This so called ‘sensatori 5 stars hotel’ is anything but. There was 4 of us, two with mobility issues which was made clear at the time of booking. The hotel thought it was acceptable to allocate our grand parents the furthest rooms possible with a shower over bath and a mattress with broken springs!!! The food in the hotel had no taste to it whatsoever and was always cold. Even on the first servings. The service was always very slow when seated as well and most of the time we had to chase or get what we wanted ourselves. The cocktails were disgusting and tasted of water. There was also a very bad odour coming from the spa which made it intolerable to walk past. As for the gym….where do I begin? There was a leak coming from the air conditioner onto the floor area in the front of the dumbbells and no one seemed to care. The equipment was very rusty and didn’t work properly. The gym also smelt of rotten sewers everytime you walked into it. I got to the point where I had to stop going in there to train because I couldn’t train in such awful conditions. Also the hotel seemed to allow tacky people there which ruined the atmosphere. We were led to believe the hotel was an exclusively Tui one which wasn’t the case at all. The hotel confirmed they only give them 70% of the rooms and the other 30% is for any old riff raffs that want to act in an inappropriate manner when drinking and make the atmosphere uncomfortable for everyone. To put the icing on the cake, we paid for late check out which was another disaster. We weren’t notified until 8am on the departure day that we needed to change rooms (we were actually asleep when the phone call was made to our room). So we had to rush around to get our things together which meant a couple of things were left behind including 3 sentimental necklaces. The housekeeping team were kind anough to move it for us however they tangled all of them together and completely ruined them. They can not be untangled anymore and the only way to fix it is to break the chains and incur the costs of replacing all 3. Whoever handled them was very horrible and reckless with them. Also the room we were given wasn’t a like for like which shouldn’t been the case!!
We had an incredible time at Atlantica Caldera Palace Resort! From the moment we arrived, it felt like pure relaxation. The hotel is beautiful, with spacious rooms, amazing sea views, and a really peaceful vibe. You can tell they really focus on comfort and detail — everything from the pools to the lounge areas is thoughtfully designed. The food was excellent — plenty of variety at the buffet and the à la carte options were fantastic, especially by the sea. It’s hard to beat having your meals with that view! The staff were beyond friendly and welcoming, always ready to help with a smile. There’s a really relaxed yet high-quality feel about the place, and it’s clear that they’re all about making your stay special. We also loved the location. It’s close enough to explore the local area, but tucked away enough to feel private and peaceful. Whether you’re lounging by the pool or strolling down to the beach, the atmosphere is calm and rejuvenating. Atlantica Caldera Palace is the perfect spot for a getaway if you’re looking for a mix of luxury, great food, and beautiful surroundings. We can’t wait to come back!
we have been to this hotel twice. Oct 23 when we got married there, the wedding team were outstanding as was the whole stay. then in Sept 25. i dont know what happened in the time between but the check in process is now a fiasco. the adult area in the main restaurant is still in a drab area at the back which makes people feel under appreciated. There should be a child area and more space for adults only in a more pleasant area. there were screaming kids not being controlled by parents all over the place. one group who arrived on our flight left halfway through due to the disruption caused For some reason sunbed reserving was awful, towels on beds for hours with no one in sight. no one did anything to stop the dawn run to put towels on beds.
Started off with a lengthy check in, when you've left home at stupid o'clock, all you want is to get to your room! To do that was a marathon..it was a trek to get to, well away from the main building and felt like we'd been put in staff quarters. It was clean and beds were comfortable. The shower however flooded the bathroom each time which we reported but was never fixed. Air con didnt work properly. Hospitality tray and complimentary drinks were not restocked regularly.Food at Buffet was bland, repetitive and lukewarm. Best food was at Thai restaurant..delicious. Requested early breakfast when we went on a trip..got few pieces of bread and cereal but no milk! Sunbeds were horrendous..worn out and broken with no support. Beach was a bit grotty with same sunbeds. Not much in locality, just a few shops and restaurants. Tried to speak to TUI rep but she was so rude we gave up
I'll preface this by saying, this is going to be a long review. We stayed at this property from October 18, 2025, to November 1, 2025. We booked directly with Tui at the Truro Cornwall office. Upon arrival, we found a family room, as booked. Very spacious with two separate areas, one with two sofa beds where our child slept, and one with a large double bed. Everything was perfectly tidy. The location of this resort is ideal for families with children. It's beachfront, free for Atlantica guests, and there are many pools with attractions for the little ones. So far, so good. After a couple of days, the problems began. The bedroom was no longer cleaned like a 5-star hotel—that's what they sold us, a 5-star hotel. There were endless lines to get a table in the buffet area. One evening, they sat us in an area where they usually serve snacks during the day, with breakfast placemats. At this point, I went directly to the Tui office inside the property. I spoke to Mrs. Sara. I clearly told Mrs. Sara that this resort was absolutely not a 5-star. Mrs. Sara told me that the stars were awarded for the services they offered—restaurants, pools, spa, etc. After my complaints, she assured me that she would improve my hotel experience. I received a message shortly afterward telling me that the restaurant staff had advised me that they would seat me at the snack table because it was pick-up time. No one notified me of this poor service, and, I repeat, this absolutely should not happen in a 5-star hotel. Two days passed, and my wife put her bathrobe on the floor to have it changed. The surprise came when we returned to the room. The bathrobe hadn't been changed, but simply put back where it was—dirty! At this point, I returned to the Tui office and asked for an explanation. The Tui office girl asked me if I had placed it on the floor in a specific position and that maybe I had misled the cleaning lady, who might have thought it had fallen on its own. I repeated to the Tui girl that if a bathrobe or towel is found on the floor, it should be changed since this is a 5-star resort. I told her it would be my last time in the Tui office, and she replied that I could have called by phone! After my complaints, instead of apologizing, she told me that if I had any other complaints, I should call! 5 STARS! We then tried 3 restaurants: Mexican, Greek, and Thai. An insult to the food of all cuisines! The restaurants are managed directly by the resort, so you'll find the same staff who rotate between the various restaurants. If you ask for a drinks menu, the answer is... they're the same everywhere since it's an all-inclusive deal!! So, there's no menu. In the Greek restaurant, we left all the food on our plates. Of course, the room wasn't thoroughly cleaned, and we found sand in the tub and hair everywhere. Conclusion: The period we chose certainly isn't the best for decent service. It's half term, and therefore very busy. But if you can't handle all this crowd, perhaps it's better to change the way you treat guests. Sometimes less is more! Finally, I'll tell you that we spent over £5,500 on this holiday and had to pay 250 euros in tourist tax. My relatives, who also stayed at the same hotel from Italy, with a sea view room and all-inclusive, spent 2,100 euros, tourist tax included, for 8 nights. Math isn't an opinion. If I multiply the 2,200 euros by 2, the result is 4,400 euros all-inclusive, not to mention that the second week usually costs a little less. I was told that the booking from Italy wasn't made with TUI. So don't book holidays with TUI again, but look for much cheaper alternatives. TUI has certainly lost five customers, but for TUI, it's not a problem; you're just a number. I'd like to give a special shout-out to all the Greek people who work here. Everyone is super kind and smiling.
