GRECOTEL Creta Palace

This hotel should not call itself luxury or have a rating of 5 star. There is only a part of the hotel that has this potential but rest is very much disappointing given the exaggerated promises they make on their website. The room itself is shocking and awfully outdaded- plastic shower curtains (shower curtain in a 5*??), mould everywhere, adult man barely fits in the shower, missing grouting, absolutely disgusting balcony. The food and variety is again not 4*, kids playground area needs refurbishment, aquapark nice but with no single slide for children under 6.. Again, if they want to put people in the old part of the hotel they should inform them that the rooms are nowhere near 5 or even 4 stars so they can manage their expectations and choose elsewhere for their money. I booked on the basis of reviews and don't want people make the same mistake.

Hotel is quite big and there is a serious issue of small pools and the lack of sunbeds. During our 6-days stay there were 5 days of red flag on the beach (windy, big waves). We were not able to find any sunbed near pools or have 1 sunbed for 4 member family. This is not value of money in 5 star hotel. We are not used to "fight" for sunbed during our holiday. Sorry but no return in the future. Other services are ok, staff is friedly. Rooms are clean. Food in the main restaurant ok, but we were not able to book a la carte restaurants because of no free slots. Indoor gym for hobby sportmen only, not well equipped, no free weights as barbells etc. Outdoor gym almost nothing, no racks, old plates, old and dirty dumbells. Although we have Lux me program, everywere you must present your room number, staff has to check and you get the bill to sign. Strange and time consuming system.

This was our 2nd visit to this hotel, from the moment we arrived our luggage was taken to our room and a lovely lady i did not get her name was also there to meet us, where we were taken into the hotel for welcome drinks and shown to our room. Everyone is so friendly and welcome, i would like to say how we would often speak to Dmitra in the Lobby bar such a lovely young lady, as were all the other staff. The food is very good in the buffet restaurant also good variety of drinks. The swimming pools are lovely and so is the beach. We would often go into Old town and only 10 euros in a taxi, highly recommend going on the sight seeing bus 90 minutes for all round trip and the train ride. Will definitely be back.

Our stay at Grecotel Creta Palace was exceptional from beginning to end. This is one of the best resorts we have ever stayed at, and every member of the team made us feel genuinely welcome. The level of hospitality, professionalism, and kindness was outstanding. A heartfelt thank you to the entire team for their exceptional service. We were especially grateful to the restaurant staff for their kindness and attention to our daughter, and to the wonderful teachers at the Grecoland Kids Club, who were caring, patient, and amazing with her, making her feel happy, safe, and excited every day. The resort is beautiful, the facilities are immaculate, and the food is exceptional, with excellent quality and variety. What truly won my heart were the unique details that make this resort so special: the beautiful little chapel, the charming shop offering high-quality monastic products, and the warm, welcoming atmosphere there. I also loved the traditional café and the picturesque little square, which made the resort feel like an authentic Greek village. These thoughtful touches gave the resort a unique character and made our stay even more memorable. Thank you to every single member of the staff for creating such a wonderful holiday experience. We wholeheartedly recommend Grecotel Creta Palace and will certainly be visiting more Grecotel resorts in the future. We cannot wait to return!
