GRECOTEL Creta Palace

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ We had a wonderful stay at Grecotel Creta Palace. The hotel is beautiful, the gardens are very well maintained, and the location directly on the beach is fantastic. The beach is one of the highlights: it is long, never feels crowded, there are plenty of sunbeds, and the sea is crystal clear with beautiful turquoise water and soft sand. The beach bar is also very nice. The food was excellent. Everything was fresh, of very high quality, and there was a great variety every day. A special highlight was the Kids Club. It is truly amazing! The team speaks several languages, including German, and the daily programme is fantastic. The newly opened water slide park is also a great addition and now open. One recommendation for future guests: if a renovated room is important to you, it’s worth discussing the room category with the hotel before your arrival, as some rooms have already been renovated. A very special thank you goes to the Guest Relations Manager, Mr. Ilias Damanakis. From the moment he took care of us, we felt we were in the best hands. He listened to our concerns with kindness and professionalism and found a solution that allowed us to fully enjoy the rest of our holiday.

Beautiful facility, fantastic beach, lots of space between umbrellas, new pool area never crowded (at least not before July peak starts) We had very nice room (934), with shaded terrace and direct view of the sea) Thanks to Anila superclean Management and restaurant staff superfriendly But the food in the main restaurant in evenings is waaaay beyond 5 Star standard, not even 3 stars, breakfast good, but dinner mostly tasteless, even pub food or a basic good inn in Austria for ex would be better Grecofarm also bit disappointing, 20 Euros to get there and back, trip around ok but farm is not superwell kept, lazy river neglected, ancient machinery bit sad to look at, but food also bit a drag, it is a menu, lots of bits for starters trickle in, main reason for visit was to get a good Roast Lamb (Antikristo), but we got one piece of it, then pork and chicken (both bit dry, and not really what we wanted). Sadly we just have booked our next trip - to Dubai, to get REALLY good food, does not have to be Michelin star, but just one notch below, on holidays food is a key component of the experince, if you dread to go to dinner it is just not good enough.

We stayed for 7 nights at this hotel on our 3rd visit to the Rythmynon area. We arrived in the early hours of the morning and were welcomed by friendly night reception staff .We were shown to our room which was modern and clean. Unfortunately the view from the balcony was very disappointing, not really a sea view as described more a view over bungalow roofs to the sea. This was sorted out the next morning by a friendly and efficient receptionist and by lunchtime we were moved to a room looking onto the pool and beach. Don't know why hotels do that, maybe they think you're too tired to complain. Anyway on a positive note this hotel is absolutely stunning and has been refurbished throughout. The staff are also a credit to the hotel and are so helpful and friendly. The breakfast and evening meals were also great with plenty of choice. The beach is spotlessly clean with plenty of sunbeds and free towels which you can pick up at the beach and pool areas. Rythmynon is easily reachable by public bus 1.20 euros or taxi 10 euros. A couple of suggestions to management would be to advertise the room type we were initially allocated as partial sea view to avoid disappointment. Also we would have appreciated if the entertainment had carried on maybe an hour longer as it did stop around 10pm. Apart from these issues we would definitely recommend this hotel.

My wife and I decided to go for a quick trip to the Grecotel Creta Palace, with our daughter who has just completed her first year at university. We have been to this hotel before and returned, because we like its situation on the beach and, very important to us, the quality of the food. And we were not deceived. The staff has been extremely friendly and helpful, smiling and that is another good reason to spend some time in this hotel. The setting is nice as well, with lush greenery around and like a small Cretan village, with church, coffee shop and Greek tavernaki. A lot has been changed in this hotel with nice rooms and the pool that has nearly doubled its size compared to what it was before. So nice. The same is true for the kids’ pool behind the hotel. We have not been able to profit from all the transformations, as there are more that were about to be completed: from what we could see, the water slides will be tremendous and I know we want to return to try them. And also the Greek à la carte restaurant, which we could not try, unfortunately. It was not fully operational yet and if it is of the same quality as the Italian or Asian restaurant, then it will be great. And I have no doubts about that. Not to mention the ‘normal’ buffet, which is really nice too and you always have to make choices what you want to taste, as it is impossible to try everything. Great thank you to all at the hotel, you made us enjoy our spontaneous, unplanned holiday a lot and we look forward to coming back.

My husband and I enjoyed a fantastic week at the Creta Palace at the end of June. The hotel is beautiful, thank you to Miss Veronica for ensuring we had a stunning third floor sea-view room. We stayed here last September and couldn’t wait to return. The rooms which were lovely then have since been completely refurbished to a very high standard. All the staff are fantastic and so helpful, a special thank you to Efi in the restaurant who looked after us so well. Thank you also to our wonderful chambermaid who made up our room after breakfast every day and endured it was beautiful. The grounds are beautifully maintained with well tended flowers and shrubs. The beach and pool areas are wonderful. All in all a fantastic and relaxing holiday where we were made to feel very special. We have already recommended it to friends and will definitely return.
