Zeus Ydoria Resort

We have recently returned from a fantastic family stay at Zeus Hotels Ydoria Resort, and we honestly had the best time. It’s a beautifully clean, welcoming hotel with lovely staff, great facilities and some of the best food we’ve experienced at an all-inclusive resort. The food was excellent. Breakfast, lunch and dinner always had a great selection of both hot and cold dishes, with different options each day alongside staple favourites, so there was genuinely something for everyone. Our children especially loved the desserts! We felt the quality and variety were noticeably better than at other all-inclusive resorts we’ve visited. The snack bar was also open during the day, serving burgers, hot dogs, gyros, pizza, chips, spring rolls, samosas and more – perfect when the kids wanted something between meals. Our room was spotlessly clean, spacious and had much more storage than we expected. It was cleaned every day by a lovely lady whose name, unfortunately, we didn’t get. We had fresh towels and linen daily, plenty of hangers, and shampoo, conditioner and soap were provided. We were even lucky enough to have robes and slippers, which I particularly appreciated for enjoying my morning cuppa on the terrace! The pool areas were extremely clean, with three different main pools to choose from. There’s the livelier activity pool near the kids’ bar and kids’ club, the beautiful pool near reception with the Bali beds, and another pool behind the restaurant which we found to be the quietest of the three. The slides ran throughout the day and there is also a separate area for smaller children. Our children had the best time. A special mention has to go to Fania, the lifeguard, who was absolutely amazing with both the children and adults. Friendly, funny and always smiling while still being excellent at her job – she was a real ray of sunshine and an absolute credit to the hotel. Another huge plus was the sunbed situation! We never once had a problem finding somewhere to sit and certainly didn't need to get up at the crack of dawn to reserve beds. There was a good variety available throughout the day in different areas of the resort, which made everything feel so much more relaxed. We were fortunate enough to have a private pool, and this really made our holiday. Being able to relax beside it while the children happily played in the water was wonderful and gave us some really lovely family time. The bar staff were brilliant and always served us with a smile. Grigoris at the main snack bar knew my husband's usual order by the second day! Irini at the Bali beds bar was also incredibly sweet – she has such a lovely personality that really shines through. The reception team couldn't do enough for us. We booked several taxis through them during our stay and whenever we had a question or needed help, they always went above and beyond. We also had the pleasure of meeting Grigoris, the hotel manager, during our stay. He was regularly present around the hotel, keeping an eye on everything, and it was clear to us just how much he genuinely cares about both the hotel and the people staying there. It was a real pleasure to meet him, and his warm smile and friendly manner made us feel incredibly welcome. We very much hope to see him again when we return! The entertainment team also worked incredibly hard. Rico was great, and there were activities throughout the day with a schedule displayed so you could easily see what was happening and when. One thing we particularly liked was that you weren't constantly pestered to join in – the activities were there if you wanted them, but you could equally just relax. Our daughter also absolutely loved the kids’ club, and this was actually a really special part of the holiday for us. At home she can find social situations difficult, particularly when she is on her own, so we were genuinely surprised when she decided that she wanted to go to kids’ club by herself. She had the best time! When we went to collect her, she wanted to stay for longer and after that she wanted to go to every club she could. She even joined in with the kids’ water polo, which is something she would normally be hesitant to do, but she threw herself into it and had so much fun. It was lovely for us to see her confidence grow as the holiday went on. She particularly bonded with one of the kids’ club ladies I think her name was Edie, who clearly made her feel so comfortable and welcome. We bought our daughter a personalised kids’ club T-shirt while we were there and, since getting home, she has hardly taken it off! I think that says everything about how much she loved her time there. Thank you for giving her such happy memories and helping her feel confident enough to get involved. The evening entertainment wasn't particularly to our personal taste, but that really didn't bother us as we often enjoyed walking down to the beach and local shops or heading into Rethymno in the evenings. We did really enjoy Greek Night, and we've heard so many fantastic things about the fire show. Unfortunately, because of our flight times, that was the one we missed! The location is ideal if you prefer a more laid-back holiday. The hotel is in a quieter area, but there are shops, bars, restaurants and the beach all within walking distance, while beautiful Rethymno is only a short bus or taxi ride away. What really stood out to us was the warmth of the whole team. There were so many little interactions throughout our stay that made us feel welcome and helped make the holiday special. Seeing our children so happy – and particularly watching our daughter's confidence blossom – made it even more memorable for us. We genuinely had the best family holiday and cannot wait to come back next year. We're already hoping we'll see lots of familiar faces when we return. We stayed here as a family of 5 last week of July first week of August and we had an amazing Holiday. Hotel is spotless, it is cleaned top to bottom daily to a very high standard. The grounds are beautiful, one of the best hotels we have ever stayed in. The staff are all very helpful and friendly, anything we needed the reception staff saw to it streight away. Room was cleaned every day, fresh towels and linen every day, one bottle of water on arrivel but no more after, which was fine, a water was avaliable at the self service, Giorgos at the bar made lovely drinks, very strong ones, but always had a smile. Cocktails were nice and a big selection. Best all inclusuve drinks weve experienced. The guy who ran the snack bar made amazing food daily, i dont know his name, and watching him work was refreshing to see the level of detail he put into making sure his area was clean. 2 of the loveliest, most attentive lifeguards we have ever come across, they get to know your kids and take keeping them safe very seriously. They both always had a smile, us and our kids loved them so much and we will miss them. Food in the restraunt was lovely. Always warm, plenty of selection to choose from and always found somewhere to sit. We visited in the height if the season and always found sunbeds. The beds by the main pool get taken up very easily but there is another 3 pools plus the slide pool so always loads avaliable. Kids club was absolutly brilliant my 3 wanted to go everyday. There was a lovely young lady called Lina doing it for the first 10 days but she left whilst we was there. Big shout out to her, she was amazing!. Rico does aqua areobics in a morning which are great fun (even just to watch) he puts so much energy into it. Water polo and other exciting stuff going on too. Evening entertainment was okay, were not a fan of quizzes and such so never bothered with those but the live singers and the fire guys were brilliant. Only feedback i could give the hotel would be to please provide locks on the middle pool toilet doors! These are shared male and female toilets and really need to have the facility to be locked whilst in use. There are other toilet facilities that lock, but they are a longer walk. We had an absolutly fantastic stay and a big thank you to all the staff here who all work incredibly hard. Would 100% recommend this hotel.

We’re just back from 11 nights here. What a gorgeous hotel!! It was immaculate, the staff were brilliant - especially the lady at the pool bar at the front pool - she’s a credit to the hotel (her name was maybe Indina or something like that). The food was lovely, my mum is gluten free and she managed to find things everyday, you can also ask and they will give you gluten free bits such as cakes bread cereal etc. The evening entertainment wasn’t very good, but that was ok for us. We went down to Indigo Beach Bar for drinks and to watch the sunset a few times - try here it’s lovely and really reasonably priced. We had a superior double room with pool and it was so nice and they are constantly making sure they are clean, which must be a hard job considering how many rooms have pools. My only criticism is that you can’t see the sea from the hotel (that’s more my fault for not checking etc), and only because I love watching the sunset. I would really recommend a day trip to Kournas Lake, we went with the operator very close to the hotel. We stopped at some waterfalls, went to a little village, to Kournas Lake and then Georgioupolis. We had such a good day and it was gorgeous!!! Rethymno old town is also a great visit. On a hot day, it’s nice to go as there little tiny streets are shaded and it feels like a lovely authentic town. The bus was VERY crowded on the way there, so we got a taxi back which was €15. Overall, a fantastic stay here and I’m sad that we are now home!

We had a wonderful stay at Ydoria Hotel and were very impressed with the cleanliness and overall quality of the hotel. Everything was exceptionally clean and well maintained, from the common areas to the rooms. Our room was cleaned every single day and was always spotless when we returned. The pools throughout the hotel were also incredibly clean, and our private pool was absolutely perfect clean, relaxing, and a great addition to our stay. The food was delicious, with a great variety of choices every day. There was something for everyone, and the quality of the food was excellent. What really made our stay special, though, was the staff. Everyone was extremely friendly, helpful, polite, and professional. They always welcomed us with a smile and made us feel genuinely comfortable and well looked after. Overall, we had an amazing experience at Idoria Hotel and would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a clean, comfortable, relaxing, and high quality place to stay. We would happily come back again!

Had an amazing time at Ydoria Zeus Hotels. I’ve been to many all inclusive venues and this was so much better than the rest, for many reasons. Pools - they have three main pools, plus slide areas too. There’s a super quiet pool. One with Bali beds. And the more active pool where activities are. So everyone has what they want. Plus - there’s always sunbeds! No need to set your alarm to reserve them. You could get decent spots at 10am and there were always spare beds in good locations throughout the day. It makes such a difference. Food and drink - really great selection and never feels like you’re getting all inclusive blandness. I felt the food was better than places we ate out at. The bar staff would also make off menu drinks so long as they used the spirits available. Rooms - clean, cool, and with plenty of space. We had a private pool too, which was fantastic to have your own little space. Location - it’s out of town and not on the beach, but we knew that when booking. The beach is only over the road and there’s plenty of local shops or a short and cheap taxi to old town. For us, the location was perfect. Atmosphere and staff - super friendly, couldn’t be more help to us. We got on first name terms with staff and even the hotel manager. They’re always available to help and super lovely people. The overall vibe of the hotel is just so wonderful. Value - for just under £4,000 for a week for a family of four and a private pool room, we thought it was great value. Considering the high quality of food, great atmosphere, no sunbed stress… worth every penny!
