TUI BLUE Insula Alba

Location was great, the hotel was very clean and tidy. Friendly staff especially our housekeeper she was lovely, manos at the bar was always a laugh and so lovely. Food was a little disappointing I found there wasn’t a great deal of change over the week we stayed but was tasty and enjoyable just found there was a lack of change. Found the entertainment was abit disappointing. An other hotels around us seemed to play better music but that’s just personal choice. I wouldn’t say it’s a 5*. But we still had an enjoyable weeks holiday. Seeing the cats and the kittens at the resort being looked after was adorable.

This was a very nice hotel in Crete. The staff were amazing particularly Panos and Manos who were very professional and enthusiastic. The swim up room was very nice although the air conditioning did leak fortunately on our last night. We did report it and managed to get it fixed for our last night and the next occupant. The food was very good and in particular the desserts were delicious, very well presented and excellent overall. We did have one point to raise as we booked this TUI hotel directly and due to our flight timings and TUI organised pickup for the airport we only had 5 nights of hot dinner. Particularly the last night was disappointing as I asked the front desk if we could have a hot meal prior to our TUI airport pickup at 6pm. The reception said sorry we only open at 6:30pm for dinner. May I suggest to TUI if we book and pay for 7 nights that we at least receive 6 nights hot dinner as this would of been possible if the front desk allowed our party of 4 to eat slightly earlier on our last full day. To be fair we did receive sandwiches on our arrival at 10pm.

We decided to book our first holiday to this hotel and we were not disappointed! From the moment we arrived until we left all of the staff were so pleasant and took the time to check everything was OK with our holiday. The room was cleaned everyday and fresh towels were left. It is in great location right opposite several small beaches were you can watch life go by. The staff on the pool bar were brilliant, big shout out for Milos who was such a lovely bloke, always took the time to speak with you, ask your name and then the next time he saw you he would call you by it, his customer service towards everyone is the best I have ever seen in any hotel, all of the bar staff worked hard and again took the time to speak with you ( and share the odd joke!) The small restaurant at the front of the hotel near the beach was lovely, of an evening it is an Al la carte restaurant,the food was really good and very tasty. Another shout out to Eleni, Eva and Patrick, who again were really lovely and very attentive to everyone's needs. They to took the time to speak with you every day and ask how you were and if you were enjoying your holiday! ( they serve a nice pink gin spritz!!!). The food in the restaurant was varied,always well presented and as with all Greek food, delicious!!! Another shout to the restaurant manager who met us on the first night and then took the time to speak to us every day, very attentive.( sorry can't remember his name) We have both agreed that we would return to this hotel and recommend it to friends and family.

A heartfelt thank you to the wonderful team at Insula Alba My wife and I have just returned from a truly wonderful week at Insula Alba Resort & Spa in Analipsi, Crete, celebrating our 10th wedding anniversary. I wanted to write something a little more personal than a usual hotel review, because although the hotel itself, the food, the rooms and the beautiful surroundings were all excellent, it was the people at Insula Alba who made our stay so special. From the moment we arrived, we were made to feel incredibly welcome. Unfortunately, our holiday got off to a rather stressful start when I accidentally left my hand luggage on the transfer coach. Inside were a number of very important personal documents, and understandably I was extremely worried. The team at Insula Alba were absolutely wonderful. The reception staff went above and beyond to help me recover my belongings. They were incredibly helpful, friendly and reassuring throughout, keeping me informed and doing everything they could to assist. Thanks to their efforts, my bag was reunited with me within 24 hours. I honestly cannot thank them enough. Having my belongings safely returned meant that I could finally relax and stop worrying, allowing us to get on with what we had come to Crete to do — enjoy our anniversary together. That experience gave us a real appreciation for the wonderful people behind this hotel, and throughout the rest of our stay that same level of warmth and kindness continued. The reception team were exceptional — always smiling, friendly, approachable and genuinely happy to help with anything we needed. The housekeeping team deserve a special mention too. Our room was spotless throughout our stay, and every member of the cleaning team we met was so lovely and welcoming. And then there was the restaurant team. Every single person we encountered was friendly, attentive and welcoming. Nothing seemed too much trouble, and their enthusiasm and professionalism really added to our experience. To every member of the Insula Alba team — thank you. You may not realise how much the little things you do mean to guests, but your kindness, patience, smiles and willingness to help made a genuine difference to us. We came to Insula Alba to celebrate ten years of marriage, and thanks in no small part to you, we have come home with some incredibly happy memories. The hotel itself is beautiful, the food was excellent, our room was immaculate and the whole atmosphere of the resort was exactly what we hoped for from our anniversary break. But above all of that, we will remember the people. Thank you to everyone who made us feel so welcome and, in particular, to those who helped me get my belongings safely back. You turned what could have been a very stressful beginning to our holiday into something that ultimately made us appreciate just how special the Insula Alba team really is. We have absolutely loved our stay and are already talking about coming back next year. Thank you all from the bottom of our hearts for making our 10th wedding anniversary so memorable. Smooth check in we arrived late but didn’t wait long to be taken to the room , we stayed in a duplex , it was clean however the bathroom was very dated and the glass on the balcony was very dirty. Mini fridge restocked everyday , the food was ok , nothing special and after two weeks got really boring , the culinarium was a massive letdown and we cancelled pasta pizza as the heat up there was insane , the drinks were ok , at the pool bar you got served quicker if you sat inside and the people who were there allllllll day/ night were definitely prioritised. This hotel is definitely not a 5 star , the entertainment was described as low key - it was non existent, the best thing about it was the staff , panos in the piano bar was fantastic and all the guys at the pool bar , manos gets mentioned a lot - they all work as hard as each other .
