefully once the Lazy River, gym, tennis courts, gaming area, and night club are completed, the resort will have a better atmosphere, as it currently feels a bit lacking in energy. That said, whatever the resort may be missing, the staff truly make up for it with their service and friendliness. Best of luck. PS: Not many people seem to know this, and even some hotel staff weren’t aware, but certain restaurants in Soho Square offer discounts to GBR visitors. These restaurants are run by Savoy, and guests staying at Savoy receive 50% off, while other visitors receive 25% off. One evening we enjoyed great live music, food, and beer there for £40 for two people, which was excellent value. It might be worth the resort promoting this option so guests can enjoy more variety by taking an evening trip to Soho Square.

This is a 3-star hotel, and the main problem was the lack of cleanliness in the room. The bed sheet was torn, the bedding was of poor quality, and the mattresses and pillows were dirty. The bathroom was a disaster. The countertop around the sink had old dirt in the joints (visible in the attached photos), and the shower cabin tiles were also very dirty. Water was leaking onto the floor. They came to fix the issue, but we couldn’t use the shower for about 10 hours until everything dried. We had to go and shower at the SPA instead. The strong, toxic smell of silicone in the bathroom lasted for two days. The curtain was torn, and the wood around the door frame was coming off. I only saw a vacuum cleaner in the hallway once, even though the carpet there was just as dirty. My husband and I went to the SPA for four days. They used the same towels for several customers and only changed them after we pointed it out. If cleanliness is important to you, this hotel is not for you. I’m attaching a few photos so you can see for yourselves. Most guests have given good reviews, which I honestly don’t understand. Was only our room like this?! On the first evening when we arrived, we were given a room very far from the hotel reception and the restaurant. My husband has a hip prosthesis, so this was very inconvenient for him. It was a long, dark corridor toward the end of the building. During the night, mosquitoes kept flying around us. The next afternoon, they changed our room only after we paid a tip to the receptionist. I’m sorry to say that my choice was not a good one. I have no other complaints, but I will certainly not return to this hotel. (For example, in Antalya we went to the same hotel three times, and to another hotel twice.)

This hotel offers a peaceful atmosphere, and if you're looking for excellent service, Pickalbatros Golf Beach Resort is the perfect place to be. It's worth it.

Been to the hotel many times and, as usual, I cannot fault it. Yes there is major renovation work going on at the main pool but this does not affect your stay at all. There is no noise associated with this work. rooms are cleaned daily, bedding fresh. No fault in the bathroom. Restaurant is excellent and staff could not be nicer or more friendly. hats off to Ibrahim Emam, Ayman, Wahid, and Mohamed Sami for being so friendly and helpful. Would highly recommend a stay here.

Where do I start . Definitely not a 5 star hotel more 3 stars Room very dated mosquitoes 🦟 in room went to the hotel supermarket. I was charged £45 for mosquito plug-in. Aircon doesn’t work . 😞 The lobby is lovely, but who’s gonna spend there stay in the lobby all the time on holiday. Smoking in bar as well. Had a body scrub and massage the lady is really good but the facilities down there dated , dirty, disgusting to be honest. The heated pool is heated and is good. The other pool not in use . Food not good very basic very limited amount to choose from. My first solo holiday and I must be in the furthest room in the whole complex. And iv got 5 more nights 07/02/2026
