TUI BLUE Insula Alba

Well, this was definitely a 5 star hotel. The staff were attentive, polite, friendly and professional Our room was spacious, comfortable, we had robes, slippers, branded toiletries and our maid kept it immaculately clean. We were all inclusive so, all food and drinks were on tap, literally. There was so much food choice and, although some of it was recycled which you’d expect, items were cooked fresh daily. Branded drinks were available and there was so much choice. A special mention must go to Manos the pool bar bartender. He was friendly and made everyone think that he was there just for you. He was funny as well and kept the guests entertained. Entertainment was almost nonexistent but that didn’t bother us because we like a relaxed holiday.

My Husband booked this as part of our Silver Wedding Anniversary presents, arriving 2nd May at the start of the season. We felt comfortable from the moment we arrived … greeted with cold fresh orange juice, taken to our room (double with balcony overlooking the swim up pools) by buggy and told dinner would be at 6.30 onwards (we arrived late afternoon). We were so impressed by the space, the cleanliness, there was a stocked mini bar and ouzo for the two of us. Not much space for clothes but a good size wardrobe and the bathroom was gorgeous! Two decent size basins and a lovely walk in shower with on the wall toiletries which were lovely. I was very pleased with the hairdryer just the right speed and temperature. To get on to food … buffet style every meal … plenty of choices for breakfast lunch and dinner with pretty desserts which weee far too tempting for us! We had good portions of salad, grilled meats and fish and pasta/rice/veg and desserts. Fresh fruit available too and even porridge at breakfast! Wine and beer are served to you by very courteous waiters/waitresses and you can help yourself to soft drinks/water/sparkling water from a machine, also coffee and hot chocolate. And there is the pool bar! Managed beautifully by Manos and his wonderful Team … cocktails of all sorts (most of them available on the all inclusive), spirits and lager, coffee, soft drinks, mixers, you can have them all. Manos is very friendly and never stops from 10 am to when he goes home and always friendly to all. We didn’t use the pool as it’s not heated and we not keen on cold water but did use the indoor heated one which was fine but a bit deep for us (my husband prefers to be able to touch the floor in places). Weather first 2 days was iffy but then the sun shone … and shone! The complex is beautiful and well worthy of the 5* rating it has. The reception kindly asked housekeeping team for 2 more pillows for us as I found the others a bit soft and are always willing to help. We didn’t really take advantage of the entertainment (which was low key) but would next time. We would love to return … not a cheap holiday but I do believe you get what you pay for and we had a wonderful 10 days! Thank you … we really enjoyed our stay

Wine and drinks were good. A number of other guests saying service wasn’t up to the 5 star rating but depending on what you pay we couldn’t grumble. All staff were lovely and hard working. Not a great variety in food but we did eat out a few evenings in the village. Clean and tidy at all times. Rooms nice

Fantastic Holiday from start to finish the most amazing experience, service beyond expectation. Breakfast was varied and very nice every day. Dinners were also especially nice. The pool was beautiful and highly recommend thd bar if you want a drink with a smile from Manos, thank you for your amazing service and coffee with cinnamon. Overall would return with no hesitation.

The hotel looks beautiful and what you would expect from a 5 star. The room we had was lovely except as 2 friends travelling together it wasn't ideal that the bathroom only had a roller blind that was partially see through. So not much privacy in the shower or toilet. The receptionists response was that they dont know the relationship of people when booking. Privacy to me is a given married, friends whatever!!!! The restaurant.... Buffet style. Im not a fussy eater but the food in my opinion was poor. Meat that you just couldn't chew and I do have my own teeth. I get that this was the end of the season but we were paying guests. The drinks prices were ridiculous. No wonder the bar was so quiet. We enquired about a late checkout as we had a very late flight. Baring in mind there were no other guests arriving after we left. The reception wanted to charge is 100 Euros. We spoke to 2 couples around the pool on our last day. They paid £300 per person less for each person got an upgrade to a swim up room on arrival and didnt have to pay to keep their rooms on for the same flight as ours. Shame on you Tui Blue. HOW IS THAT FAIR. We BORROWED a hanger from our room so that travel clothes didnt get creased for our return journey. Wow the receptionist was so angry telling us they belong to the room we stayed in. What a joke!!! The reception and guest relations look the part but if your face doesn't fit WOW. We won't be back
