Daios Cove Resort & Luxury Villas

We have been here 2 days now and are underwhelmed having stayed at ikos we were told this was similar but it’s definitely not. Rooms are very basic with limited toiletries, welcome amenity was water and three apples, mini bar was empty on arrival you have to order daily, bedding is v basic only 2 pillows and no scatter cushions or soft furnishings, cushions on balcony were soaking wet, no smart tv so couldn’t connect and watch our own apps, channel choice v limited . If you’re on the mountainside and it’s windy it’s beyond noisy - we’ve had two nights with no sleep ! The pool and beach are over 30 min round trip to rooms which are on the beyond steep hillside accessed via a single very slow fernicular which means you can’t pop back to rooms for anything once you leave you’re out for the day! There is No library which isn’t the end of the world but a foc nice thing to have and we’ve not experienced a hotel without one for years! The bar isn’t big enough and is full of children there is no adult only bar. Food - buffet is dreadful everything is cold and crusty no vegetables at all after 2nd visit we’ve decided to have pool food for lunch and skip dinner. Service is average plates aren’t cleared quickly and staff are scruffily dressed wearing non uniform hoodies. The Quality of service is intermittent 3* at best no one introduced themselves by name at all or asked how our meal was we had to chase to settle the bill. Beautiful rooms with stunning sea views, excellent food, and private beach access. The dining was a highlight in itself. Every meal was a pleasure — carefully crafted, deeply flavourful, and served with genuine care. The same can be said for every corner of the resort. Whether we were at the reception or the restaurant, relaxing at the bar, or indulging in a treatment at the Kepos SPA, the level of service never wavered. Daios Cove is a stunning property architecturally hugging the Cretan coast. Offering pure luxury seclusion. The collection suites are beautifully finished in neutral colours with a generous balcony and stunning views across the bay. The food is delicious. Stunning tasty dishes and who doesn’t love a Greek Salad. ? The residents club offers all inclusive. Verve champagne is the house champagne which is something we can all get used too. Above all, as always with the Greeks. It’s the people. It’s natural to be engaging and enthralling. To serve with a genuine smile and desire. Like one of the family. Dimitris, Maria. Panos, Nik, and everyone I met. Hospitality done right in a simply stunning setting.

This hotel is just amazing. After a transfer from the hotel through amazing views you finally arrive to the hotel. We stayed in one of the collection rooms with a private pool. Just perfect! To move within the hotel all is well organised, the restaurants are amazing and we had a couple of special dinner the occurred during our stayed! Really upscale! The kids also loved it and were very well taken care. The pools, the staff, all very nice. The morning we left we were pretty badly treated at the bar, really sad… follow-up by guest relations with Mara was really perfect, just what you can expect from an hotel like this one. Then a sad email exchange with the rooms manager… some people should know when to shut up. Still, a perfect stay!
