GRECOTEL Marine Palace & Aqua Park

I came with my family, including 2 kids: 3 years old and 7 years old, to this hotel back in July. After flying several hours and then an hour drive from the airport, it took us about an hour to check in. We arrived at the hotel around 14:00. Once we got the key, we have been informed that the room type that we have specifically asked for is not available..., instead we will receive a superior room (Casa Marina Maisonette next to the Aquapark). Now I remember the lady told us that if we will like the room, we can stay there. The room was very nice, nothing wrong there, but having small kid on those steep stairs between rooms, was a bit of a concern for me. But since we are staying only few days, I didn't want to bother with moving around. Surprise! We got next day a message that we need to free up the room, as it's not something we have paid for. Ok, fair. But Dear Hotel, when I am paying 4k EUR for a vacation, I expect to get what I have paid for, nothing more, nothing less... I didn't make any mistake in paying 20 EUR less or anything like that, so it will be fair from your side to give back what you have agreed, nothing less. I don't want to waist my time packing and moving around the hotel with 2 kids.. No ridiculous discussions about ''compensations'', meaning a dinner in the Italian restaurant. Really?? I have been asked by the stuff 3 times during my stay, if I want a reservation there, for free. There is nothing special there, so your idea about compensation is ridiculous. I don't even want to receive a feedback from you. Now coming back to the overall experience. The food was very good, nothing to complain, plenty of choices. I didn't try all the restaurants, but I can highly recommend the BBQ one by the sea. The combination of great food an sea view is perfect. The stuff was very kind and helpful. There are parties and shows for the kids in the arena, they have enjoyed this part a lot. The beach is small, with clear rules, but of course you have lots of guests that are blocking the spots/ sunbeds with their towels and going for breakfast for few hours. Unfortunately the kids that are looking for this area of the hotel are arriving late, around 10:00, when they are opening the beach bar. Be careful on those stairs between the 2 areas of the Aquapark, I have seen a lot of people injuring themselves, including myself. Those stairs are very slippery.

I couldn't fault this place. It was clean, friendly, the food was amazing. Such a lot of lovely fresh food, you will not go hungry. The pools were clean, the staff couldn't have done enough and the evening entertainment was professional and fun. We ate, we lay, we swam. The beach was easily accessible and shallow enough for younger kids, very calm sea when we were there. The water park was the best funfor both adults and children's alike. If you want an all inclusive family holiday in Crete, go here. You won't be disappointed. We weren't.

Fabulous resort with amazing amenities and views. Staff is courteous, helpful, buffet was huge and varied. Great for all ages with focus on kids.

Very good atmosphere, big buffet with meals for everyone. All personnell is friendly and helpful at any time. All is clean and looks well in shape. All fine! Great here. And thanks to Elena for her very friendly service.

Great experience staying at this property. Food was exceptional and staff extremely friendly. Perfect for families with young children. We appreciated the fantastic gym as we were able to still continue our weight training regime. You can appreciate the quality and reputation the hotel try’s to maintain. Managers are always on duty paying attention to every detail. No shortage of food or variety. They cater to all dietary needs. Definitely would recommend this hotel to others.
