Aelius Hotel & Spa (ex. Lavris)

Both my sister and I got the deep tissue massage at the spa - it was amazing, we had Eugenia and Emma. Both were super friendly and made the experience so relaxing that my sister fell asleep!

We’ve had an amazing stay at this hotel and would happily recommend it to anyone visiting Crete. From the moment we arrived, all of the staff were so welcoming and friendly, always smiling and happy to help with anything we needed. They really made us feel at home throughout our stay. The hotel itself is spotless, with the rooms and communal areas kept incredibly clean every day. The pools were fantastic, with plenty of sunbeds available, making it easy to relax and enjoy the sunshine. The spa treatments available are brilliant. We booked the couples message for our wedding anniversary and the girls in the spa made it extra special and really went above and beyond to treat us The food was varied and always fresh, with something different to choose from each day. We particularly enjoyed being able to try some traditional Greek dishes alongside more familiar options. The location is great too, with Gouves beach, local shops and restaurants all within easy reach, while still being peaceful enough to completely unwind. A huge thank you to everyone at the hotel for making our holiday so memorable. We’ve had a brilliant week and would love to come back in the future!

My husband and I had a couples spa treatment while staying at the Aelius Hotel & Spa and it was wonderful. We had the luxury body scrub, hydration and massage package. Emma and Katia looked after us brilliantly, ensuring we had a peaceful, relaxing couple of hours. The products were really lovely and left the skin feeling incredible. Will definitely use the spa again before we leave.

Had a wonderful spa treatment/massage, my therapist Emma was amazing! The atmosphere in the room was perfect and I was so relaxed, 100% recommend!!

The hotel itself was extremely disappointing. Cleanliness and safety standards were unacceptable. The floors were not properly maintained, and on one occasion I slipped on wet flooring with no warning signs displayed. I fell heavily and hit my head on the floor. I was extremely upset and shaken, and when I asked about being checked by a medical professional, I was told I would have to pay if I wanted to be seen. The lack of care and concern shown after an accident on hotel premises was shocking. Unfortunately, the issues continued with the food standards. We even found a staple in our food, which was completely unacceptable and raised serious concerns about hygiene and food safety. The manager did not apologise and was dismissive. On top of this, we found ourselves being overcharged for taxis throughout our stay. After speaking with other guests who had taken the exact same routes, we discovered they had paid around half what we were charged. Do not recommend. The 15-minute free massage is a scam where they ask you to pay more money to get it.
