GRECOTEL Creta Palace

This is my 4th visit to Creta Palace, my husband went many times, throughout his teens and early adulthood. We have two children, at the time of travel were 5 and 8. We have visited Creta Palace in 2022, 2023 and 2025. This is a truly honest review of the resort and we hope many will find it helpful. Creta Palace is one of the most charming resorts. It has a long history and is located in a wonderful area, close to the town which is brilliant. Our last visit in August 2025 was different to the previous years, in that the hotel has clearly made investments in areas and there are improvements, to an already 5* hotel, but these did not go unnoticed. As a family we have travelled to other Greek resorts such as Ikos, so do have a certain level of expectation. The Service is amazing. There are members of staff who have been at Creta Palace since my husband was a teenager (he's now 42!!) so you really get the family feel, they take so much pride in their work and it comes across. So friendly, professional and immaculate. You are never left waiting and nothing is a problem. The food has always been very good but improved in 2025. There are more luxurious selections in the main buffet (sea food in particular). The salad choices are immense - so good that you can have this as a main meal if you wish - I certainly did! For Lunch, the Brasserie and Beach bar are brilliant. We spent more time this year in the beach bar and no words can describe the atmosphere here. It is just perfect. Everything about it, the view, the decor, the ambiance. The staff are so busy but they are highly trained and the service cannot be faulted. Room wise - we have been a few times now so we know what suits us and booked the Ground Floor Deluxe Bungalow. This has two separate sleeping areas, two bathrooms and a garden. Whilst the rooms do need updating, they are fine and trust me when I say - I am fussy. You do need to bear in mind in Greece etc the rooms are more simple so to speak, than what you might experience in other parts of the world. In any event they are cleaned to a very high standard, turn down service is offered and we were perfectly comfortable. The pools are clean and maintained. Yes, sunbeds can be a bit tricky to get, but the staff are on hand to help you and to be honest I got over this quite quickly. Its not the hotel's fault - people just need to be mindful of others and just take what they need! Beach is amazing and I spent more time there this holiday. It was perfect and had the same level of bar service etc. The children's entertainment was slightly less in 2025 (in terms of nightly shows) but we did give this feedback and hopefully this will be taken into account next summer. In terms of children, Creta Palace staff love kids. Everywhere we went our children were welcomed. They have formed bonds with the resort and its very special to see. It was a honor to have met and spoke to Vasilis Karapanagiotidis - Hotel Manager and Antigoni I. Papadogianni (Assistant Room Division Manager) on our last day. Vasilis was the manager of another resort at the time we visited in 2019 (although we didn't know this). He has clearly got some amazing plans for Creta Palace (we are very excited!), and he welcomed our feedback and really understood what we look for in a family holiday. Creta Palace has charm, beauty and is wonderful. I have come to accept parts which need updating/improvement but I am sure these will be done - because it is clear that changes are happening. We recently heard that the resort has LUX ME status, which is great. For our family, we have a special place in our hearts for this resort, and look forward to seeing how it develops in the very near future. Thank you to all of you at Creta Palace.

We chose to return to Grecotel Creta Palace after having such a wonderful holiday there for the first time in 2024. After checking many different locations and hotels we still felt that going back to this hotel was going to be tick all the boxes. We were not let down in any way. If you are looking for a relaxing break in a stylish setting where staff are attentive to your needs this is the place for you! We were also so pleased to see the same welcoming faces. Antigoni and Ilias on the main reception team are so perfectly suited to their roles. We were in the best hands and felt very special to also be remembered by them too. The food in the main restaurant is of a good standard and the hotel is spotlessly clean and well maintained.

Everything was excellent! My wife, my daughter, and I stayed at the hotel for two nights as part of a group of 25 people attending a music event at the nearby Arkadi Monastery. When we stepped off the bus, we simply told the hotel staff which suitcases were ours, and later we found them already placed in our rooms. While our travel agents were collecting our room keys, we were welcomed in the garden with soft drinks. The rooms were spacious and with welcome fruits, sweets and sparkling wine. Very nice gardens, cultivating their own vegetables! Also, a small market like the central square of a small village, with church, kafeneio (cafe) etc. Everything impressive and nice. On both mornings, we enjoyed an excellent and generous breakfast, featuring a variety of Cretan foods. Finally, excellent service from the hotel personnel. I strongly recommend this hotel—if it fits your budget.

We loved our first holiday abroad with our two boys. The hotel was beautiful, the staff helpful and the food delicious!! Such a big range on offer and didn't feel too busy. The beach was very close to the hotel and pools were nice. So convenient having towels and sun loungers in good supply! My boys particularly loved the kids club, the staff really went the extra mile. Georgia and Eirini in particular. The entertainment was mostly good and suited our boys. The kids pool wasn't huge and slides basic, but just right for us, we often had whole pool to ourselves. The room was spacious and practical. In general we highly recommend Creta Palace and didn't want to come home!

We were traveling as family, and I was enjoying every day I stayed in Grecotel Creta Palace. Want to thank all personnel for hard work - creating real paradise for tourists. Rooms were very comfortable - always clean. During hot sun 11-13 our child was staying in KidsClub, that's great! Kitchen was really tasty, we had 1 evening alia Carte in restaurant - our family really enjoyed restaurant - looking on sunset :)
