Atlantica Amalthia Beach

Me and my husband stayed here Friday-Monday. It was the beginning of the season so was not busy at all and the weather wasn’t particularly nice either (except the last day). From the second we checked in until we left every staff member we met was just so lovely, Fofi on reception is the nicest lady ever so helpful. The hotel is so clean and modern. We had a room directly in front of the pool with beach view and it was lovely. Twin beds which was pushed together was so comfy, the shower was lovely and the tv was in English one evening when it rained we downloaded prime and just stayed in. The breakfast is very nice, the lunch was delicious 😋 We was so gutted the weather wasn’t that nice as this would’ve been the perfect couples get away had it been. There’s plenty of restaurants up and down the strip and plenty of supermarkets with everything you need. The airport is around 40 mins away very small and very easy travelling through again we was at the start of the season so not sure how it would be in peak times. If you’re able to dine at Vigli which is right at the top the food and views are stunning it also sits next to a beautiful church with lots of ww2 history. I would definitely love to come back here and it’s so pretty and the people around are so nice.

We absolutely loved our stay at this hotel. The property is divided into two sections: one by the beach and a newer section located just across the street. We were fortunate to be assigned a room in the newer part, which felt modern and well maintained. Our room was stylish and very comfortable, with complete amenities including a coffee-making station, large television, towels, toiletries, a safe, and a fridge. The room was located directly in front of the pool, with a glass door entrance facing the common area. Initially, we were a bit concerned about privacy, as the door only has curtains, but since the hotel is small and adults-only, there wasn’t much foot traffic at all. The atmosphere was quiet, peaceful, and respectful throughout our stay. Location: The location is excellent—truly one of the hotel’s highlights. There’s an ATM right outside, a supermarket next door where you can buy everything you might need, and a bus stop to the old town less than a five-minute walk away. If you walk a little uphill, you’ll also find plenty of charming, family-run tavernas. Staff: The staff were very friendly and welcoming. Rooms are cleaned daily, although beach towels are replaced every two days. Pools and Beach: The hotel has three pools—one in the main (older) section and two in the newer part. We tried all of them, and our favorite was the rooftop pool in the newer section. The older part is located by the beach, where sun loungers require an additional fee. On the day we visited the beach, there were no loungers available, so we rented from the hotel next door, which was perfectly fine. Food: We didn’t opt for the all-inclusive package and only had breakfast at the hotel, which was excellent. We think this is the best choice, as there are so many nearby tavernas—many of them family-owned—offering high-quality, authentic food. Overall, we truly loved our stay. If we return to Crete, we wouldn’t consider staying anywhere else—we would happily choose this hotel again.

Really good location. Overall lovely hotel. They offer a different menu each night if you go half board. The staff are super friendly. I’d only say that the room we stayed in was a bit outdated, but it was still a nice room. You did have to pay for the sun loungers on the beach, but you do get a bottle of water each included in that price. Which was 5 euros each when we stayed.

Melody spa, calming and relaxing atmosphere, rooms were comfortable clean and well presented and good value for money with a free facial treatment included.

Great location on the beach for walking along the strip for all bars and restaurants. Not far from the little street up into Old Agia Marina where lovely old tavernas are that are run by families and serving great value meals in pretty gardens. Beach is long and great for walking. The hotel has a lovely spot for a beachside restaurant and bar and next to one of the pools. The breakfast was lovely - small but plenty of choice but location is off the lobby and on the main road so would be better in the beachside restaurant? Room is modern and clean - clean towels and beach towels every day. All staff friendly and smily especially bar staff who even tho it was quiet kept the bar open until midnight and sometimes only us in at gone 11. Very impressive with 2 more pools over the road and the fattest comfiest sun bed pads I have ever sat on!! All public areas and loos clean. Water pressure a bit rubbish at times but nothing to spoil a lovely stay here - highly recommend. We were only 20 mins in taxi to Chania and 30 mins from a boat trip from Kolymbari. Reception staff arranged us taxis and minivan for our group all the time - all very helpful.
