My wife and I booked a last minute break at the end of September and in to October and had a very enjoyable 11 nights stay. I would rate our stay a 4.5 out of 5 as there was the odd ‘Con’ I have highlighted below but not enough to show this as a 4 out of hence the rating of 5. We would definitely come again if we had another holiday in Crete, although I do think it could be extremely busy in the school holiday season, especially in the buffet and around the pool. Pros The a la carte restaurants - all three are good, the Italian, the Taverna and the Taverna in the Vilage that you can go to as part of the all inclusive, get the app and you can book these as many times as you like. All inclusive drinks are ok, but I’ve had better cocktails, the bar staff do work very hard at all times and are really friendly but the cocktails are mixed in their glasses not in cocktail shakers which is a shame. The Spa, my wife had a wonderful massage on her birthday, and the Spa is reasonably priced as well. The beach, plenty of sun-beds and parasols as there are at the pool, the odd issue with towels being left around the pool without their owners which could be an issue in high season. Rooms are clean and beds are comfortable and the cleaners do come every day and work hard. Enjoyed both the cookery classes and the olive oil tasting at the Taverna, which are free to guests, I would recommend these, so book up quick. The staff work very hard, especially the waiting staff in the restaurants and are they all very approachable and make you feel part of the family. Location - close to the airport Good selection of shops and restaurants outside the hotel. No wristbands and no issue with obtaining or changing pool towels. Cons Main pool too cold - from October it needs to be heated, more people would then join in the pool activities. Buffet - Carnage, queues out of the door, mental at times and understandably, the food runs out, but again, the staff work very hard. We was in room 425 in the main building, it has a pool view from the room, if you’re on the balcony, you have a side sea view, not a sea view as we booked which is a bit of a con as we paid for a Premium sea view room, also there isn’t any storage for clothes in the room other than a small wardrobe and one small cupboard. No atmosphere at the main bar on some evenings, this needs looking at and needs at least some music playing or a singer or someone playing an instrument as it’s dead at times, and there are a lot of people sitting about doing nothing when they could be engaged more, the easy solution is to move the entertainment area from its current position to outside the main bar. Again, as already stated, we would recommend this hotel and we would come back if we ever visit Crete again.
The Agapi Beach Resort is ideally situated on the beach and far enough out of the city to be quiet yet close enough for easy access. The staff are friendly and helpful and the rooms have everything you can expect.
My experience was amazing beautiful spa and my therapist was amazing and very professional hopefully, I can’t return very soon
Excellent hotel with nice bungalows. The food was absolutely marvelous. Very fresh, healthy and a lot of different dishes.
We’re just packing and leaving after a fantastic 10 days at this hotel. First up our room was lovely, the variety of pools is great. Yes there is a heated pool but as a note it’s not overly warm (according to my daughters) but it is warmer than the other 2 pools. I’d also point out though that we used all three as in the warm sun the pools are lovely. The beach is great, plenty of sun loungers. It’s worth noting that the shoreline going into the sea is rocky so like others have said some swim shoes could help, although it wasn’t an issue. The food was lovely both in the buffet, one of the best all inc buffets I’ve had, and the various a la carte options were great too. One of the major standouts were the staff. Our daughter had an ear infection during the stay and not only were we able to arrange a doctors visit but everyone on the front of house team was very caring and helped us get the medicine while also checking in on us when we walked past. Other staff were also great especially the bar staff who are always busy but happy to help with both Rena at the pool bar and Yannis and Vasilis in the atrium bar standing out. Overall great holiday and hotel.
