Maybe this review will save someone’s money and nervous system. Before booking this hotel, we spent a long time researching the best places on the island. This hotel positions itself as a 5-star luxury resort, and we specifically booked a sea view room because this trip was special for us — an anniversary tradition with my husband. We didn’t try to save money because we wanted comfort, beauty, peace, and a modern luxury experience. When we arrived, we were placed in a room facing a wall. Literally a wall. When we asked to be moved to the room category we had actually booked, we were told the hotel was fully occupied and “maybe tomorrow” they could move us — but nothing was guaranteed. Instead of relaxing, we had to go to the reception multiple times (around three times) just to remind them and push for a solution. Eventually, they showed us several rooms of a lower category and moved us into one that was still below what we paid for, but at least it didn’t face a wall anymore. No compensation. No sincere apology. A few more points worth mentioning: • The rooms are old, the doors squeak, and there is basically no soundproofing. The hotel is clearly outdated, even if somewhat maintained. • Some staff members were surprisingly unprofessional and unfriendly. Either fake smiles or attitudes that made us feel like we were bothering them in their own home. • There are A LOT of mosquitoes. Opening the balcony door in the evening is almost impossible. • Communication with the staff was exhausting. Only on the 4th day did we finally receive shower gel and slippers, despite asking several times. The floors are cold, by the way. • Housekeeping is very superficial. • Breakfast is exactly the same every single day and very basic: potatoes, mushrooms, eggs, sausages in slightly different variations, with very few vegetables or greens. • There is no accessible drinking water on the hotel grounds. Once you finish the tiny 0.3 bottle in your room, you have to pay for every next bottle. • Dinners are repetitive as well, and even water during dinner must be paid separately. And there were countless other small issues I honestly don’t even want to waste more time describing. The final night was the perfect ending to this “luxury” experience: workers were painting rusty poles on the beach, and the smell of paint was blowing directly onto us while we were trying to relax. But the real cherry on top came after the rain: the air conditioners stopped working completely, and there was a rat running around on our balcony. Draw your own conclusions. The only real positives are the beautiful bay, stunning nature, and clean water. For me, this hotel is a 3-star property at best — definitely not 5 stars, and certainly not luxury. At the moment, it is also one of the most expensive hotels on the island. Don’t waste your money here, even with a discount. Take a closer look at the neighboring hotel instead 😉
The design and location of this hotel are truly exceptional. The property itself is of a very high standard—spotlessly clean, peaceful, and incredibly relaxing. We cannot praise the staff highly enough; they are a real asset to the hotel. A special mention goes to Anila, who looked after us so well at breakfast in the beautiful garden setting and again during our evening meals. The service throughout was consistently warm and attentive. I also have to highlight one of the best Negronis I’ve ever had—many thanks to the bartender! In terms of improvements, at times the hotel felt more like an events venue than a holiday destination. A bit more focus on leisure guests would enhance the overall experience. Additionally, for guests on a half-board basis, it would be great to have the option to dine in one of the alternative restaurants at no extra cost, rather than receiving a 25% discount. Especially when entertainment is taking place, it would be nice not to feel like you have to pay extra to fully enjoy those facilities.
This is a fantastic hotel. The staff from reception to water sports to restaurant staff to cleaners and luggage collectors are very friendly and efficient. Our room (413) was great. Unbelievable views and very quiet. Our only slight issue was that a blackout blind would be useful as the room faces the sun rising. The restaurants were excellent and breakfast outside is fabulous. Entertainment was good particularly the Greek evening with dancing (for everyone). It was my birthday and the hotel made it really special. An outstanding week and a spectacular place.
This hotel is a real hidden gem. It never fails. This is our 5th visit
We had an amazing stay! The staff was exceptionally friendly, attentive, and professional. The food was outstanding, with great variety and quality every day. The views were absolutely breathtaking from every corner of the resort. We also loved the thoughtful turn-down service and the fresh flowers in the bathroom, which added a special touch of luxury. A truly unforgettable experience – we highly recommend this hotel and definitely will return.
