Bali Beach & Sofia Village

Where do I start? Knowing full well that this hotel had lots of stairs we paid another £150 extra to have a ground floor room but upon arrival the put us in a room that had 76 steps to get to and the room was dirty the mattress was disgusting with blood stains and wee stains. Finally after a massive row they agreed to move us. The staff are incredibly rude and laugh at in your face. The food if you could call the is inedible slops it’s the same slop every day. We ended up eating out all the time. Generally the whole hotel was worn out and tatty. AVOID THIS PLACE.

Stayed here with my boyfriend What an experience and not in a good way If you don't like walking or steps Avoid at all costs We had 30 steps to our room and when we got inside the room it was stepping back in time The most dated unclean room ever If you like friendly staff avoid If you like hot food and variety avoid The photos that are on the website are definitely not taken in this hotel The whole place is so dirty and unorganised The rooms don't get cleaned The hotel is spread out over 3 sections but with one tiny restaurant Some rooms people had to climb over 150 steps up a vertical hill to some rooms No lifts anywhere so just be aware if you have any mobility issues This place is not child friendly at all As they don't like any sort of noise The pool shuts at 6pm and there is no children's entertainment at all In fact only entertainment was on a Sunday and Monday that's it no background music nothing Oh sorry they had a tiny Tele in the main bar that was constantly on mute And one over the other bar which was broke There was no kids entertainment at all And this place is tiny harbour with hardly anything to do You have to travel at least an hour to get any life anywhere there are no snacks throughout only sandwiches that are sat in cling film in the sun no ice creams served thought the day We spent lots of time and money in the local supermarket If you like different drinks avoid You have two alcohol cocktails And very min spirits and one beer If you wanted like nicer drinks they were €7 plus Which you would pay to the barman and th n he would walk over to reception to pay there as no till in bar area 🤔 The pool bar would shut between 1-3 during the hottest time of the day so you would then have the pleasure of walking down about 5 different sections to the pool bar where you could have a warm drink and a sweaty sandwich that's it As Ice must be sacred in this place There was no ice cream or dessert Options The food was not labeled at all so didn't even know what it was The food storage was terrible there was no warming facility as I believe the stations didn't work as there was no heat coming off them The restaurant is tiny and like a rat race We even had the pleasure of witnessing the bar man from bottom pool area carrying the silver taurines which contained food for the restaurant It was wrapped in cling film and then loaded into his extremely dirty pick up truck and drove up to the restaurant If you like ice in your drinks avoid as the pool bar didn't ever have ice The main bar did but only allowed one cube If you like having fun on holidays then this is not the place to go The staff are the rudest people I have ever had the pleasure of meeting not just one or two all of them They would ignore you and talk amongst one another in their language They don't like you laughing talking and deffo not singing The bar area was like a doctor's surgery We were threatened with the police on our first night at 9.30pm This wasn't a cheap holiday either I would never stay here again even if it was free I have never ever been anywhere like it in my life I am hoping that this honest review will give people a true honest reflection of this place Because if I had known all of the above I would of never ever booked the holiday Ended up having to eat out at other places as I was worried we would get ill for to not only the temperature of the food but the whole cleanliness of this whole place

BEWARE, I wouldn’t waste your money, I WOULDNT recommend this hotel to anybody, the staff were so rude and acted as if you were bothering them just to even check in, the older lady on front desk with the blondish hair, she was so rude! She seemed to be some sort of management, laughable, she yelled at us when we were checking in and my partner walked to the side of the desk to look at the rest of the hotel, she talked to us like dogs yelling “sit” and “wait”! Then they gave us the room on the very top of the hill, so had to travel up all the stairs and hills to get up there with cases, (they advertised bellhops but the man told us “good luck” and walked away) the hand rails were wobbly and felt like they were gunna crumble away, we asked to swap rooms but soon realized that they tell everyone “come back tomorrow” so we gave up asking, Ants were coming in under the door as there was an ant colony right on the stairs on the way up ( we even saw them further Down the stairs eating a dead lizard.) The beach attached you have to pay for the beds and drinks, the pool side bar was closed pretty much most of the day, “all inclusive” is basically a beer, a few cocktails (the pool side bar had 3 cocktails to pick from), and vodka lemonade, coke or orange. The website says food, drink and snack times, but they were wrong! (See photo) No snack, pastries or cakes here like advertised, the breakfast, lunch and dinner were just the same slop (LITERALLY, whatever wasn’t ate yesterday at dinner was today’s lunch, multiple times, and they were chicken and fish dishes which I did not trust at all!) none of the food was labels and as someone with allergies I couldn’t trust it! It’s appalling! It felt like being in a care home, with the waiting staff ontop of you 24/7 taking drinks and plates of you the second you put your fork or cup down! You pay all this money for Them to have the cheek to put a sign up saying something about “the waste of foods really high so take little” is was something like That! Which I thought was very cheeky considering THEY REUSE THE FOOD! The drink machine in the restaurant were broken but never fixed the full 10 days we were here, so you go for a drink that was just pure concentrate orange or lemon! Or you wait in a queue with everyone else for one warm glass of pop, the wine and beer taps were there but covered up most days! And watered down, We spend so much more money eating out because the food was horrible, the drinks were bad! even the breakfast was cold beans being put out so the hot hold they were on could heat them up! It takes 2 minutes to warm up beans! It’s an absolute joke, the view is lovely yes, but considering what we know now i wouldn’t waste the money, even the staff made you feel so uncomfortable and unwelcome!! The room wasn’t cleaned daily, they emptied the bathroom bin and make the bed that’s all, we waited 5 days for clean towels! We also witnessed a lady complaining and arguing with the front desk as her room was full of mold! She had children with her! That’s absolutely disgusting. So overall, save your money! Go somewhere else! Don’t be nieve like us who didn’t let the negative reviews put us off!

We stayed at Bali beach and Sofia village in September 2025 for two weeks and returned for two weeks in may 2026. I emailed the hotel in January at the time I booked and made a couple of requests that the hotel fulfilled for me. For value for money I can’t recommend the hotel enough. I have read some negative reviews and have to strongly disagree. Personally I feel the food is great with something to cater for all tastes. Sometimes with buffet food it can be cooler than some like, there is a microwave for those that wish their food hotter. The cleaning staff are first class and all the staff will go out of their way to make your holiday experience as enjoyable as possible. We hope to return in September again. If you go have a great holiday.

If I could give this place 0 stars I would. This place is less than a kip. Completely falsely advertised, looks nothing like the pictures, and doesn’t state that there are 4+ different locations on the road for different rooms, it felt like a hostel. We arrived and were brought to our room which was 100 stairs up, we had 2 20kg suitcases, were young girls, and about 5 foot. This was simply not okay as it was stated nowhere that the steps and hill were this high. We arrived to our room to see a massive leak in the bathroom, which dripped down on our backs when we had to use the toilet. The hotel were aware of this issue prior to our arrival and left a bucket underneath for when we arrived. The bathroom smelled foul because of this leak. Our room was not good, the mattresses were rock hard, we used an old coarse, scratchy and rough blanket (if even) and had paper thin sheets left at the end of the bed which i had to use instead, my friend found fake eyelashes on her bed sheets, and stains on mine, these sheets were obviously not clean. Breakfast was plain, not much choice and was cold. We were not okay with our holiday up to this point and decided to contact Love Holidays, which then contacted the hotel to switch our rooms, this was not okay with us as the hotel overall was not good, food was terrible, the atmosphere was terrible, the pools were small and all beds are reserved by very early hours in the morning where nobody comes to use them for ages. There was no a la carte or spa like advertised, they had 3 cocktails which were absolutely disgusting with cheap local red wine, the real cocktails that you'd get on any night out costed extra money which was stated nowhere. The barman will ask you for cash to pocket himself and will not take card for these cocktails. There was no way for us to stay here, we went to reception in regard to refund. At first we rang them, and they knew us straight away from the previous love holidays call. As soon as we mentioned “refund” they told us they couldn’t hear us to come down. We went down and the receptionist was very rude, and no doubt talking rubbish about us to the male staff that was there in greek. We were not backing down as we knew they probably thought we were naive young girls. We demanded to speak to the manager to which she refused and said she is too busy with other hotels and we would have to email, this was at about 1:20pm. This receptionist kept telling us to go eat lunch, repeatedly, almost as if we were just hungry and this was why we were complaining. We pushed this further and she ended up telling us the manager would be here at 2pm. We met with the manager and she was nice enough, moved us room to a lower floor but at this point the room wouldnt have made a difference, the hotel was not up to standard and the rude staff also. In the end we had to change hotel, and had not even been here for 24 hours. Take this review from somebody who never leaves a negative review or complains much, i didn’t take the other reviews literally as i thought it was a slight over exaggeration. I wouldnt send my worst enemy here. Shoutout to the 2 male workers who actually helped us bring our bags to the new room as they saw us struggling, the others looked at us and didnt bother as we had just made a complaint.
