Atlantica Amalthia Beach

I rate this hotel 3 out of 5 because it's good, but not as good as it could be. LOCATION, the road separating the 2 parts makes a difference. It is every noisy until late at night. The hotel has 3 main areas with pools. 1 has a bar area but no toilets, another has toilets and no bar and the 3rd is back across the road. It is close to some very nice restaurants but the walk to them isn't the best, uneven, narrow poorly maintained paths. HOTEL FOOD, breakfast was good, no real queues like I read about before, staff were really good and efficient. Restaurant at the beach was awful. We ate here on the first night, quality was bad,avoid. HOTEL ROOMS, well, these new rooms are very small, they've been designed to look good but they don't work very well. Not much hanging space, you have to double up your items, nowhere to leave your cases, a useless seat where a wardrobe should be, however, the air conditioning is great! It's VERY quiet and VERY cool, well done. Overall, it is an exceptionally clean and well maintained newish hotel. Its position on the road is better than some ive seen. But it doesn't feel like a 4star even with the best sunbeds we've had in a long time. Would we come back? No, simply because there's a big world out there to see first.

Lovely clean hotel,great service. Everybody works hard for the customer. Check in very easy. Rooms are lovely, nice beds, and a nice shower. Breakfast was excellent, good choices. Great location for bars and restaurants. Lovely swimming pools and very clean 👌 We only used the middle pool across the crazy road from the hotel. It's the quiet pool, and you will get a sunbed, unlike the beach pool. It's an adult only hotel, yet big adults had inflatables strange 🤔

My husband and I stayed for a week bed and breakfast. The whole place is beautiful, the views across the bay and the hotel is modern and well kept. The service is excellent, friendly and everywhere is super clean. The breakfast choices exceptional with everything from fresh fruit to omelettes cooked to order 100% coming back

All in all a very nice hotel with pleasant, helpful staff. Although you have to pay €15 each to sit on the sun loungers on their private bit of beach and the breakfast area isn’t big enough to cope with the numbers of guests and turns into a complete scrum in the morning. I don’t like to feel like I have to compete with the other guests over anything, but that’s the case with breakfast! The area they lay out the food is tiny and gets gridlocked with guests, many of whom stand in front of entire sections of food, plate in hand, determined to load up while preventing anyone else from doing so! There are only two relatively small coffee machines servicing everyone, so you invariably have to queue! Not a pleasant experience! The hotel is well positioned though, close to plenty of nice restaurants and the air conditioning in the rooms is quiet and very effective. There are bike and car hire companies very close by if you want to explore the island a bit. I have a full bike licence and rented a 350cc scooter which my wife and I visited Charnia and Falassarna Beach on. NB they restrict your distance to 100km for free and then charge you 80cents on top for every further kilometre. All in all a good trip and a nice hotel. Just a few petty gripes that they need to work on to make the guest experience even better.
