Bali Beach & Sofia Village

Room was not cleaned thoroughly, there was hair in the shower drain and quite large cobwebs/dustballs on the AC unit when i checked into the room. Food was just ok, did not cause stomachache (yay), but calling it tasty would be quite generous. A few times the restaurant was stacked there were no tables in the restaurant available. Sunbeds near the pools are free, but by 8am all are reserved, good luck finding a pair. Sunbeds on the beach are paid but were always available, ~12 euros for one sunbed for a day during summer months. Bar on the beach is paid even if you’re all inclusive. There was decayed remains of (presumably) a cat on the road next to the hotel. Other than that the place was lovely.

They say you get what you pay for. Well, I paid peanuts for this holiday and still felt robbed. I've now learnt to never book a holiday without looking at the reviews and never, never book a holiday when you've been drinking heavily 😂 The hotel has 3 sites that are all on steep hills and steps - no lifts. One of our party has mobility issues and really struggled, so had to be moved. He felt ill and short of breath all week after negotiating these steps, and when he got home never seemed to recover. Eventually, he attended the local A&E where he was told he'd had a heart attack!! The food is very basic, but you won't starve. There's not a great choice of drinks, and the bar shuts from 1 - 3 pm. The staff are pretty miserable and not particularly friendly. They will talk to each other in Greek, whilst looking at you and smirking. Our room was nothing like the pictures advertised, and the beds were incredibly hard. My bed was genuinely like sleeping on a snooker table. All in all, I'd say to avoid this place unless it's all you can afford.

This is very much a 3* hotel and you do indeed get what you pay for! We paid £370 for a week All Inclusive and in our eyes wasn't bad value! We paid the extra £20 for a sea view and our room was amazing and modern. Lots of steps, if you are infirm on your feet, avoid. Food, lots of choice but often cold, but still edible! Drinks no issues at all! Sunbed wars around the pool daily! In the week we were there we never got round the pool once. We found a little hidden area with a few beds and fabulous views and spent the week there! Beach is lovely! Lovely sand and clear waters! There is charge for sunbeds on the beach mind! Lack of entertainment in the evenings. Appreciate it was May but the hotel was full and warranted something more. We had one night of music and a magician on another night! hahaha! Look overall this place needs a bit of TLC, but its location is fabulous! Its somewhere to eat and sleep! We would go again for the price!

We recently stayed at this hotel and unfortunately it was one of the most disappointing hotel experiences we’ve had. On arrival, we were initially allocated a room that was located up a significant number of steep steps with no lift access. Travelling with toddlers, prams and luggage, this was completely impractical. When we raised concerns, we were initially told to leave the prams elsewhere before eventually being moved to Room 159. Unfortunately, Room 159 had numerous issues. The air conditioning was broken, making the room unbearably hot. Despite reporting it, the issue was not taken seriously until a maintenance worker confirmed the unit was faulty. The room was also dirty, including debris left on the floor, and the balcony area contained a large air conditioning unit which made it unsuitable for young children. We were then required to pack everything up and move rooms ourselves, with no assistance from hotel staff despite travelling with toddlers, luggage, cots and prams. We were moved to Room 154, but unfortunately the problems continued. The shower had poor water pressure, the sink produced only scalding hot water, and the kettle didn’t work. Most concerningly, there was a loose wall fitting that repeatedly fell out and exposed live electrical wiring. With toddlers in the room, this was an extremely serious safety concern. We reported it, but nothing was done. Cleanliness throughout the hotel was poor. Other members of our party staying in Room 38 found extensive mould on the walls and throughout the bathroom. Despite repeated complaints, they were refused a room move and ultimately had to purchase cleaning products themselves. The hotel itself felt tired, neglected and poorly maintained. Throughout our stay we encountered broken bannisters, uneven steps, holes in walls, dirty communal areas and various maintenance issues that either weren’t fixed or took far too long to address. Safety was a major concern. A broken bannister near our room was removed but never replaced. Water leaked across steps leading to the restaurant, causing members of our party to slip and fall. One person was carrying a young child at the time. Despite the obvious risk, no warning signs were put in place and staff did little to address the immediate hazard. The “all-inclusive” offering was also disappointing. Food was largely unlabelled, allergen information was limited, tea and coffee were unavailable for much of the day, bottled drinking water was not provided, and some advertised drinks were unavailable for periods of our stay. Families should be aware that we found very little aimed at children. Highchairs were dirty or broken, there were no suitable replacements available, and the hotel was not particularly child-friendly despite appearing to cater for families. One member of our group with mobility issues was effectively trapped in their room for two days before eventually being moved to a more accessible location. Some staff members were pleasant enough, but overall we found management dismissive when concerns were raised. The overriding impression was of a hotel that is in desperate need of investment, maintenance and a thorough deep clean. Exposed wiring, mould, broken fixtures, unsafe walkways and poor accessibility are not what guests should expect from a hotel welcoming families. Based on our experience, we would not return and would not recommend this hotel, particularly to families with young children or anyone with mobility issues.
