Amirandes - A Grecotel Resort to Live

We really enjoyed our spring break at this hotel! Aside from the ambience, one of the best things about it was that my husband and I had a real opportunity to relax thanks to the fantastic Kids Club that was run by Veronika. My children absolutely loved attending the Kids Club to spend time with Veronika and we were always very pleased to hear how they spent their time with her. Seeing them happy and knowing they were well looked after meant we all enjoyed ourselves and had a lovely holiday - thank you Veronika!

Since we arrived in the hotel we were greeted with warmth! Such a nice place with nice people! We came with two children and were very much relying on the kids club. Thankfully we were not disappointed! The girl Veronica was as very attentive to our children, even though the hotel had not many kids at that time, but she managed to organise for us so many activities. They were cleaning the shore, they were planting some flowers, making healthy snacks and dancing children dances! For us this was the best holiday, cause we were able to chill by the pool knowing that our children are safe and entertained! Thank you! And hopefully see you next year!

A beautiful looking hotel but with some major room for improvements. Staff were very nice and did their best to resolve issues but there were a lot of niggly issues that meant it didn’t really feel 5*. I’m surprised by the comments people think this is particularly family friendly, this is the area we were most disappointed with. A lack of suitable high chairs meant we waited half an hour one evening whilst they tried to track one down during our dinner. The evening buffet (which we also found really poor as adults) had literally no food for kids except one pot of spaghetti that was rolled out every evening. During the day if you eat in the à la carte restaurants, it’s the same kids menu with 5 options on across the whole of the hotel. The kids club is a major disappointment and needs work. It’s open air and looks attractive but there was either nothing going on and parents mainly used it to sit with their kids whilst they did some drawing. It’s definitely not a drop and leave style kids club. The two girls in there seemed unenthusiastic and our daughter didn’t want to go back after spending an hour there with us on one of the days. The pools are not heated which we knew in advance but I don’t know why they don’t look at trying to heat the kids pool. It’s small and shallow in size but absolutely freezing which is a real shame. There was a bit of building work going on for a new buffet restaurant but they were drilling during service, which I thought could have waited until breakfast was over. Having said all this the staff did their best to resolve issues for example offering to cook something in particular for dinner for my daughter or asking us for a pre order. They did upgrade our room after forgetting to send a transfer to the airport which was appreciated and they gave us some flexibility on the all inclusive package, which is overly complicated. For example you can’t eat the food in the pool side restaurant, you are meant to be sat on a sun lounger?! Or you can’t order from the waffle station for a child’s lunch (not included) but you can order unending bottles of champagne. Some things just don’t make sense! We did enjoy it but I wouldn’t return sadly as I think there are much better offerings for family hotels in Greece at a similar price point.

The Amirandes is a lovely hotel with great food and exceptional service from all the staff
