Kalypso Cretan Village

Food was fine and location good but if basil fawlty had a Greek hotel this would be it, sewage overflowing into bathroom took 36 hrs to sort, we dared not use toilet after and used one in main hotel, €10 to use a hotel sun lounger p/d, two stitches required first day for a cut from the side of pool, was told I had drunk too much coffee at breakfast after 3rd cup, we were half board so no free drinks- and those that were all inclusive still had to pay a percentage at certain times- but in the middle of dinner I was literally accused of stealing a beer that I was drinking at table by management, and after I tried to explain I had bought it from terrace bar previous to sitting down to eat I was marched, having to leave my 12 yr old daughter at the table to the terrace bar so the bar staff there could vouch for me, even then I had to retrieve the folded receipt from the ash tray. I have never felt the need to complain on here before but this place was really not good, tennis court was a complete right off and gym had three broken pieces of equipment- none working- all but two weights missing and there was a boat being stored in it. I served in the British Parachute Regiment, I am not a whinger and can rough it better than most but pls don’t go to this hotel, didn’t speak to many satisfied people there. South coast of Crete is still unspoiled old Greece and well worth a visit, just not at this hotel, please!

Great Hotel, friendly Guesthouse, Lot of amazing things to do, lovely Greece Food. We will come again for shure.

A truly beautiful hotel with a peaceful atmosphere and very clean, cozy rooms. The service was excellent — the staff were kind, attentive, and made me feel very welcome. Highly recommended!
