GRECOTEL Marine Palace & Aqua Park

We arrived as a family of three, having booked a Casa Marina Family Suite with Pool/Garden View directly with the hotel. This booking included a range of benefits: free transfers, a welcome gift of fruit and wine, spa credit, and a couple of other perks. From the outset, it was clear the hotel had no record of our extras. Despite emailing ahead to request a bed guard and toddler seat, neither was in the room on arrival, nor was the welcome gift, which never materialised at all. When we tried to use our spa credit, staff had no idea it existed. The room itself was large but shabby and felt dirty. The fridge was empty on arrival and stayed that way for two days. The resort was extremely busy over half term, which made the pools almost unusable. On one occasion, while I was actually in the pool with my daughter, a towel attendant attempted to remove my towels and belongings because another guest was complaining about sunbeds. The entire experience left me on edge, anxious to even swim or grab a drink. I've never encountered such an aggressive policy anywhere else. The snack bar was repetitive and poor quality. The buffet was inconsistent, some days reasonable, others genuinely bad. The most disappointing element was the staff. Almost everyone seemed unhappy and disengaged, managers included. The one exception was the lovely woman working on the entrance to the main restaurant, who was genuinely warm and seemed to be holding the whole place together on her own. Cleanliness was non-existent. The pool toilets were in a poor state throughout our stay, and our room was never properly cleaned, just towels swapped, beds made, and a handful of items shuffled around. For the price paid, that's simply not acceptable. Entertainment was a mixed bag. Some of the children's entertainers were great, others less so. The disco skewed heavily towards German-speaking children, which made our daughter feel quite excluded. Arrival set the tone for the whole stay. There was no welcome, no offer of drinks, a brief glance at a map, and then we were passed between three different people before anyone took us to our room. We visit hotels across Greece twice a year and can honestly say this is the worst experience we have had. This hotel is not a five-star. It's a poor four-star at best. We had been planning to visit the Grecotel White Palace next year, but after this experience we are now looking elsewhere. I don't trust that this chain can deliver the basic standards of service, food, and cleanliness we would expect.

Great for kids, especially having the water park on site. Great variety of food on offer and all fresh. Staff are super friendly and helpful.

Great hotel, good food, nice staff and lots to keep the kids busy. A nice spacious room Pools and waterpark would have been nice a bit warmer!

Manos was awesome. He hepled us to organize the Birthdays of my daughter and my niece. And was always there for us! Thank you!!!
